Tourette syndrome is a common neuropsychiatric disorder that affects the physical and mental health of children.Early detection,diagnosis,and treatment are crucial to prevent serious impacts on the affected children,their families,and society.In recent years,there has been an increasing trend towards using a combination of methods in the clinical treatment of children with Tourette syndrome.This approach has achieved remarkable results,leading to a reduction in the rate of Tourette syndrome symptoms in children.In recent years,a combination of clinical methods has been used to treat children with Tourette syndrome,resulting in significant improvement in control rates.This article reviews the etiology of infantile Tourette syndrome and the progress made in Chinese and Western medicine treatments,providing a reference for further treatment of the condition.

The Influence of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Treatment on the Quality of Life and Laboratory Indicators of Patients with Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia

Objective: To investigate the influence of integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment on the quality of life and laboratory indicators of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19). Methods: A prospective, self-controlled study was conducted to analyze the changes in corresponding laboratory indicators and quality of life in 75 confirmed COVID-19 patients treated with integrated Chinese and Western medicine in our hospital during the early stage, middle stage, recovery period, and two weeks after discharge. The effectiveness and safety of the treatment regimen were evaluated in conjunction with the time for 2019-nCoV nucleic acid conversion, disease progression, and adverse reactions. Results: The PLT levels in the initial stage were significantly lower than those in the recovery period in 75 patients. The CRP levels in the initial stage were significantly lower than those after discharge for 2 weeks. The TBIL, IBTL, and DHIL levels in the initial stage were significantly lower than those in the middle stage. The K+ levels in the initial stage were significantly lower than those in the recovery period and after discharge for 2 weeks. The LYMGH levels in the initial stage were significantly lower than those in the recovery period and after discharge for 2 weeks. The TP and ALB levels in the initial stage were higher than those in the middle stage and the recovery period. The LDH levels, scores of daily activity limitation, scores of respiratory distress symptoms, scores of psychological emotions, CT imaging scores, and positive rate of nucleic acid were significantly lower than those in the recovery period and after discharge for 2 weeks. The AG, CK, CK-MB, and α-HBDH levels in the initial stage were significantly higher than those in the recovery period. However, the AMY level in the initial stage was significantly lower than that in the recovery period and after discharge for 2 weeks (p Conclusion: Integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment has a significant impact on laboratory indicators such as PLT, LYMGH, CRP, TBIL, IBTL, DHIL, TP, ALB, K+, AG, LDH, CK, CK-MB, α-HBDH, AMY, CT imaging, and 2019-nCoV nucleic acid in COVID-19 patients. It has good clinical efficacy and safety, and can improve the quality of life of patients.

Progress in Traditional Chinese and Weste rn Medicine Treatments and Nursing Care of Knee Osteoarthritis

This paper reviews the causes of knee osteoarthritis, traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapies and nursing research progress and indicates that traditional Chinese and Western medicine have gradually recognized the cause of knee osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis has been treated with various treatments and nursing care planning, and the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has constantly been improved. Nurses should instruct the discharged patient to correctly treat their disease, adopt the health education, and, via the establishment of a healthy lifestyle, insist on a functional exercise to relieve the pain, delay disease progression, and improve quality of life.

Current Research Status of Traditional Chinese Medicine External Treatment for Diarrhea Type Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D)with diarrhea is a common gastrointestinal functional disease in clinical practice,which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.Cur‐rently,Western medicine has poor therapeutic effects,while traditional Chinese medi‐cine has unique advantages in relieving IBS-D symptoms and preventing recurrence.In recent years,especially with external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine,it has become a new treatment direction in clinical practice and has achieved good therapeutic effects.This article will provide a review of recent research on the treatment of IBS-D using traditional Chinese medicine external treatment methods.

Research Progress of Traditional Chinese Medicine External Treatment for Cancer Pain

Cancer pain,as a common complication in patients with malignant tumors,is regarded as the fifth vital sign.The involvement of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in the treatment of malignant tumors has become a distinctive feature of oncology treatment in China.It is also an important component of cancer pain management.TCM analgesic treatments include various methods,such as internal medicine and external therapies.External analgesic therapies,in particular,are significant methods in TCM pain management and offer both local treatment and systemic regulation.These methods are simple,easy to perform,and non-invasive.They can enhance pain relief effects while reducing the difficulty of oral medication intake and avoiding adverse gastrointestinal reactions,providing new perspectives and approaches for cancer pain treatment with broad development prospects.This article provides a review of the external TCM therapies for cancer pain to share with peers in the field.

Research Progress in Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Health Management for School-Age Children with Asthma

Objective:The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of Chinese and Western medicine in the health management of school-age children with asthma and its research progress,with a view to providing a more comprehensive and effective management strategy for the clinic.Methods:Using the method of literature review,this study systematically searched and analyzed the relevant studies on the combination of Chinese and Western medicine in the health management of school-aged children with asthma in recent years,focusing on Chinese medicine treatment,Western medicine treatment,and the combined health management of Chinese and Western medicine.Results:Chinese medicine treatment,Western medicine treatment,and the health management mode of combining Chinese and Western medicine showed unique advantages in school-age asthmatic children.Through the comprehensive use of Chinese medicine’s diagnosis and treatment,Chinese medicine conditioning,Chinese medicine characteristic therapy,and Western medicine’s modern medical methods,it not only effectively relieved asthma symptoms but also significantly improved the quality of life of the children.At the same time,this management mode also focuses on the psychological guidance and family care of the children,forming an all-round and multi-level health management system.Conclusion:The health management strategy of combining Chinese and Western medicine has a broad application prospect in school-age asthmatic children,and its specific interventions and mechanisms of action should be further studied to provide more scientific and systematic guidance for clinical practice.

Practical Application and Development Trend of External Treatment of Zhuang Medicine Based on CiteSpace

The external treatment of Zhuang medicine is a treatment method commonly used from outside the human body.The advantages of external treatment methods are easy operation and small side effects.People are more familiar with medicated thread moxibustion,meridian tendon massage,and acupuncture therapy of Zhuang medicine.Although the curative effect of external treatment is significant,it is little known due to insufficient publicity and other factors.The purpose of this project was to comprehensively analyze and organize the latest relevant scientific and technological literature graphs in the study on clinical external treatment of Zhuang medicine using CiteSpace software and adopting the research method of visual literature graph search.Current research status and research development process of the external treatment of Zhuang medicine in Chinese literature were summarized,which has been able to present the current trends and future research prospects of the development and research of external treatment of Zhuang medicine in China in detail and comprehensively.Finally,307 papers were selected and included.Wei Yingcai and Pang Yuzhou were the authors with the largest number of documents and had formed a stable core research team.The analysis showed that Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine published the largest number of research documents,and there was less cooperation between institutions.At present,the research on the external treatment methods of Zhuang medicine is still in the development stage,which provides ideas and reference for quickly mastering the research hotspot of the external treatment method.

Clinical Application of Fast-Track Surgery with Chinese Medicine Treatment in the Devascularization Operation for Cirrhotic Portal Hypertension

Objective： To investigate the clinical effect of fast-track surgery combined with Chinese medicine treatment in devascularization operation for cirrhotic esophageal varices. Methods： Seventy-two patients with cirrhotic esophageal varices were selected from January 2009 to June 2013, and randomly assigned to a conventional group and a fast-track group （fast-track surgery combined with Chinese medicine treatment） using a randomized digital table, 36 cases in each group. Operation and anesthesia recovery time, postoperative hospitalization and quality of life were recorded and compared between groups during the perioperative period. Results： Compared with the conventional group, the fast-track group had longer operation time （253.6±46.4 min vs. 220.6±51.0 min） and anesthesia recovery time （50.5 ± 15.9 rain vs. 23.5± 9.6 min; P〈0.01）; less bleeding （311.3±46.8 mL vs. 356.2 ± 57.5 mL; P〈0.01） and less transfusion （1932.3 ± 106.9 mL vs. 2045.6 ± 115.4 mL; P〈0.01）; as well as faster recovery of gastrointestinal function, shorter postoperative hospitalization and higher quality of life. There were no serious postoperative complications and no further bleeding occurred. Conclusion： Fast-track surgery combined with Chinese medicine treatment is a safe and feasible approach to accelerate the recovery of patients with cirrhotic portal hypertension in perioperative period of devascularization operation.

Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment on Levels of Blocking Antibody, β-hCG, Progesterone and Estradiol in Spontaneous Abortion

Objective: To explore the effect of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on abnormalmaternal-fetal immune and endocrine in 24cases of threatened abortion (TA) and 68 cases of recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA).Methods: The levels of blocking effect (BE),antiidiotype antibody (AIA), cytotoxin antibody (CTA), β-human chorionic gonadotropin(β-hCG), progesterone (P), estradiol (E2)were measured in all 92 patients. Results: Incidence rates of the lack of BE, AIA and CTAin 92 cases were 60. 87%, 57. 61 % and 72.83% respectively. The lower levels of BE,AIA and CTA were elevated significantly (P< 0. 05 ～0. 01 ), and the serial levels β- hCG, P and E2 were markedly increasing (P< 0. 01 ) in all successful pregnant patients.The rate of the successful pregnancy of 92 cases was 89. 13 % (to TA 91. 67%, to RSA 88.24 % respectively). Conclusions: It suggeststhat the lack of blocking antibody (BA) andendocrine hormone deficiency may result inspontaneous abortion during early pregnancy.The therapeutic mechanism of those herbs intreating spontaneous abortion was associatedwith the growing levels of BA and hormone byregulating the maternal-fetal immunity and endocrine.

Progress in the treatment of chronic bronchitis with Chinese and western medicine

Chronic bronchitis is a clinical common disease,which is a chronic nonspecific inflammation of the tracheal and bronchial mucosa and its surrounding tissues caused by a variety of factors.It is clinically characterized by symptoms such as cough,excessive phlegm,shortness of breath,and a recurrent chronic process.Chronic bronchitis has a high incidence and severe symptoms in winter.In severe cases,there are long-term clinical symptoms that impact the patient’s spirit and life.At the same time,the disease causes numerous diseases such as emphysema and pulmonary heart disease.Therefore,patients have an essential need for the treatment of chronic bronchitis.This article tells the etiology,treatment methods,process,prevention,and nursing of the disease from the perspective of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine,respectively.

Chinese medicine in the treatment of intracranial vascular stenosis in 1 case

Intracranial vascular stenosis is closely related to transient ischemic attack （TIA） and cerebral infarction, early prevention and treatment of intracranial vascular stenosis can prevent cerebral infarction and improve the prognosis of stroke. Western medicine employs interventional surgery or vasodilator, antiplatelet drugs, lipid lowering drugs, plaque-stabilizing agents and other drugs for treating intracranial vascular stenosis. No corresponding disease name with “intracranial vascular stenosis” is found in Chinese medicine literature. Based on the characteristics of syndromes, symptoms and diseases, “intracranial vascular stenosis” is summarized as weakened body resistance and prevailed pathogenic factors, phlegm with blood stasis and “obstruction （Bi） syndrome” in the brain. The self-made Chinese herbal “Naomaitong” prescription treating for bilateral middle cerebral artery stenosis in 1 case got satisfactory efficacy by transcranial doppler （TCD） and computed tomography angiography （CTA） examination.

Rheumatic valvular heart disease treated with traditional Chinese medicine:A case report

BACKGROUND Rheumatic heart disease(RHD)is an autoimmune disease that leads to irreversible valve damage and heart failure.Surgery is an effective treatment;however,it is invasive and carries risks,restricting its broad application.Therefore,it is essential to find alternative nonsurgical treatments for RHD.CASE SUMMARY A 57-year-old woman was assessed with cardiac color Doppler ultrasound,left heart function tests,and tissue Doppler imaging evaluation at Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University.The results showed mild mitral valve stenosis with mild to moderate mitral and aortic regurgitation,confirming a diagnosis of rheumatic valve disease.After her symptoms became severe,with frequent ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia>200 beats per minute,her physicians recommended surgery.During a 10-day preoperative waiting period,the patient asked to be treated with traditional Chinese medicine.After 1 week of this treatment,her symptoms improved significantly,including resolution of the ventricular tachycardia,and the surgery was postponed pending further follow-up.At 3-month follow-up,color Doppler ultrasound showed mild mitral valve stenosis with mild mitral and aortic regurgitation.Therefore,it was determined that no surgical treatment was required.CONCLUSION Traditional Chinese medicine treatment effectively relieves symptoms of RHD,particularly mitral valve stenosis and mitral and aortic regurgitation.

Research Progress on Treatment of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding during Puberty with Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine

In recent years,the frequency of clinical occurrence of abnormal uterine bleeding in adolescence has gradually increased.In order to fully understand the research progress in the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding in adolescence,various studies and clinical experience have been reviewed by consulting related literature reports.The results found that currently Western medicine mainly uses hormone drugs in clinical treatment,but there are risks such as more clinical adverse reactions and higher recurrence rate;traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment has achieved satisfactory results,but the advantages of sudden collapse and hemostasis are not obvious.Combined TCM and Western medicine treatment,it can learn from each other and has become a research hotspot in recent years,which is worthy of an in-depth discussion.

Patient-reported Outcomes (PROs): An Approach to Evaluate Treatment Efficacy of Chinese Medicine or Integrative Medicine

Chinese medicine (CM) has been an experience based practice over the past three thousand years. The safety and efficacy of CM has been practised through experience, rather than nowadays’ modern scientific measurements. In this way, the development of CM has not been keeping pace with the advance in science and technology and the progress in orthodox medicine. In order to meet the requirements of modern science and technology, an evidence based approach must be adopted. Reassurance is needed to convince people for safety and efficacy of CM and give confidence to the evidence based demands ——“Tradition is confirmed by Modern Science” (1) .

The Characteristics of the Drug Composition in the Treatment of Insomnia by External Bath Prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicine

[Objectives]The research aimed to carry out a retrospective analysis on the characteristics of the drug composition in the treatment of insomnia by external bath prescription of traditional Chinese medicine,to provide ideas for the research and development of new Chinese medicine for insomnia.[Methods]The external bath prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine related to insomnia were collected,and the appearance frequency of drug was analyzed,and statistical analysis of drug with high appearance frequency was conducted.[Results]In the external bath prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine related to insomnia,the top ten herbs with high appearance frequency were as follows:Chaozaoren,Drgonsbones,Margaritifera,Yejiaoteng,Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus,Lilii Bulbus,Platycladi Semen,Poria,Coptidis Rhizoma,and Scutellariae Radix.According to the classification by efficacy,these herbs mostly have the effects of calming,nourishing and heat clearing.[Conclusions]Traditional Chinese medicine is most closely related to heart,kidney,liver and other viscera.Tranquilizing and sedative drugs should be chosen,which corresponds with the understanding on pathogenesis of insomnia in traditional Chinese medical science,and embodies the characteristics of external bath prescription of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of insomnia.
