Based on a duality relationship between magnetic and dielectric substrates, the characteristic impedance, propagation content and phase shift characteristic of microstrip line on longitudinally-ferrite substrates are researched. The conclusion can be drawn that they are proportional to bandwidth of microstrip line, and the higher the frequency is, the better the linearity is, and greater bandwidth can be achieved. In this work, a compact finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) algorithm with a memory-reduced technique is proposed for the dispersion analysis of rectangular waveguides either fully or partially loaded with longitudinally-magnetized ferrite. In this algorithm, the divergence theorem is used to eliminate the longitudinal components of the electric and magnetic flux densities. The mobius transform (MT) technique is applied for the first time to obtain the equations relating the magnetic field to the magnetic flux density in a ferrite medium. Some examples are presented to validate the obtained algorithm with numerical results: good agreement is obtained with a significant reduction in the memory space requirement compared to the conventional algorithm. 展开更多

Leather tanning, cooling t... A well-known hazardous metal and top contaminant in wastewater is hexavalent chromium. The two forms of most commonly found chromium are chromate ( CrO 4 2− ) and dichromate ( Cr 2 O 7 2− ). Leather tanning, cooling tower blow-down, plating, electroplating, rinse water sources, anodizing baths etc. are the main sources of Cr (VI) contamination. The Cr (VI) is not only non-biodegradable in the environment but also carcinogenic to living population. It is still difficult to treat Cr contaminated waste water effectively, safely, eco-friendly, and economically. As a result, many techniques have been used to treat Cr (VI)-polluted wastewater, including adsorption, chemical precipitation, coagulation, ion-exchange, and filtration. Among these practices, the most practical method is adsorption for the removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solutions, which has gained widespread acceptance due to the ease of use and affordability of the equipment and adsorbent. It has been revealed that Fe-based adsorbents’ oxides and hydroxides have high adsorptive potential to lower Cr (VI) content below the advised threshold. Fe-based adsorbents were also discovered to be relatively cheap and toxic-free in Cr (VI) treatment. Fe-based adsorbents are commonly utilized in industry. It has been discovered that nanoparticles of Fe-, Ti-, and Cu-based adsorbents have a better capacity to remove Cr (VI). Cr (VI) was effectively removed from contaminated water using mixed element-based adsorbents (Fe-Mn, Fe-Ti, Fe-Cu, Fe-Zr, Fe-Cu-Y, Fe-Mg, etc.). Initial findings suggest that Cr (VI) removal from wastewater may be accomplished by using magnesium ferrite nanomaterials as an efficient adsorbent. 展开更多

Nanoparticles anchored on the perovskite surface have gained considerable attention for their wide-ranging applications in heterogeneous catalysis and energy conversion due to their robust and integrated structural configuration.Herein,we employ controlled Co doping to effectively enhance the nanoparticle exsolution process in layered perovskite ferrites materials.CoFe alloy nanoparticles with ultra-high-density are exsolved on the(PrBa)_(0.95)(Fe_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Nb_(0.1))2O_(5+δ)(PBFCN_(0.1))surface under reducing atmosphere,providing significant amounts of reaction sites and good durability for hydrocarbon catalysis.Under a reducing atmosphere,cobalt facilitates the reduction of iron cations within PBFCN_(0.1),leading to the formation of CoFe alloy nanoparticles.This formation is accompanied by a cation exchange process,wherein,with the increase in temperature,partial cobalt ions are substituted by iron.Meanwhile,Co doping significantly enhance the electrical conductivity due to the stronger covalency of the Cosingle bondO bond compared with Fesingle bondO bond.A single cell with the configuration of PBFCN_(0.1)-Sm_(0.2)Ce_(0.8)O_(1.9)(SDC)|SDC|Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)O_(3−δ)(BSCF)-SDC achieves an extremely low polarization resistance of 0.0163Ωcm^(2)and a high peak power density of 740 mW cm^(−2)at 800℃.The cell also shows stable operation for 120 h in H_(2)with a constant current density of 285 mA cm^(−2).Furthermore,employing wet C_(2)H_(6)as fuel,the cell demonstrates remarkable performance,achieving peak power densities of 455 mW cm^(−2)at 800℃and 320 mW cm^(−2)at 750℃,marking improvements of 36%and 70%over the cell with(PrBa)_(0.95)(Fe_(0.9)Nb_(0.1))_(2)O_(5+δ)(PBFN)-SDC at these respective temperatures.This discovery emphasizes how temperature influences alloy nanoparticles exsolution within doped layered perovskite ferrites materials,paving the way for the development of high-performance ceramic fuel cell anodes. 展开更多

A novel topology of modular ferrite magnet fluxswitching linear motor(FMFSLM)use for track transport is presented in this paper,which enables more ferrite magnets to be inserted into the primary iron core.The motor has a significant low-cost advantage in long-distance linear drive.The proposed FMFSLM’s structure and working principle were introduced.Further,the thrust force expression of the motor was established.The thrust force components triggering thrust force ripple were investigated,and their expressions can be obtained according to the inductances’Fourier series expressions.Resultantly,the relationship between the harmonics of thrust force and that of self-and mutual inductances was revealed clearly.Based on the relationship,a skewed secondary should be practical to reduce the thrust force ripple.Thus,the effect of employing a skewed secondary to the proposed FMFSLM was investigated,and an optimized skewing span distance was determined.Finite element analysis(FEA)was conducted to validate the exactness of the theoretical analysis.The simulation results indicate that the strategy of suppressing thrust force ripple has a significant effect.Meanwhile,the motor maintains a good efficiency characteristic.The results of the prototype experiment are in good agreement with FEAs,which further verifies the proposed modular interior FMFSLM’s practicability. 展开更多

Zinc ferrite is the principal constituent in zinc neutral-leach residue(NLR) which is commonly treated by hot-acid leaching in electrolytic zinc plants. Reductive leaching of zinc ferrite with sphalerite concentrate as a reducing agent was performed. It was found that leaching of zinc ferrite in the presence of sphalerit concentrate was a viable process that effectively extracted zinc and indium and converted Fe^3+ into Fe^2+ at the same time. Reflux leaching tests by two stages were performed to achieve extractions of 98.1% for zinc and 97.5% for indium, and a Fe^2+/Fe^3+ molar ratio of 9.6 in leach solution was also obtained. The leaching behaviors of other elements, such as iron, copper and tin were also studied. The results showed that iron and copper were completely leached, whereas tin presented lower extraction values. 展开更多

The traditional zinc hydro-metallurgy generates a large amount of zinc ferrite residue rich in valuable metals. The separation of iron is crucial for resource recycling of valuable metals in zinc ferrite residue. A novel selective reduction roasting?leaching process was proposed to separate zinc and iron from zinc leaching residue which contains zinc ferrite. The thermodynamic analysis was employed to determine the predominant range of Fe3O4 and ZnO during reduction roasting process of zinc ferrite. Based on the result of thermodynamic calculation, we found thatV(CO)/V(CO+CO2) ratio is a key factor determining the phase composition in the reduction roasting product of zinc ferrite. In the range ofV(CO)/V(CO+CO2) ratio between 2.68% and 36.18%, zinc ferrite is preferentially decomposed into Fe3O4 and ZnO. Based on thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, the optimal conditions for reduction roasting of zinc ferrite are determined as follows: temperature 700?750 °C, volume fraction of CO 6% and V(CO)/V(CO+CO2) ratio 30%. Based on the above results, zinc leaching residue rich in zinc ferrite was roasted and the roasted product was leached by acid solution. It is found that zinc extraction rate in zinc leaching residue reaches up to 70% and iron extraction rate is only 18.4%. The result indicates that zinc and iron can be effectively separated from zinc leaching residue. 展开更多

Fine nickel ferrite precursors NiFe2(C204)3·6H2O were obtained via co-precipitation method with low grade nickel matte as the raw material. Thermodynamic analysis of NiClz-FeC12-(NH4)2C204-H20 system for precipitation identified that the theoretical optimum co-precipitation pH value is 2, and C2O2 has strong complexation with Ni2+ and Fe2+ ions. Based on these theoretical considerations, the effects of parameters on the precipitation rates and precursors size were investigated systematically. The results show that the optimum co-precipitation conditions are pH=2, temperature 45 ℃, 1.2 times theoretical amount of (NH4)2C204 dosage and 3% PEG400 addition. Under these conditions, the precipitation rates of Ni2+ and Fe2+ are both over 99.8%, with the precursors size of 1-2 urn. Furthermore, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) demonstrate that the precursors are single-phase solid solution, wherein the nickel/iron atoms are replaced by the iron/nickel atoms reciprocally. 展开更多

The synthesis of sodium ferrite and its desulfurization performance in S2 -bearing sodium aluminate solutions were investigated. The thermodynamic analysis shows that the lowest temperature is about 810 K for synthesizing sodium ferrite by roasting the mixture of ferric oxide and sodium carbonate. The results indicate that the formation process of sodium ferrite can be completed at 1173 K for 60 min, meanwhile raising temperature and reducing NazCO3 particle size are beneficial to accelerating the formation of sodium ferrite. Sodium ferrite is an efficient desulfurizer to remove the S2- in aluminate solution, and the desulfurization rate can reach approximately 70% at 373 K for 60 min with the molar ratio of iron to sulfur of 1:1-1.5:1. Furthermore, the desulfurization is achieved by NaFeS2·2H2O precipitation through the reaction of Fe(OH)4 and S^2- in aluminate solution, and the desulfurization efficiency relies on the Fe(OH)4^- generated by dissolving sodium ferrite. 展开更多

The kinetics of carbon reduction of ZnFe2O4 in the temperature range of 550-950 °C was investigated in a microwave tank-type reactor. The mechanism of formation of ZnO and Fe3O4/FeO by the decomposition of ZnFe2O4 was detailed using the equilibrium calculations and thermodynamics analysis by HSC chemistry software 6.0. In addition, the effects of decomposition temperature, the C/ZnFe2O4 ratio, the particle size and the microwave power were assessed on the kinetics of decomposition. Zn recovery as high as 97.93%could be achieved at a decomposition temperature of 750 °C with C/ZnFe2O4 ratio of 1:3, particle size of 61-74 μm and microwave power of 1200 W. The kinetics of decomposition was tested with different kinetic models and carbon gasification control mechanism was identified to be the appropriate mechanism. The activation energy for the carbon gasification reaction was estimated to be 38.21 kJ/mol. 展开更多

To improve the performance of Ni-Zn ferrites for power field use,the influence of MnO2 additive on the properties of Ni-Zn ferrites was investigated by the conventional powder metallurgy.The results show that MnO2 does not form a visible second phase in the doping mass fraction range of(0-2.0%).The average grain size,sintering density and real permeability gradually decrease with the increase of the MnO2 content.And the DC resistivity continuously increases with the increase of MnO2 content.The saturation magnetization(magnetic moment in unit mass) first increases slightly when mass fraction of MnO2 is less than 0.4% MnO2,and then gradually decreases with increasing the MnO2 mass fraction due to the exchange interaction of the cations.When the excitation frequency is less than 1 MHz,the power loss(Pcv) continuously increases with increasing the MnO2 content due to the decrease of average grain size.However,when the excitation frequency exceeds 1 MHz,eddy current loss gradually becomes the predominant contribution to Pcv.And the sample with a higher resistivity favors a lower Pcv,except for the sample with 2.0% MnO2.The sample without additive has the best Pcv when worked at frequencies less than 1 MHz;and the sample with 1.6% MnO2 additive has the best Pcv when worked at frequencies higher than 1 MHz. 展开更多

A series of ZnxFe3-xO4(x = 0, 0. 15, 0. 30, 0o 40, 0. 48, 0. 60, 0. 70 ) nanoparticles prepared by hydrothermal method are studied by use of transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer, superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer and Mossbauer spectrometer. All samples present a spinel structure. The lattice constant increases with the increase in the Zn content while the grain size decreases from 18 nm to 9 nm. Moreover, the saturation magnetzafion at 5 K and 293 K increases initially when x ≤ 0. 40 and subsequently decreases when x 〉 0. 40. At room temperature, Mossbauer spectra exhibit a change from a well-defined sextet spectrum to a doublet spectrum as the Zn content increases. The doublet spectrum begins to appear when x = 0. 6, while it begins when x = 0. 80 for the bulk materials. The results of magnetization and Curie temperature measurements indicate that the doublet spectrum is due to the surperparamagnetic state of the nanoparticles. Furthermore, the relationship between the hyperfine field variation and the cation distribution is discussed. The variation of magnetic properties is interpreted by the three-sublattice Yafet-Kittel (Y-K)model. 展开更多

Herein,nanocrystalline ferrite adsorbents were synthesized from metal nitrates and urea using a microwave assisted combustion method. A series of ADS experiments were performed using a fixed‐bed reactor to evaluate the ADS reactivity over the ferrites, which was found to have the order MgFe2O4〉NiFe2O4〉CuZnFe2O4〉ZnFe2O4〉CoFe2O4. This effect is explained by the fact that the low degree of alloying of Mg‐Fe and the doped Mg increased the interaction between Fe and S compounds,leading to a significant improvement in the desulfurization capability of the adsorbent.Additionally, Mg can dramatically promote the decomposition of thiophene. X‐ray diffraction and Mosbauer spectroscopy were used to characterize the fresh, regenerated, and sulfided adsorbents.Although the ferrite adsorbents were partially sulfided to bimetallic sulfides during the adsorption process, they were successfully regenerated after calcining at 500 °C in air. 展开更多

The enhancement of the magnetic ferrite thin-film on the inductance (L) and quality factor (Q) of the inductor is analyzed. Circuit element parameters are extracted from RF measurements. Compared with the reference air-core inductor without magnetic film, L and Q of the ferrite thin-film inductor are 17% and 40% higher at 2GHz,respectively. Both the equivalent circuit analysis and test results demonstrate significant enhancement of the performance of RF integration inductors by ferrite thin-film integration. 展开更多

A series of Cu-substituted Ni_(0.5-x)Cu_xZn_(0.5)Fe_2O_4(x=0.12,0.16,0.20,0.24 and 0.28) spinel ferrites were prepared by conventional ceramic method to investigate the effects of Cu compositional variation on the structure and dielectric properties.XRD patterns demonstrate that all the samples are crystallized in single-phase cubic spinel structure and the lattice constant increases with increasing Cu content.White grains observed by SEM are Cu-rich phase.The dielectric constant versus frequency curve displays a normal dielectric behavior of spinel ferrites.While the frequency dependence of dielectric loss tangent is found to be abnormal,exhibiting a peak at certain frequency for all Cu-substituted Ni-Zn ferrites.A maximum of the resistivity is observed at x=0.2 due to the decrease of hopping electrons between Fe^(2+) and Fe^(3+) in per unit volume,which is in contrast with the Cu content dependence of dielectric constant and dielectric loss. 展开更多

In order to improve the absorbing properties of M- type barium ferrite absorbing materials, M-type barium ferrite/graphene oxide composites with different graphene oxide contents were synthesized by the sol-gel autocombustion method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), a scanning electronic microscopy ( SEM ), a physical properties measurement system (PPMS-9), and a vector network analyzer were used to analyze their structure, surface morphology, magnetic and absorbing properties, respectively. The results show that the absorbing band of the composite absorbing material is widened and the absorbing strength is increased compared with the pure M-type barium ferrite. The sample with the content of doped graphene oxide of 3% has the minimum reflectivity at 10 to 18 GHz frequencies. Hence, the doped graphene oxide effectively improves the absorbing properties of M-type barium ferrite. 展开更多
