Decision making is one of the important activities of the managerial problems. Scientific methodology for quantitative techniques is an essential tool in the contemporary decision making protocols. In this paper an attempt is made to develop a stochastic model on manager’s performance appraisal. Managerial choice among the available options for decision making is formulated to obtain the stochastic process, to derive the model and to obtain statistical measures. Numerical illustrations are provided for understanding the managerial performance and its evaluation. This study is useful to assess the abilities of an employee by his/her employer. Development of Desktop automations to this study will open a wide spectrum of dynamic Decision Support Systems.

The Development of Managerial Assumptions about Human Nature in China： A Tale from Quanzhou

How managers’ knowledge and beliefs of human nature are formed and manifested has not been fully explored in the context of Chinese society going through rapid transition nowadays. And yet this could be the missing link in our discourse on Chinese managers. Based on a qualitative study conducted in Quanzhou, China, this study found certain assumptions of human nature that are deeply embedded in their managers’ intellectual framework, which in turn guide their managerial behaviours in diverse aspects of their work. Unless the managers are prepared to examine their own thoughts, especially those at the sub-conscious level, they would remain prisoners of their own thought, and all the efforts directed at transforming managers would be seriously compromised.

Quality of Diabetes Annual Management in the Internal Medicine Department in Yalgado Ouédraogo Teaching Hospital, Ouagadougou

Introduction: The periodic management of diabetes improves disease’s prognosis. We aimed to evaluate the quality of diabetes annual management and the effectiveness of its treatment in Ouagadougou. Material and Method: It was a cross-sectional and descriptive study, from retrospective records in the internal medicine department, Yalgado Ouédraogo Teaching Hospital (CHU-YO). Diabetic patient’s (15 years old and more) files that were registered between January, 2012 and December, 2016 have been analyzed. Files containing less than 80% data were excluded. Data relating to the baseline characteristics of the patients, the therapeutic education dispensation, the clinical and paraclinical assessment of the initial and annual visits at the first year of patient’s follow-up have been collected. The 2007 diabetes management standards of the French “Haute Autorité de Santé” as well as the biological standards of the same instance have been used. The quantitative variables were expressed as means and standard deviations and qualitative variables were expressed as absolute and relative frequencies. Results: 317 patients, including 218 women (68.77%) were studied. The mean age of women was 51.67 ± 12.46 years, and that of men 55.71 ± 10.63. Diabetes was type 2 in 302 (95.26%) patients. The mean duration since the diagnosis of diabetes was 2.9 years. The completeness rate of therapeutic education at the annual visit was 10.46%. That of the clinical examinations was at best 38.17% and 44.23% for the measurement of weight and blood pressure;otherwise it was less than 5%. About the paraclinical data, apart from the measurement of the fasting blood glucose which completeness rate was 71.61%, that of the others exams were less than 10%. At the annual visit, the mean value of HbA1C was 7.5%, and the target for HbA1C was achieved in 47.90% patients. Conclusion: The quality of diabetes annual management is unsatisfying. A structural improvement and the adaptation of guidelines are needed.

MANAGEMENT OF MENEERE'S DISEASE—THE BEIJING TIANTAN HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE

Objective To report outcomes of nonsurgical and surgical management of Menire＇s disease at Beijing Tiantan Hospital. Methods Patients with Menire＇s disease were categorized into groups based on hearing and quality of life. Individualized management was provided, including life style modification, drug therapies, endolymphatic sac decompression and labyrin- thectomy. Treatment outcomes were evaluated during up to 24 months follow up. Results Eighty seven patients underwent life style modification and drug therapies. The vertigo control rate of Grade A and B was 76.9% and 83.8% respectively. Six patients received surgical management, including endolymphatic sac decompression （n = 5） and labyrinthecto- my （n = 1）. For these patients, the vertigo control rate of Grade A and B was 80% and 100%, respectively. Conclu- lsions Management of Meni6re＇s disease depends on several factors, i.e. severities of vertigo and hearing loss, quality of life, surgical contraindications and patient subjective desire. The treatment is drug therapies for the majority of patients, as well as life style modification. Surgical indications are rare and the least invasive procedures should be considered first. The results of surgery are generally satisfying.

Development of PC Worker’s Management System in PC Training Room and Office by Using IoT Technology

At present time, there has been a demand for management systems that can survey and monitor a PC （personal computer） practice room, movement of people in an office, situation of utilization of facilities and so on in real time without causing psychological stress. For example, PC administrators in Japanese national educational institutions must report operation status of PC practice rooms once a year. But, there is currently no system for automatically recording PC operating situations. Therefore, the burden on the PC administrators is big. In this study, we aimed at systems for accurately managing the sitting and work time without psychologically stressing PC users. This time, we propose uniform management systems of sitting and work time using smart tap node and mat sensor node by IoT （Internet of Things） technology. The smart tap was connected to PCs to acquire the operating status of the PCs. In parallel with this smart tap, the mat sensor was used to acquire human presence state. By calculating binary data representing the PC operating status and human presence state from the two sensing data （smart tap and mat sensor） by the proposed technique, we can exactly calculate wasteful power consumption etc. The use of IoT technology makes it unnecessary to use large installation services when introducing our system. Therefore, this our proposal system can be easily installed even by unskilled workers.

Some method on the evaluation of management’s effect should be applied to 5S of manufacturing enterprises’ workshops.To improve traditional methods that are applied to evaluation of management’s effect of those enterprises,the paper applied the level 2 fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to the new method and detailedly demonstrated the new method that based on the level 2 fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model with a practical example.In a period of production,managers can easily grasp the macroscopic effect of 5S with the new method,and then make some corresponding measures according to certain actual condition.

Enhancing the powering ability of triboelectric nanogenerator through output signal’s management strategies

As a new branch of efficient and low-cost mechanical energy conversion technology,triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)is a potential solution to provide a long-term power supply for the Internet of Things(IoT)sensors and portable electronic devices.However,due to inherent working properties of TENG itself such as extremely high internal impedance,pulse,and alternating current(AC)output,TENG can not directly supply power to loads such as batteries efficiently.Based on these,we describe TENG’s performance from a new perspective of powering ability.It consists of two aspects:the ability to transport charge effectively and the ability to output high power quality current steadily.In order to push forward the developments and applications of TENG,it is necessary to improve its power supply capacity from different perspectives.Fortunately,in recent years,a variety of output signal’s management strategies aiming at effectively managing the generated electricity and significantly improving powering ability of TENG have obtained significantly progress.Herein,this paper discusses the working mechanisms and different load characteristics of TENG at first to clarify the electric performance of TENG.Then,on basis of theoretical analysis,the output signal’s management strategies are elaborated from four aspects:improving the cycle output electricity of TENG,increasing the surface charge density of TENG,improving the power quality of TENG-based energy harvesting system,promoting the application of TENG through integrated circuit(IC)technology and TENG network,and the relevant principles and applications are discussed systematically.Finally,the advantages and disadvantages of the above output signal’s management strategies are summarized and discussed,and the future development of the output signal’s management strategies for TENG is prospected.

Wilson's Disease in China

Wilson＇s disease（WD） is an autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism. Its incidence is higher in China than in western countries. ATP7 B is the causative gene and encodes a P-type ATPase, which participates in the synthesis of holoceruloplasmin and copper excretion. Disease-causing variants of ATP7 B disrupt the normal structure or function of the enzyme and cause copper deposition in multiple organs,leading to diverse clinical manifestations. Given the variety of presentations, misdiagnosis is not rare. Genetic diagnosis plays an important role and has gradually become a routine test in China. The first Chinese spectrum of disease-causing mutations of ATP7 B has been established. As a remediable hereditary disorder, most WD patients have a good prognosis with an early diagnosis and chelation treatment. However, clinical trials are relatively few in China, and most treatments are based on the experience of experts and evidences from other countries. It is necessary to study and develop appropriate regimens specific for Chinese WD patients.

How Did China Maintain Macroeconomic Stability During 1978-2018?

In this paper,we analyze the role of macroeconomic management in developing countries'economic take-off and structural transformation.We argue that developing countries face three leading challenges:market immaturity,lack of a developed financial system,and severe information asymmetry between international investors and domestic players.If not properly dealt with,these challenges can lead to macroeconomic volatility and fragility in economic development.Therefore,the government must intervene appropriately to address these challenges.By analyzing China s experiences in the era of reform and opening up(1978-2018),we find three important lessons:(i)It is important for the government to facilitate the entry and exit of enterprises in macroeconomic cycles,relying not only on market signals but also on administrative orders and measures of institutional reform;(ii)Financial reforms should be implemented in order to promote financial deepening and channel savings into investment;and(iii)The government should carefully manage capital account liberalization in order to preserve financial stability while promoting foreign investment,international trade,and industrial upgrading.
