Broken Symmetries in Spacetime with Torsion and Galactic Magnetic Fields without Dynamo Amplification

Since Kostelecky et al [Phys Rev Lett 100, 111102 (2008)], have shown that there is an intimate connection between spacetime with torsion and the possibility of constraining it to Lorentz violation, a renewed interest in torsion theories of gravity has arised. In this paper, minimal coupling between photons on a torsioned background is shown to allow us to obtain the galactic magnetic field strength μG without dynamo amplification. This agrees with recent results by Jimenez and Maroto (2011) for spiral galaxies, with galactic magnetic field constraints from Dark matter without dy- namo amplification. The approach discussed here allow us to get rid of the unpleasant photon mass by simply consider- ing the Lagrangean cut off for second order torsion terms. Therefore though the gauge and Lorentz symmetries are bro- ken here one does not have to deal with photon masses. 展开更多

In this study,we investigate the quasinormal modes(QNMs)of a Lorentz-violating spacetime,factoring in a cosmological constant,within the framework of Einstein-bumblebee gravity.Our findings reveal that the interaction of spacetime with an anisotropic bumblebee field imparts distinct contributions to the axial and polar sectors of the vector perturbations.This subsequently breaks the isospectrality typically observed in vector modes.Numerical evidence strongly indicates isospectral breaking in the vector modes of Einstein-bumblebee black holes:a pronounced breakage in the real part of the frequencies,while the imaginary component seems less affected.This isospectral breaking indicates the existence of two different waveforms in the Ringdown phase of the black hole,which provides a potential signal of quantum gravity observable in current experiments. 展开更多

The Eigenstate Method has been developed to deduce the fermion propagator with a constant external magnetic field. In general, we find its result is equivalent to other methods and this new method is more convenient,especially when one evaluates the contribution from the infinitesimal imaginary term of the fermion propagator. Using the Eigenstate Method we try to discuss whether the infinitesimal imaginary frequency of the fermion propagator in a strong magnetic field and Lorentz-violating extension of the minimal SU(3)×SU(2)×SU(1) Standard Model could have a significant influence on the dynamical mass. When the imaginary term of the fermion propagator in this model is not trivial(√(α-1)eB/3) 〈 σ 〈(√(α-1)2eB/3), this model gives a correction to the dynamical mass.When one does not consider the influence from the imaginary term(σ 〉√(α-1)2eB/3), there is another correction from the conventional term. Dispersion relation and surface gravity of universal horizons

In Einstein-aether theory,violating Lorentz invariance permits some super-luminal communications,and the universal horizon can trap excitations traveling at arbitrarily high velocities.To better understand the nature of these universal horizons,we first modify the ray tracing method,and then use it to study their surface gravity in charged Einstein-aether black hole spacetime.Instead of the previous result by Cropp et al.,our results show that the surface gravity of the universal horizon is dependent on the specific dispersion relation,k_(uh)-2(z-1)k_(uh)/z,where z denotes the power of the leading term in the superluminal dispersion relation,characterizing different species of particles.And the associated Hawking temperatures also are different with z.These findings,which coincide with those derived by the tunneling method,provide some full understanding of black hole thermodynamics in Lorentz-violating theories. 展开更多

We studied the correction of the quantum tunneling radiation of fermions with spin 1/2 in Kerr anti-de-Sitter black hole.First,the dynamic equation of spin 1/2 fermions was corrected using Lorentz’s violation theory.Second,the new expressions of the fermions quantum tunneling rate,the Hawking temperature of the black hole and the entropy of the black hole were obtained according to the corrected fermions dynamic equation.Our results show that Hawking temperature increases with the enhancement of both the coupling strength and the radial component of ether-like field,but is independent of non-radial components of ether-like field.At last,some comments are made on the results of our work. 展开更多
