However, this locality has significant photovoltaic energy potential. Nevertheless, the evaluation of the electrical performance showed the dependence of the population on these fluctuations, which could be bypassed or suppressed. In most cases, the blackout occurs during high energy demand. In this paper, a method for evaluating electrical efficiency is proposed and its credibility has been demonstrated on the one hand, and on the other hand, a renewable energy production system is proposed. The Homer software has made possible the analysis of the proposed system and its impact on the environment has also been carried out. The techno-economic study of the system has proved that a solar photovoltaic farm associated with an energy storage system, with a capacity of 47 MW, can meet the energy demand of the town of Maroua. This alternative is profitable for this locality which lives in a precarious situation and a continuous need.展开更多

The current work focuses on the evaluation of Maroua soils and their potential usage in the manufacturing of Compressed earth blocks (CEB). Four sites (Frolina, Goubeou, Mambang, and Djoulgouf) were chosen to conduct this study. One sample was collected at each location. Physico-chemical and mineralogical characteristics were obtained by using particle size, Atterberg limits, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray fluorescence analysis. Results revealed that sand is the most abundant fraction (36.9% - 50.5%) followed by clay (22.1% - 28.4%) and silt (11.3% - 23.8%). They mostly correspond to sandy soils. Liquid and Plastic limits range between 22.6% to 41% and 16.1% to 24.9% respectively and the plasticity index spans from 6.5% to 20.3%. Plasticity is low for Mambang and Djoulgouf and medium for Goubeou and Frolina soils. Mineralogical composition revealed the presence of smectite, kaolinite, and illite as clay minerals, associated with variable amounts of quartz, goethite, and K-feldspars. Geochemical analyses indicate a high silica content (47.1% - 72.8%) followed by alumina (10.9% - 22.8%) and iron (6.4% - 13.2%). The mineralogical, chemical and physical properties of the studied soils revealed that they are suitable for the manufacture of CEB according to the Cameroon Standards of CEB.展开更多

This scientific work has the advantage of providing a solution to the housing of the Sahel area. On the other hand, this study can effectively serve as the basis of data in the formulation of ceramics from clay Maroua, in the region of the Far North Cameroon, for a large-scale industrial operation. Thus, two samples of materials respectively KO1 and IP2 have been the subject of a preliminary chemical and mineralogical size rheological study. Once formed, the tubes containing the KO1 and PI2 materials have undergone heat treatment at successive temperatures of 900°C, 1000°C and 1100°C. The baked products obtained have also been the subject of a study of resonance, coloring density, loss on ignition, water absorption, linear shrinkage, porosity and mechanical compression.展开更多

This C130 aircraft accident took place under bad weather conditions. This bad weather is diagnosed using the models as CFS, GFS and GEFS that reanalyze outputs of the results. At the end of this re-analysis, the result obtained shows that the event which took place at the Maroua-Salak airport was predictable. However, the analysis of these results has made it possible to present the rainfall cumul between 05 and 10 mm for this day. In addition, a comparative study of the rainfall cumul obtained by the CFS, GFS and GEFS models and that estimated by the satellites has been carried out. These models can significantly improve the prevention of such disasters in the region.展开更多
