Owing to the ubiquity of wireless networks and the popularity of WiFi infrastructures,received signal strength(RSS)-based indoor localization systems have received much attention.The placement of access points(APs)sig...Owing to the ubiquity of wireless networks and the popularity of WiFi infrastructures,received signal strength(RSS)-based indoor localization systems have received much attention.The placement of access points(APs)significantly influences localization accuracy and network access.However,the indoor scenario and network access are not fully considered in previous AP placement optimization methods.This study proposes a practical scenario modelingaided AP placement optimization method for improving localization accuracy and network access.In order to reduce the gap between simulation-based and field measurement-based AP placement optimization methods,we introduce an indoor scenario modeling and Gaussian process-based RSS prediction method.After that,the localization and network access metrics are implemented in the multiple objective particle swarm optimization(MOPSO)solution,Pareto front criterion and virtual repulsion force are applied to determine the optimal AP placement.Finally,field experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed indoor scenario modeling method and RSS prediction model.A thorough comparison confirms the localization and network access improvement attributed to the proposed anchor placement method.展开更多
Real-time prediction of excavation-induced displacement of retaining pile during the deep excavation process is crucial for construction safety.This paper proposes a modified back analysis method with multi-objective ...Real-time prediction of excavation-induced displacement of retaining pile during the deep excavation process is crucial for construction safety.This paper proposes a modified back analysis method with multi-objective optimization procedure,which enables a real-time prediction of horizontal displacement of retaining pile during construction.As opposed to the traditional stage-by-stage back analysis,time series monitoring data till the current excavation stage are utilized to form a multi-objective function.Then,the multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm is applied for parameter identification.The optimized model parameters are immediately adopted to predict the excavation-induced pile deformation in the continuous construction stages.To achieve efficient parameter optimization and real-time prediction of system behavior,the back propagation neural network (BPNN) is established to substitute the finite element model,which is further implemented together with MOPSO for automatic operation.The proposed approach is applied in the Taihu tunnel excavation project,where the effectiveness of the method is demonstrated via the comparisons with the site monitoring data.The method is reliable with a prediction accuracy of more than 90%.Moreover,different optimization algorithms,including non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II),Pareto Envelope-based Selection Algorithm II (PESA-II) and MOPSO,are compared,and their influences on the prediction accuracy at different excavation stages are studied.The results show that MOPSO has the best performance for high dimensional optimization task.展开更多

Shared manufacturing is recognized as a new point-to-point manufac-turing mode in the digital era.Shared manufacturing is referred to as a new man-ufacturing mode to realize the dynamic allocation of manufacturing tas...Shared manufacturing is recognized as a new point-to-point manufac-turing mode in the digital era.Shared manufacturing is referred to as a new man-ufacturing mode to realize the dynamic allocation of manufacturing tasks and resources.Compared with the traditional mode,shared manufacturing offers more abundant manufacturing resources and flexible configuration options.This paper proposes a model based on the description of the dynamic allocation of tasks and resources in the shared manufacturing environment,and the characteristics of shared manufacturing resource allocation.The execution of manufacturing tasks,in which candidate manufacturing resources enter or exit at various time nodes,enables the dynamic allocation of manufacturing tasks and resources.Then non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA-II)and multi-objective particle swarm optimization(MOPSO)algorithms are designed to solve the model.The optimal parameter settings for the NSGA-II and MOPSO algorithms have been obtained according to the experiments with various population sizes and iteration numbers.In addition,the proposed model’s efficiency,which considers the entries and exits of manufacturing resources in the shared manufacturing environment,is further demonstrated by the overlap between the outputs of the NSGA-II and MOPSO algorithms for optimal resource allocation.展开更多
