Ho...The development and utilization of low-grade polymetallic deposits with strategic mineral resources is one of the important measures to alleviate the current high dependence on strategic mineral resources in China. However, domestic mining enterprises and most mining consulting and design institutes usually use general industrial indicators to carry out reserve estimation and technical and economic feasibility studies on low-grade polymetallic deposits, which cannot truly reflect the economic value of such deposits. The article expounds on the definitions of net return value (NSR) and on-site total maintenance cost (AISC) of common ore smelters in the evaluation of overseas mineral resources. Taking a low-grade polymetallic copper-molybdenum mine in Guangdong Province as an example, comparing the research results showed the NSR-AISC method and the general industrial index method in low-grade polymetallic deposit. There are huge differences in the results of reserve estimation;through the further introduction of Taylor’s formula and the research results on the relationship between investment intensity and production scale, a more reasonable mine life and investment scale are recommended, and a more in-depth comparative study has been carried out in the dimension of technical and economic indicators. Based on the comparative study of the above two methods in reserve estimation and the evaluation results of technical and economic indicators, the author believes that the NSR-AISC method can better reflect the true value of low-grade polymetallic ore projects, and should be popularized and applied in resource evaluation and development practice. This article further describes the application status of the NSR-AISC method for reserve estimation and the evaluation of technical economic indicators, and suggests the main points that should be paid attention to in the use of the NSR-AISC method.展开更多

PATIENTS AND RESULTS: Three patients (two men, 74 and 70 years; one women, 77 years) with H. pylori-associated low-grade MALT lymphoma achieved complete lymphoma remission after being cured. Surveillance endoscopies were performed twice a year in accordance to the protocol. Four years after complete lymphoma remission in two patients, and after 5 years in the other, early gastric adenocarcinoma of the mucosa-type, type IIa and type IIc, respectively, was detected, which were completely removed by endoscopic mucosa resection. In one patient, the gastric cancer was diagnosed at the same location as the previous MALT lymphoma, in the other patients it was detected at different sites of the stomach distant from location of the previous MALT lymphoma. The patients were H. pylori negative during the whole follow-up time. CONCLUSION: These findings strengthen the importance of regular Long-term follow-up endoscopies in patients with complete remission of gastric MALT lymphoma after cure of H. pylori infection. Furthermore, gastric adenocarcinoma may develop despite eradication of H. pylori.展开更多

Patient 1, a 14-year-old boy in an immunocompromised state of unknown cause, complained of repeated abdominal pain. Examinations revealed gastric MALT with local invasion and lymph node involvement. Serum anti-Helicobacter pylori (H pylon) antibody was positive. H pylori eradication was abandoned due to its adverse effects. The MALT lesion spontaneously regressed over the next 24 months without any treatment for lymphoma. Patient 2, a 6-year-old boy, underwent cord blood transplantation for the treatment of adrenoleukodystrophy. He was administered immunosuppressants for graft-versus-host disease after transplantation. Nausea and hematochezia appeared and further examinations revealed gastric MALT with H pylori gastritis. Treatment consisting of medication for the Hpylori infection alone eradicated the Hpylori and completely resolved the patient's MALT lesion, as well. Patients i and 2 were followed up over periods of 10 years and 3 years, respectively, without any signs of relapse. In conclusion, gastric lymphoma of the MALT type can be cured by conservative treatment even in immunocompromised pediatric patients.展开更多

Patients and Methods: Forty-four patients were included. Patients were treated with a total dose of 4 Gy (2 × 2 Gy) using 6 - 15 Mv photon or electron beam. Results: most patients were above age of 60 years (59%) with male predominance. Follicular lymphoma was the most common pathological type;bulky disease (>5 cm) was presented in 61.4%. Patients who received only 2 regimens were 63.7% and 31.8% had >2 involved sites. No treatment related toxicity was observed. The overall response rate was 88.7%;complete response was reached in 59.1% and stable disease in 6.8%, progressive disease in 4.5%. Median time to local progression was 33 months (95% CI 23.70 - 42.29);2-year local progression free survival was 78%. Response rate was found to be dependent on age, number of involved sites and lymph node size but independent on sex, pathological type, number of prior regimens, LDH level and time since diagnosis. Conclusion: Short-course-low dose palliative radiotherapy (2 × 2 Gy) affords an attractive option for treatment of relapsed low-grade non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma due to high response rates. However, these results had to be confirmed in a larger number of patients.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Low-grade appendiceal neoplasms(LAMN)are characterized by low incidence and atypical clinical presentations, often leading to misdiagnosis as acute or chronic appendicitis before surgery. The primary diagnostic tool for LAMN is abdominal computed tomography(CT)imaging.Surgical resection remains the cornerstone of LAMN management, necessitating en bloc tumor excision to minimize the risk of iatrogenic rupture.Laparoscopy, known for its minimal invasiveness, reduced postoperative discomfort, and expedited recovery,is a safe and reliable approach for LAMN treatment.Despite the possibility of pseudomyxoma peritonei development, appendectomy and partial appendectomy generally result in negative tumor margins and favorable outcomes, which can be attributed to the disease’s slow growth and lower malignancy.CASE SUMMARY A 71-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with a pelvic spaceoccupying lesion detected 1 mo prior.Physical examination showed a soft abdomen without tenderness or rebound and no palpable masses. No shifting dullness was noted, and digital rectal examination revealed no palpable mass.Enteroscopy revealed a raised,smooth-surfaced mass measuring 3.0 cm in the cecum.Abdominal contrast-enhanced CT showed a markedly thickened and dilated appendix with visible cystic shadows.Laparoscopic surgery was performed and revealed a significantly dilated appendix, leading to laparoscopic resection of the appendix and part of the cecum.Post-surgical pathologic analysis confirmed LAMN.The patient received symptomatic and supportive post-operative care and was discharged on postoperative day 4 without complications such as abdominal bleeding, intestinal obstruction,or incision infection. No tumor recurrence was observed during a 7-mo follow-up period.CONCLUSION LAMN is a rare disease that lacks specific clinical manifestations.Abdominal CT plays a crucial role in diagnosing LAMN,and laparoscopic surgery is a safe and effective diagnostic and therapeutic approach.
文摘BACKGROUND Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma(LGMS)is an extremely rare tumor characterized by the malignant proliferation of myofibroblasts.LGMS most commonly develops in adults, predominantly in males,in the head and neck region, oral cavity, especially on the tongue, mandible, and larynx. This article presents 2 cases of LGMS localized to the maxillary sinus and provides an overview of the available literature.CASE SUMMARY Two patients with LGMS located in the maxillary sinus underwent surgery at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery.Case 1:A 46-year-old patient was admitted to the clinic with suspected LGMS recurrence in the right maxillary sinus(rT4aN0M0),with symptoms of pain in the suborbital area, watering of the right eye, thick discharge from the right nostril, and augmented facial asymmetry. After open biopsy-confirmed LGMS,the patient underwent expanded maxillectomy of the right side with immediate palate reconstruction using a microvascular skin flap harvested surgically from the middle arm.The patient qualified for adjuvant radiotherapy for the postoperative bed, with an additional margin.Currently, the patient is under 1.5 years of observation with no evidence of disease.Case 2:A 45-year-old man was admitted to our clinic with facial asymmetry, strabismus, exophthalmos, and visual impairment in the right eye.Six months earlier, the patient had undergone partial jaw resection at another hospital for fibromatosis.A contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan revealed a tumor mass in the postoperative log after an earlier procedure. An open biopsy confirmed lowgrade fibrosarcoma(rT4aN0M0).The patient qualified for an extended total right maxillectomy with orbital excision and right hemimandibulectomy with immediate microvascular reconstruction using an anterolateral thigh flap. The patient subsequently underwent adjuvant radiotherapy to the postoperative area. After 9 months, recurrence occurred in the right mandibular arch below the irradiated area. The lesion infiltrated the base of the skull, which warranted the withdrawal of radiotherapy and salvage surgery. The patient qualified for palliative chemotherapy with a regimen of doxorubicin+dacarbazine+cyclophosphamide and palliative radiotherapy for bone metastases. The patient died 26 months after surgical treatment. The cases have been assessed and compared with cases in the literature.CONCLUSION No specific diagnostic criteria or treatment strategies have been developed for LGMS.The treatment used for LGMS is the same as that used for sinonasal cancer radical tumor excision;adjuvant radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy should also be considered. They have low malignant potential but are highly invasive, tend to recur, and metastasize to distant sites.Patients should undergo regular follow-up examinations to detect recurrence or metastasis at an early stage.Patients should be treated and observed at the highest referral centers.
文摘The development and utilization of low-grade polymetallic deposits with strategic mineral resources is one of the important measures to alleviate the current high dependence on strategic mineral resources in China. This article further describes the application status of the NSR-AISC method for reserve estimation and the evaluation of technical economic indicators, and suggests the main points that should be paid attention to in the use of the NSR-AISC method.
文摘The stomach is the most frequently involved site for extranodal lymphomas, accounting for nearly two-thirds of all gastrointestinal cases. It is widely accepted that gastric B-cell,low-grade mucosal-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT)-lymphoma is caused by Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection.MALT-lymphomas may engender different clinical and endoscopic patterns.Often, diagnosis is confirmed in patients with only vague dyspeptic symptoms and without macroscopic lesions on gastric mucosa.H.pylori eradication leads to lymphoma remission in a large number of patients when treatment occurs at an early stage(Ⅰ-Ⅱ1).Neoplasia confined to the submucosa, localized in the antral region of the stomach, and without API2-MALT1 translocation, shows a high probability of remission following H.pylori eradication. When both bacterial infection and lymphoma recur, further eradication therapy is generally effective.Radiotherapy, chemotherapy and,in selected cases, surgery are the available therapeutic options with a high success rate for those patients who fail to achieve remission, while data on immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies (rituximab)are still scarce. The 5-year survival rate is higher than 90%,but careful,long-term follow-up is required in these patients since lymphoma recurrence has been reported in some cases.
文摘AIM: To investigate treatment outcome of Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori )-negative low-grade gastric mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma.METHODS: In this study,we retrospectively reviewed the clinical outcome and clinicopathologic factors of stage Ⅰ E H.pylori -negative low-grade gastric MALT lymphoma cases from August 1998 to June 2009.RESULTS: A total of eleven patients with H.pylori -negative low-grade gastric MALT lymphoma were enrolled in the study and received anti-H.pylori eradication treatment and/or radiotherapy or excisional therapy.Complete remission (CR) of gastric MALT lymphoma was achieved in all patients. The time to CR was 1-66 mo (median,1 mo).CONCLUSION: Eradication therapy may be offered as an initial treatment option even in cases of localized H.pylori -negative gastric MALT lymphoma.
文摘AIM: To report 3 of 120 patients on the German MALT lymphoma trial with H. pylori associated gastric MALT lymphoma who developed early gastric cancer 4 and 5 years, after complete lymphoma remission following cure of H. pylori infection. Furthermore, gastric adenocarcinoma may develop despite eradication of H. pylori.

文摘Thermal energy is abundantly available in our daily life and industrial production, and especially,low-grade heat is often regarded as a byproduct.Collecting and utilizing this ignored energy by low-cost and simple technologies may become a smart countermeasure to relieve the energy crisis. Here,a unique device has been demonstrated to achieve high value-added conversion of low-grade heat by introducing redox-active organic alizarin(AZ)onto N-doped hollow carbon nanofibers(N–HCNF)surface.As-prepared N–HCNF/AZ can deliver a high specific capacitance of 514.3 F g^(-1)(at 1 A g^(-1))and an outstanding rate capability of 60.3%even at 50 A g^(-1).Meanwhile,the assembled symmetric proton capacitor can deliver a high energy density of 28.0 Wh kg^(-1) at 350.0 W kg^(-1) and a maximum power density of 35.0 kW kg^(-1) at 17.0 Wh kg^(-1).Significantly,the thermally chargeable proton capacitors can attain a surprisingly high Seebeck coefficient of 15.3 mV K^(-1) and a power factor of 6.02µW g^(-1).Taking advantage of such high performance,a satisfying open-circuit voltage of 481.0 mV with a temperature difference of 54 K is achieved. This research provides new insights into construction of high value-added energy systems requiring high electrochemical performances.
文摘BACKGROUND Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma(LGMS)is a rare spindle cell sarcoma espe-cially in the pancreas, with myofibroblastic differentiation.Hitherto, only a few cases have been reported.CASE SUMMARY Herein,we report a case involving the discovery of a pancreatic mass detected during a routine physical examination.Subsequent imaging and pathological tests of the patient led to the diagnosis of LGMS of the pancreas.Following surgical intervention, the patient experienced recurrence and metastasis.Conventional treatment is not effective for postoperative recurrent pancreatic LGMS with multiple metastases. After communicating with the patients and their families, informed consent was obtained for the treatment of anlotinib combined with pembrolizumab.Evaluation of imaging and clinical symptoms post-treatment revealed a relatively favorable response to the combination of anlotinib and pembrolizumab.CONCLUSION Based on the comprehensive literature review, our report aimed to provide evidence for a better understanding of the disease characteristics, diagnostic criteria, imaging findings, and identification of LGMS.And explore novel treatment strategies for this disease.
文摘We report the remission of primary gastric lymphoma of the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type in two immunocompromised pediatric patients. In conclusion, gastric lymphoma of the MALT type can be cured by conservative treatment even in immunocompromised pediatric patients.
文摘Purpose: To assess the response rate, duration of response and prognostic factors affecting response after low-dose involved-field radiotherapy in patients with relapsed low-grade B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. However, these results had to be confirmed in a larger number of patients.
文摘BACKGROUND Primary central nervous system lymphoma(PCNSL)is a non-Hodgkin lymphoma that originates in the central nervous system(CNS)and is exclusively limited to the CNS.Although most PCNSLs are diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, primary CNS T-cell lymphomas(PCNSTLs)are rare.PCNSTLs typically demonstrate some degree of enhancement on contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).To the best of our knowledge,non-enhancing PCNSTL has not been reported previously.CASE SUMMARY A 69-year-old male presented to the neurology department with complaints of mild cognitive impairment and gradual onset of left lower leg weakness over a span of two weeks.Initial MRI showed asymmetric T2-hyperintense lesions within the brain. No enhancement was observed on the contrast-enhanced T1 image. The initial diagnosis was neuro-Behçet’s disease.Despite high-dose steroid therapy,no alterations in the lesions were identified on initial MRI.The patient’s symptoms deteriorated further. An MRI performed one month after the initial scan revealed an increased lesion extent.Subsequently, brain biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of PCNSTL.The patient underwent definitive combined chemoradiotherapy. However, the patient developed bacteremia and died of septic shock approximately three months after diagnosis.CONCLUSION The absence of enhancement in the lesion did not rule out PCNSTL.A biopsy approach is advisable for pathological confirmation.

文摘BACKGROUND Primary pancreatic lymphoma(PPL)is an exceedingly rare tumor with limited mention in scientific literature. The clinical manifestations of PPL are often nonspecific, making it challenging to distinguish this disease from other panc-reatic-related diseases.Chemotherapy remains the primary treatment for these individuals.CASE SUMMARY In this case study,we present the clinical details of a 62-year-old woman who initially presented with vomiting, abdominal pain, and dorsal pain.On further evaluation through positron emission tomography-computed tomography, the patient was considered to have a pancreatic head mass. However, subsequent endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA)revealed that the patient had pancreatic peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified(PTCL-NOS).There was a substantial decrease in the size of the pancreatic mass after the patient underwent a cycle of chemotherapy comprised of brentuximab vedotin, decitabine, and oxaliplatin(brentuximab vedotin and Gemox). The patient had significant improvement in radiological findings at the end of the first cycle.CONCLUSION Primary pancreatic PTCL-NOS is a malignant and heterogeneous lymphoma,in which the clinical manifestations are often nonspecific. It is difficult to diagnose, and the prognosis is poor.Imaging can only be used for auxiliary diagnosis of other diseases. With the help of immunostaining,EUS-FNA could be used to aid in the diagnosis of PPL.After a clear diagnosis, chemotherapy is still the first-line treatment for such patients, and surgical resection is not recommended.A large number of recent studies have shown that the CD30 antibody drug has potential as a therapy for several types of lymphoma. However, identifying new CD30-targeted therapies for different types of lymphoma is urgently needed. In the future, further research on antitumor therapy should be carried out to improve the survival prognosis of such patients.
文摘BACKGROUND Marginal zone lymphoma(MZL)is an indolent subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL),which is rare clinically with severe rashes as the initial symptom.CASE SUMMARY This study reports a case of MZL with generalized skin rashes accompanied by pruritus and purulent discharge.First-line treatment with rituximab combined with zanubrutinib had poor effects. However, after switching to obinutuzumab combined with zanubrutinib, the case was alleviated, and the rashes disappeared.CONCLUSION For patients with advanced stage MZL not benefiting from type I anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody(mAb)combination therapy, switching to a type II anti-CD20 mAb combination regimen may be considered. This approach may provide a new perspective in the treatment of MZL.
文摘To the Editor:Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)is a rare subgroup of B-cell nonHodgkin’s lymphoma(NHL)that occurs in approximately 6%of NHL patients.Chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis may promote hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)development. Here,we report an even rarer case with coexisting HCC and MCL.
文摘BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)eradication treatment for primary gastric mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphoma has already been established.However,t(11;18)(q21;q21)/API2-MALT1 translocation-positive lesions are a type of primary gastric MALT lymphoma in which a response to eradication treatment is difficult to achieve. In addition, trisomy 18 may be associated with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)transformation of gastric MALT lymphoma.CASE SUMMARY A 66-year-old man was diagnosed with MALT lymphoma in the ascending colon by colonoscopy and biopsy. Two years later, esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed chronic atrophic gastritis that was positive for H.pylori, and eradication treatment was administered. Two years and nine months later(at the age of 70),a new ulcerative lesion suggestive of MALT lymphoma appeared in the gastric body, and six months later,a similar lesion was also found in the fundus. One year later(4 years and 3 months after H.pylori eradication),at the age of 72,the lesion in the gastric body had become deeper and had propagated.A biopsy revealed a pathological diagnosis of DLBCL.Both MALT lymphoma lesions in the ascending colon and DLBCL lesions in the stomach were positive for the t(11;18)(q21;q21)/API2-MALT1 translocation, and trisomy 18q21 was also detected. After 6 courses of R-CHOP(rituximab,cyclophosphamide,doxorubicin,vincristine and prednisone)chemotherapy, all of the above lesions disappeared[complete remission(CR)],and CR has been maintained for more than 3 years. In addition, both the colonic and gastric lesions were proven to have the same clonality.CONCLUSION Because the patient had a MALT1 translocation with trisomy 18q21,it was thought that this gastric MALT lymphoma developed independently of H.pylori infection and progressed.
文摘Dear Editor,We present a rare case of a primary penile follicular center non-Hodgkin lymphoma and a review of the available literature on this condition.A BCL2 gene transposition which was identified with fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH)molecular analysis is a unique manifestation not previously reported to the best of our knowledge.A 67-year-old man presented with a 3-month history of a small nodule on the left side of the corona of glans penis. The patient had no significant medical or family history. The patient underwent excision and biopsy of the penile lesion with a 0.5 cm macroscopic margin under local anesthesia and sedation. He was discharged on the day of surgery, and there were no postoperative complications or adverse events. The informed consent was obtained from thepatient.
文摘BACKGROUND Chemotherapy for malignant tumors can cause brain changes and cognitive impairment, leading to chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment(CICI).Current research on CICI has focused on breast cancer and Hodgkin’s lymphoma.Whether patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma(NHL)undergoing chemo-therapy have cognitive impairment has not been fully investigated.therapy have cognitive impairment has not been fully investigated.AIM To investigate whether NHL patients undergoing chemotherapy had cognitive impairments.METHODS The study included 100 NHL patients who were required to complete a compre-hensive psychological scale including the Brief Psychiatric Examination Scale(MMSE)at two time points:before chemotherapy and within 2 wk of two chemo-therapy courses.A language proficiency test(VFT),Symbol Number Pattern Test(SDMT),Clock Drawing Test(CDT),Abbreviated Daily Cognition Scale(ECog-12),Prospective and Retrospective Memory Questionnaire, and Karnofsky Perfor-mance Status were used to assess cognitive changes before and after chemo-therapy.RESULTS The VFT scores for before treatment(BT)and after treatment(AT)groups were 45.20±15.62,and 42.30±17.53,respectively(t-2.16,P<0.05).The CDT scores were 8(3.5-9.25)for BT and 7(2.5-9)for AT groups(Z-2.1,P<0.05).Retrospective memory scores were 13.5(9-17)for BT and 15(13-18)for AT(Z-3.7,P<0.01).The prospective memory scores were 12.63±3.61 for BT and 14.43±4.32 for AT groups(t-4.97,P<0.01).The ECog-12 scores were 1.71(1.25-2.08)for BT and 1.79(1.42-2.08)for AT groups(Z-2.84,P<0.01).The SDMT and MMSE values did not show a significant difference between BT and AT groups.CONCLUSION Compared to the AT group, the BT group showed impaired language, memory, and subjective cognition, but objec-tive cognition and execution were not significantly affected.
