Performed simulations study the effect of apodization using diffe...This paper exploits the Rayleigh integral method to simulate the propagation of transmitted ultrasonic waves and received echoes through various media. Performed simulations study the effect of apodization using different types of windows and the effect of medium properties on the reflections obtained. All estimations are done using the Rayleigh integral method simplified by the Fresnel approximation. Five different interfaces are considered: tissue-bone-tissue, tissue-fat-bone, fat-muscle-bone, air-fat-bone and water-fat-bone. The apodization simulations show that the hamming window is more efficient than the rectangular and triangular windows for obtaining a more consistent beam. In the second set of simulations, reflections are mapped with respect to the depth from which these reflections are generated. It demonstrates that the solid and water media allow for the attainment of echoes from deeper regions as compared to the air medium. Matlab is used as the simulation framework.展开更多

A flotation column is a nonlinear, multi-variable problem with changeable parameters that traditional methods have difficulty controlling. We have applied fuzzy control methods to the flotation column and tested the performance of the design by Matlab/Simulink simulation. The simulations show that level control in the flotation column becomes smoother and more rapid with the fuzzy controller. Compared to PID control methods the overshoot in valve position, the adjustment time, and the robustness of the controller are all improved. This indicates that it is suitable to model fuzzy controllers in applications for the study of automatic control of flotation column.展开更多

These methods are based on primary maximizing Max(F)Ent measure for fixed moment vector function in order to obtain the special functional with maximum values of Max(F)Ent measure and secondary optimization of mentioned functional with respect to moment vector functions. Distributions, in other words sets of successive values of estimated membership function closest to (furthest from) the given membership function in the sense of Max(F)Ent measure, obtained by mentioned methods are defined as (MinMax(F)Ent)m which is closest to a given membership function and (MaxMax(F)Ent)m which is furthest from a given membership function. The aim of this study consists of applying MinMax(F)EntM and MaxMax(F)EntM on given wind speed data. Obtained results are realized by using MATLAB programme. Particle size distributions of obtained samples from several sampling campaigns were determined and raw data were mass balanced before being used in simulation studies.After determination of breakage function,selectio...Particle size distributions of obtained samples from several sampling campaigns were determined and raw data were mass balanced before being used in simulation studies.After determination of breakage function,selection function,Bond work index,residence time distribution parameters,and Whiten's model parameters for air separators and diaphragms between the two compartments of tube ball mills,performance of the circuits was simulated for given throughputs and feed particle size distribution.Whiten's model parameters were determined by GA(genetic algorithm) toolbox of MATLAB software.Based on implemented models for modeling and simulation,optimization of circuits was carried out.It increased nearly 10.5% and 15.8% in fresh feed capacity input to each tube ball mill.In addition,circulating load ratios of circuits are modified to 118% and 127% from low level of 57% and 22%,respectively,and also cut points of air separators are adjusted at 30 and 40 μm from high range of 53 and 97 μm,respectively.All applications helped in well-operation and energy consumption reduction of equipments.展开更多

However, automated CNC (computer numerical control) programming by milling machine is intended to use for special required conditions of programming of tool path length, and analysis of cutting force and optimization of main parameters are presented. Some effective simplification of automated programming is done for cutting force. The cutting force is modelled and analyzed into mathematical simulations in order to optimize the main cutting parameters, also in this case tool path length, it is get as free trajectory. Optimization is carried out by using the Matlab/Genetic Algorithm method that excessively reduce the time and to optimize the main cutting parameters of machining. The number of experiments, measurements and results of cutting force (F~), are presented in 3D as well as in tables. In order to verify the accuracy of the 3 D simulation with optimization method, the results are compared in experimental and theoretical way. In other word, these results indicate directly that the optimized parameters are capable of machining the workpiece. Achieved results that are presented in this paper may in general help the new researcher as well as manufacturing industries of metal cutting.展开更多
Due to the ubiquitous open air links and complex electromagnetic environment in the satellite communications,how to ensure the security and reliability of the information through the satellite communications is an urg...Due to the ubiquitous open air links and complex electromagnetic environment in the satellite communications,how to ensure the security and reliability of the information through the satellite communications is an urgent problem.This paper combines the AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) with LDPC(Low Density Parity Check Code) to design a secure and reliable error correction method — SEEC(Satellite Encryption and Error Correction).This method selects the LDPC codes,which is suitable for satellite communications,and uses the AES round key to control the encoding process,at the same time,proposes a new algorithm of round key generation.Based on a fairly good property in error correction in satellite communications,the method improves the security of the system,achieves a shorter key size,and then makes the key management easier.Eventually,the method shows a great error correction capability and encryption effect by the MATLAB simulation.展开更多

Several automated screening techniques are used to detect individual lesions in the retina. Still it takes more dependency of time and experts. To overcome those problems and also automatically detect DR in easier and faster way, we took into soft computing approaches in our proposed work. Our proposed work will discuss several amounts of soft computing algorithms, it can detect DR features (landmark and retinal lesions) in an easy manner. Processes includes are: (1) Pre-processing; (2) Optic disc localization and segmentation; (3) Localization of fovea; (4) Blood vessel segmentation; (5) Feature extraction; (6) Feature selection; Finally (7) detection of diabetic retinopathy stages (mild, moderate, severe and PDR). Our experimental results based on Matlab simulation and it takes databases of STARE and DRIVE. The aim of the reactive navigation is to prescribe behavior to the robot based on actual sensor values that is collision-free. Analysis of reactive navigation methods shows that there is no reliable reactive collision-free method. However, method VFH+ is suboptimal reactive navigation method for static environment. Original method was proposed for ultrasonic rangefinders. Nowadays, much more sophisticated sensors are available. That is why our modification is proposed for a laser rangefinder attached to indoor mobile robot. Results are presented as simulation in Matlab and also as experiments with real robot. Based on these experiments, it can be claimed that VFH+ is very effective reactive navigation method for various sensors and environments and it can be modified for different requirements on robot behavior.展开更多
In order to differentiate regions, varieties, and parts of tobacco leaves, two pattern recognition methods through pattern classification modeling were developed based on the comprehensive information of ultraviolet-v...In order to differentiate regions, varieties, and parts of tobacco leaves, two pattern recognition methods through pattern classification modeling were developed based on the comprehensive information of ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS) by employing one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA1) and wave range random combination (WRRC) technology from MATLAB. This proposed classification method has never been reported previously and the instrument and operation for this method is much more convenient and efficient than previous reported classification methods. The result of this paper demonstrated that the spectral features extracted by ANOVAI and WRRC methods could be used to differentiate tobacco leaves with different patterns. The ANOVAI method had a training recognition rate range of 75.00-87.50%,4 and a validation recognition rate range of 57.14-100%. The WRRC method had a training recognition rate range of 75.00-94.12% and a validation recognition rate range of 66.67-100%. The ANOVAI method is more convenient and efficient in model developing, while the WRRC method utilizes fewer model variables and is more robust.展开更多
