However, limited accessibility to the injury sites, complicated histological and anatomical structure, intricate cellular and extracellular milieu, lack of regenerative capacity in the native cells, vast variety of damage routes, and the insufficient time available for treatment have restricted the widespread application of several therapeutic methods in cases of central nervous system injury. Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine have emerged as innovative approaches in the field of nerve regeneration. By combining biomaterials, stem cells, and growth factors, these approaches have provided a platform for developing effective treatments for neural injuries, which can offer the potential to restore neural function, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the need for drugs and invasive surgical procedures. Biomaterials have shown advantages in promoting neural development, inhibiting glial scar formation, and providing a suitable biomimetic neural microenvironment, which makes their application promising in the field of neural regeneration. For instance, bioactive scaffolds loaded with stem cells can provide a biocompatible and biodegradable milieu. Furthermore, stem cells-derived exosomes combine the advantages of stem cells, avoid the risk of immune rejection, cooperate with biomaterials to enhance their biological functions, and exert stable functions, thereby inducing angiogenesis and neural regeneration in patients with traumatic brain injury and promoting the recovery of brain function. Unfortunately, biomaterials have shown positive effects in the laboratory, but when similar materials are used in clinical studies of human central nervous system regeneration, their efficacy is unsatisfactory. Here, we review the characteristics and properties of various bioactive materials, followed by the introduction of applications based on biochemistry and cell molecules, and discuss the emerging role of biomaterials in promoting neural regeneration. Further, we summarize the adaptive biomaterials infused with exosomes produced from stem cells and stem cells themselves for the treatment of traumatic brain injury. Finally, we present the main limitations of biomaterials for the treatment of traumatic brain injury and offer insights into their future potential.展开更多

Finally, we present the main limitations of biomaterials for the treatment of traumatic brain injury and offer insights into their future potential.

文摘Antimony-based anodes have attracted wide attention in potassium-ion batteries due to their high theoretical specific capacities(∼660 mA h g^(-1))and suitable voltage platforms. However, severe capacity fading caused by huge volume change and limited ion transportation hinders their practical applications.Recently, strategies for controlling the morphologies of Sb-based materials to improve the electrochemical performances have been proposed.Among these, the two-dimensional Sb(2D-Sb)materials present excellent properties due to shorted ion immigration paths and enhanced ion diffusion.Nevertheless, the synthetic methods are usually tedious, and even the mechanism of these strategies remains elusive, especially how to obtain large-scale 2D-Sb materials.Herein,a novel strategy to synthesize 2D-Sb material using a straightforward solvothermal method without the requirement of a complex nanostructure design is provided. This method leverages the selective adsorption of aldehyde groups in furfural to induce crystal growth, while concurrently reducing and coating a nitrogen-doped carbon layer.Compared to the reported methods,it is simpler, more efficient, and conducive to the production of composite nanosheets with uniform thickness(3–4 nm).The 2D-Sb@NC nanosheet anode delivers an extremely high capacity of 504.5 mA h g^(-1) at current densities of 100 mA g^(-1) and remains stable for more than 200 cycles.Through characterizations and molecular dynamic simulations, how potassium storage kinetics between 2D Sb-based materials and bulk Sb-based materials are explored, and detailed explanations are provided. These findings offer novel insights into the development of durable 2D alloy-based anodes for next-generation potassium-ion batteries.

文摘With increasing drilling depth and large dosage of weighting materials, drilling fluids with high solid content are characterized by poor stability, high viscosity, large water loss, and thick mud cake, easier leading to reservoir damage and wellbore instability. In this paper, micronized barite(MB)was modified(mMB)by grafting with hydrophilic polymer onto the surface through the free radical polymerization to displace conventional API barite partly. The suspension stability of water-based drilling fluids(WBDFs)weighted with API barite:mMB=2:1 in 600 g was significantly enhanced compared with that with API barite/WBDFs,exhibiting the static sag factor within 0.54 and the whole stability index of 2.The viscosity and yield point reached the minimum, with a reduction of more than 40%compared with API barite only at the same density.Through multi-stage filling and dense accumulation of weighting materials and clays, filtration loss was decreased, mud cake quality was improved, and simultaneously it had great reservoir protection performance, and the permeability recovery rate reached 87%.In addition,it also effectively improved the lubricity of WBDFs.The sticking coefficient of mud cake was reduced by 53.4%,and the friction coefficient was 0.2603.Therefore,mMB can serve as a versatile additive to control the density, rheology, filtration, and stability of WBDFs weighted with API barite, thus regulating comprehensive performance and achieving reservoir protection capacity. This work opened up a new path for the productive drilling of extremely deep and intricate wells by providing an efficient method for managing the performance of high-density WBDFs.

文摘Layered oxide is a promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries because of its high-capacity,high operating voltage, and simple synthesis.Cycling performance is an important criterion for evaluating the application prospects of batteries. However, facing challenges, including phase transitions, ambient stability, side reactions, and irreversible anionic oxygen activity, the cycling performance of layered oxide cathode materials still cannot meet the application requirements. Therefore, this review proposes several strategies to address these challenges.First, bulk doping is introduced from three aspects:cationic single doping, anionic single doping, and multi-ion doping.Second, homogeneous surface coating and concentration gradient modification are reviewed. In addition, methods such as mixed structure design, particle engineering,high-entropy material construction, and integrated modification are proposed. Finally,a summary and outlook provide a new horizon for developing and modifying layered oxide cathode materials.

文摘A three-scale constitutive model for unsaturated granular materials based on thermodynamic theory is presented. The three-scale yield locus, derived from the explicit yield criterion for solid matrix,is developed from a series of discrete interparticle contact planes. The three-scale yield locus is sensitive to porosity changes;therefore,it is reinterpreted as a corresponding constitutive model without phenomenological parameters.Furthermore,a water retention curve is proposed based on special pore morphology and experimental observations. The features of the partially saturated granular materials are well captured by the model.Under wetting and isotropic compression, volumetric compaction occurs, and the degree of saturation increases. Moreover, the higher the matric suction, the greater the strength, and the smaller the volumetric compaction.Compared with the phenomenological Barcelona basic model, the proposed three-scale constitutive model has fewer parameters;virtually all parameters have clear physical meanings.

文摘Porous organic molecular materials(POMMs)are an emergent class of molecular-based materials characterized by the formation of extended porous frameworks, mainly held by non-covalent interactions.POMMs represent a variety of chemical families, such as hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks, porous organic salts, porous organic cages,C-H···πmicroporous crystals, supramolecular organic frameworks,π-organic frameworks,halogen-bonded organic framework, and intrinsically porous molecular materials. In some porous materials such as zeolites and metal organic frameworks, the integration of multiscale has been adopted to build materials with multifunctionality and optimized properties. Therefore, considering the significant role of hierarchy in porous materials and the growing importance of POMMs in the realm of synthetic porous materials,we consider it appropriate to dedicate for the first time a critical review covering both topics.Herein,we will provide a summary of literature examples showcasing hierarchical POMMs,with a focus on their main synthetic approaches, applications, and the advantages brought forth by introducing hierarchy.

文摘The electron's charge and spin degrees of freedom are at the core of modern electronic devices. With the in-depth investigation of two-dimensional materials, another degree of freedom, valley, has also attracted tremendous research interest. The intrinsic spontaneous valley polarization in two-dimensional magnetic systems, ferrovalley material, provides convenience for detecting and modulating the valley. In this review, we first introduce the development of valleytronics. Then, the valley polarization forms by the p-, d-, and f-orbit that are discussed. Following, we discuss the investigation progress of modulating the valley polarization of two-dimensional ferrovalley materials by multiple physical fields, such as electric, stacking mode, strain, and interface. Finally, we look forward to the future developments of valleytronics.

文摘One objective of developing machine learning(ML)-based material models is to integrate them with well-established numerical methods to solve boundary value problems(BVPs).In the family of ML models, recurrent neural networks(RNNs)have been extensively applied to capture history-dependent constitutive responses of granular materials, but these multiple-step-based neural networks are neither sufficiently efficient nor aligned with the standard finite element method(FEM).Single-step-based neural networks like the multi-layer perceptron(MLP)are an alternative to bypass the above issues but have to introduce some internal variables to encode complex loading histories. In this work, one novel Frobenius norm-based internal variable, together with the Fourier layer and residual architectureenhanced MLP model,is crafted to replicate the history-dependent constitutive features of representative volume element(RVE)for granular materials. The obtained ML models are then seamlessly embedded into the FEM to solve the BVP of a biaxial compression case and a rigid strip footing case. The obtained solutions are comparable to results from the FEM-DEM multiscale modelling but achieve significantly improved efficiency. The results demonstrate the applicability of the proposed internal variable in enabling MLP to capture highly nonlinear constitutive responses of granular materials.

文摘From the standpoint of chemical structures, the organic backbones of energetic materials can be classified into aromatic rings, nonaromatic rings, and open chains.Although the category of aromatic energetic compounds exhibits several advantages in the regulation of energetic properties, the nonaromatic heterocycles, assembling nitramino explosophores with simple alkyl bridges, still have prevailed in benchmark materials. The methylene bridge plays a pivotal role in the constructions of the classic nonaromatic heterocycle-based energetic compounds,e.g.,hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine(RDX)and octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine(HMX),whereas ethylene bridge is the core moiety of state-of-the-art explosive 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane(CL-20).In this context,it is of great interest to employ simple and practical bridges to assemble aromatic and nonaromatic nitrogen-rich heterocycles, thereby expanding the structural diversity of energetic materials,e.g.,bridged and fused nitrogen-rich poly-heterocycles.Furthermore,alkyl-bridged poly-heterocycles highlight the potential for the open chain type of energetic materials. In this review, the development of alkyl bridges in linking nitrogen-rich heterocycles is presented, and the perspective of the newly constructed energetic backbones is summarized for the future design of advanced energetic materials.
