In this paper, the WTG is a direct-drive system and includes wind turbine, three-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator, three-phase full bridge rectifier, and buck-bust converter, while the SPVM consist of solar PV modules, buck converter, maximum power tracking system for both systems, and load. Several methods are applied to obtain maximum performances, the appropriate and most effective method is called gradient-approximation method for WTG approach, because it enables the generator to operate at variable wind speeds. Furthermore MPPT also is used to optimized the achieved energy generated by solar PV modules.Matlab / Simulink approach is used to simulate, discuss, and optimized the generated power by varying the duty cycle of the converters, and tip speed ratio of the WTG system.展开更多

As the bit rate of the transmission system gets higher and higher 40 Gb/s to 100 Gb/s the modeling of proposed modulation techniques is very important so as to avoid costly practical demonstration. The search for a universal modeling platform for such systems is urgent. Matlab Simulink has become the universal mathematical and modeling tools in most universities and re-search laboratories around the world. This paper thus describes the modeling techniques for advanced photonic transmission systems and Simulink is proven to be very effective platform for development of photonic communications systems due its comprehensive blocksets. The simulation is based mainly on the physical phenomena and understanding of its concepts of communications and photonics. Simulink models are given as examples of various sub-systems of the photonic transmission systems. Some simulated trans-mission performances are demonstrated as examples of final results obtained from Simulink models of the transmission systems.展开更多

The simulation of the system is developed using MATLAB/Simulink environments, which can be representative of PV cell, module and array for easy use on simulation block. The PV model is developed using basic circuit equations of the photovoltaic solar cells including the effects of irradiation and temperature. The output current and power characteristics of PV model are simulated. The results are provided and presented here.展开更多

Centrifugal pumps are far more ubiquitous than turbines in the turbomachinery market, therefore being more readily available to the consumer. Additionally, they are cheaper. Hydraulic turbines undergo rigorous CFD simulation design and testing to establish their blade geometries and ranges of operation. This results in a refined but very expensive final product. Centrifugal pumps are thus presented as a logical alternative seeing that they can physically perform the same task as a hydropower turbine albeit at a reduced efficiency. This paper presents the results of an analysis and simulation to assess the use of a centrifugal pump as a hydraulic turbine.展开更多
