Control of pH neutralization processes is challenging in the chemical process industry because of their inherent strong nonlinearity. In this paper, the model algorithmic control (MAC) strategy is extended to nonlinear processes using Hammerstein model that consists of a static nonlinear polynomial function followed in series by a linear impulse response dynamic element. A new nonlinear Hammerstein MAC algorithm (named NLH-MAC) is presented in detail. The simulation control results of a pH neutralization process show that NLH-MAC gives better control performance than linear MAC and the commonly used industrial nonlinear propotional plus integral plus derivative (PID) controller. Further simulation experiment demonstrates that NLH-MAC not only gives good control response, but also possesses good stability and robustness even with large modeling errors. 展开更多

Based on the thermodynamics theory, mathematical models for the dynamic performance simulating of aircraft ECS were set up and an ECS simulation toolbox (ECS_1.0) was created with MATLAB language. It consists of main component modules (ducts, valves, heat exchangers, compressor, turbine, etc.). An aircraft environmental control system computer model was developed to assist engineers with the design and development of ECS dynamic optimization. Traditional simulation methods are unable to meet the requirements of lunar takeo simulations, such as high force output precision, low cost, and repeated use. Considering that cable-driven parallel mechanisms have the advantages of high payload to weight ratio, potentially large workspace, and high-speed motion, these mechanisms have the potential to be used for lunar takeo simulations. Thus, this paper presents a parallel mechanism driven by nine cables. The purpose of this study is to optimize the dimensions of the cable-driven parallel mechanism to meet dynamic workspace requirements under cable tension constraints. The dynamic workspace requirements are derived from the kinematical function requests of the lunar takeo simulation equipment. Experimental design and response surface methods are adopted for building the surrogate mathematical model linking the optimal variables and the optimization indices. A set of dimensional parameters are determined by analyzing the surrogate mathematical model. The volume of the dynamic workspace increased by 46% after optimization. Besides, a force control method is proposed for calculating output vector and sinusoidal forces. A force control loop is introduced into the traditional position control loop to adjust the cable force precisely, while controlling the cable length. The e ectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through experiments. A 5% vector output accuracy and 12 Hz undulation force output can be realized. This paper proposes a cable-driven parallel mechanism which can be used for lunar takeo simulation. 展开更多

To satisfy the need of high speed NC (numerical control) machining, an acceleration and deceleration (acc/dec) control model is proposed, and the speed curve is also constructed by the cubic polynomial. The proposed control model provides continuity of acceleration, which avoids the intense vibration in high speed NC machining. Based on the discrete characteristic of the data sampling interpolation, the acc/dec control discrete mathematical model is also set up and the discrete expression of the theoretical deceleration length is obtained furthermore. Aiming at the question of hardly predetermining the deceleration point in acc/dec control before interpolation, the adaptive acc/dec control algorithm is deduced from the expressions of the theoretical deceleration length. The experimental result proves that the acc/dec control model has the characteristic of easy implementation, stable movement and low impact. The model has been applied in multi-axes high speed micro fabrication machining successfully. 展开更多

The supercritical carbon dioxide extraction was applied to obtain essential oil from Pogostemon cablin in this work.Effect of extraction parameters including temperature,pressure,extraction time and particle size on extraction yield was investigated,and the response surface methodology with a Box–Behnken Design was used to achieve the optimized extraction conditions.The maximum yield of essential oil was 2.4356%under the conditions of extraction temperature 47°C,pressure 24.5 MPa and extraction time 119 min.Moreover,based on the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller theory of adsorption,a mathematical modeling was performed to correlate the measured data.The model shows a function relationship between extraction yield and time by a simple equation with three significantly adjustable parameters.These model parameters have been optimized through simulated annealing algorithm.The predicted data from the mathematical model show a good agreement with the experimental data of the different extraction parameters. 展开更多

The basic idea is to find out, from vast historical system input-output data sets, some data sets matching with the current working point, then to develop a local model using Local Polynomial Fitting (LPF) algorithm. With the change of working points, multiple local models are built, which realize the exact modeling for the global system. Suppose that it is hard to get a control-oriented governor mathematical model when the general approaches, the analytical approach or the experimental approach, are applied, and that an open-loop step response of the diesel engine and its system is available by means of computer simulation, the critical three parameters of a governor mathematical model, the proportional gain K_p, integral time constant K_i, and derivative time constant K_d, can be determined by use of PID tuning method which are widely applied in industrial process control. This paper discussed the train of thought of the approach, precondition, procedure, several modifications of the classical PID model, and some points for attention. This study aimed to optimize cross-sectional area of the extruder and the flow rate of the material through the extruder. Extrusion process was first modelized using the continuum mechanics method before being simulated with the commercial software LS-DYNA using the Johnson-Cook model based on the finite element method after optimization of the factors with simplex algorithm. The study was carried out on a connecting rod: diameter of 145 mm, cross-section of 1.65 m<sup>2</sup>, length of 0.25 m, volume of 0.41 m<sup>3</sup> and a mass of 37 kg. Optimum parameters obtained were temperature of 850℃, flow rate of 0.237 m/s, die diameter of 19.2 mm, pin diameter of 14 mm, extrusion strength of 565.6 kN and press pressure of 245 GPa. From these factors, a blank was obtained with external and internal diameters of 19.2 and 14 mm respectively over a length of 28 m with a thickness of 2.6 mm. Simulation using LS-DYNA software resulted in a difference in values of 7.4% between optimization and simulation when the difference of 2.4% was found between modelling and simulation. These values make the process optimal for industrial application to improve the extrusion requirements of copper tubes. 展开更多

Thanks to the emerging integration of algorithms and simulators, recent Driving Simulators (DS) find enormous potential in applications like advanced driver-assistance devices, analysis of driver’s behaviours, research and development of new vehicles and even for entertainment purposes. Driving simulators have been developed to reduce the cost of field studies, allow more flexible control over circumstances and measurements, and safely present hazardous conditions. The major challenge in a driving simulator is to reproduce realistic motions within hardware constraints. Motion Cueing Algorithm (MCA) guarantees a realistic motion perception in the simulator. However, the complex nature of the human perception system makes MCA implementation challenging. The present research aims to improve the performance of driving simulators by proposing and implementing the MCA algorithm as a control problem. The approach is realized using an actual vehicle model integrated with a detailed model of the human vestibular system, which accurately reproduces the driver’s perception. These perception motion signals are compared with simulated ones. A 2-DOF stabilized platform model is used to test the results from the two proposed control strategies, Proportional Integrator and Derivative (PID) and Model Predictive Control (MPC). 展开更多

This problem of minimizing the makespan in single machine scheduling problem with uniform parallel machines is NP hard. Hence, heuristic development for such problem is highly inevitable. In this paper, two different Meta-heuristics to minimize the makespan of the assumed problem are designed and they are compared in terms of their solutions. In the first phase, the simulated annealing algorithm is presented and then GRASP (Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search procedure) is presented to minimize the makespan in the single machine scheduling problem with unrelated parallel machines. A genetic algorithm is adopted to optimize PID control parameters. Meanwhile, the error between the actual value and the setting value of spraying current is selected as the judgment criterion to determine the adaptability for the algorithm. In order to realize optimization and adaptation of the arc-spraying process parameters as well as to reduce blindness in selecting process parameters, a serial communication interface between a PC for spraying data acquisition and a MCU of the control system is designed so that on-line modification of the PID control parameters is implemented. At the same time, a genetic algorithm is adopted to optimize the control parameters of PID controller, where the difference between the actually sampled value and the setting value of spraying current is made as the judgment criterion to determine the adaptability. The given range of control parameters varies from 0 to 15 and is to be encoded by a coding of four-bit binary string. The optimal population of control parameters of the PID controller can be obtained through reproduction, crossing and mutation, so that the optimal controlling in arc-spraying process is realized and an excellent coating of arc spraying is obtained. 展开更多
