These methods are also used for deriving mathematical models for BVPs and IVPs associated with isotropic, homogeneous as well as non-homogeneous, non-isotropic continuous matter. In energy methods when applied to IVPs, one constructs energy functional (<i>I</i>) consisting of kinetic energy, strain energy and the potential energy of loads. The first variation of this energy functional (<em>δI</em>) set to zero is a necessary condition for an extremum of <i>I</i>. In this approach one could use <i>δI</i> = 0 directly in constructing computational processes such as the finite element method or could derive Euler’s equations (differential or partial differential equations) from <i>δI</i> = 0, which is also satisfied by a solution obtained from <i>δI</i> = 0. The Euler’s equations obtained from <i>δI</i> = 0 indeed are the mathematical model associated with the energy functional <i>I</i>. In case of BVPs we follow the same approach except in this case, the energy functional <i>I</i> consists of strain energy and the potential energy of loads. In using the principle of virtual work for BVPs and the IVPs, we can also accomplish the same as described above using energy methods. In this paper we investigate consistency and validity of the mathematical models for isotropic, homogeneous and non-isotropic, non-homogeneous continuous matter for BVPs that are derived using energy functional consisting of strain energy and the potential energy of loads. Similar investigation is also presented for IVPs using energy functional consisting of kinetic energy, strain energy and the potential energy of loads. The computational approaches for BVPs and the IVPs designed using energy functional and principle of virtual work, their consistency and validity are also investigated. Classical continuum mechanics (CCM) principles <i>i.e.</i> conservation and balance laws of CCM with consistent constitutive theories and the elements of calculus of variations are employed in the investigations presented in this paper.展开更多

The softening fraction was defined by 2% offset method. The results show that Avrami exponent of about 0.21 is insensitive to deformation temperature, indicating that the action of steel grade should be considered. The time of 50% recrystallization (t0.5) decreases noteworthily with the increase of deformation temperature. Apparent activation energy for static recrystallization of 195 kJ/mol, which is close to that of vanadium microalloyed steel, is obtained by calculating. The increasing trend of the driving force for recrystallization is opposite to that of the deformation temperature, which is attributed to the number of operative slip system increasing as temperature increasing.展开更多

In this study, mechanical properties and secondary work embrittlement of weathering steel 05CuPCrNi were tested at low temperature. Compared to the mechanical properties at room temperature, the yield and tensile strength increase slightly with decreasing temperature. However, the variation of elongation is not obvious. The experimental results also show that the secondary work embrittlement transition temperature of 05CuPCrNi is lower than - 60 ℃. As, especially, the cracks in the rock mass are heavily developed at the limestone quarries in Japan, the joints and/or cracks in the rock mass have big impacts on the blasting effects such as the size of fragmented rocks. Therefore, if the joint system and/or crack density in the rock mass can be known and evaluated in quantity, the blasting operation can be done more effectively, efficiency and safety. However, the guideline for designing the appropriate blasting standard based on the rock mass condition such as mechanical properties, joint system and/or distribution of cracks, discontinuities, from the scientific point of view, has not been developed yet. Therefore, a series of blasting tests had been conducted in different mines and faces, geological conditions and blasting standards in order to know the impacts of each factor on the blasting effects. This paper summarizes the results of blasting tests and describes the impacts of rock mass conditions and blasting standard on the size of fragmented rocks.展开更多

The hardening mechanism changes at different hardening degrees. It is mainly dislocation and slip hardening below the critical impact energy, but it changes to the twinning hardening mechanism when the impact energy is above the critical impact energy.
文摘The virtual displacement principle of elasto-plastic damage mechanics is presented. A linear complementary method for elasto-plastic damage problem is proposed by using FEM technique. This method is applicable to solving the damage structure analysis of hardened and softened nonlinear material.

文摘In order to solve the problems of top-coal inadequate destruction and large amounts of gas emission in mining extra thick and hard coal seam, this study investigated the pre-splitting for deep borehole blasting and gas pre-draining technologies on top coal. The mechanism of the technologies was systematically expounded based on hard top-coal cracks development obtained by numerical simulation and theoretical analysis. The results show that explosive blasting in the hard rock results in a large number of cracks and large displacement in the rock mass due to the effect of explosion stress.Meanwhile, the thick top-coal caves, and desorbing gas flows along the cracks improve gas extraction. Finally, the pre-splitting for deep borehole blasting and gas pre-draining technologies was applied in No.3802 working face of Shui Liandong Coal Mine, which increases monthly output in the face to 67.34 kt and the drained gas concentration to 86.2%.The drained gas average concentration from each borehole reaches 40%,and the effect is remarkable.

文摘Single-layer reticulated dome structure are commonly high-profile building in the public and can be attractive targets for terrorist bombings,so the public can benefit from enhanced safety with a stronger understanding of the behavior of single-layer reticulated dome structure under explosion. This paper investigates the fluid-structure interaction process and the dynamic response performance of the singlelayer reticulated dome under external blast load. Both experimental and numerical results shown that structural deformation is remarkably delayed compared with the velocity of blast wave, which advises the dynamic response of large-span reticulated dome structure has a negligible effect on the blast wave propagation under explosion.Four failure modes are identified by comparing the plastic development of each ring and the residual spatial geometric of the structure,i.e.,minor vibration, local depression, severe damage, and overall collapse. The plastic deformation energy and the displacement potential energy of the structure are the main consumers of the blast energy. In addition, the stress performance of the vertex member and the deep plastic ratio of the whole structure can serve as qualitative indicators to distinguish different failure modes.
文摘Due to the rapid development of China' s rail transportation equipment manufacturing industry and related international distribution, important material suppliers such as Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. carries on investigating the stability of material under extremely cold conditions. These results provide the basis for the use of this train body material in extremely cold regions.
文摘The size distribution of fragmented rocks depends on not only the blasting standard but also the mechanical properties, joint system and crack density of rock mass. This paper summarizes the results of blasting tests and describes the impacts of rock mass conditions and blasting standard on the size of fragmented rocks.
