However, slow hydrogen absorption/desorption rate and excessive hydrogen absorption/desorption temperature limit the application of Mg-based hydrogen storage materials. The present paper reviews the advances in the research of Mg-based hydrogen storage film in recent years, including the advantage of the film, the function theory of fabricating method and its functional theory, and the influencing factors in the technological process. The research status worldwide is introduced in detail. By comparing pure Mg, Pd-caped Mg, nonpalladium capped Mg, and Mg alloy hydrogen storage films, an ideal tendency for producing Mg-based film is pointed out,for example, looking for a cheap metal element to replace the high-priced Pd, compositing Mg film with other hydrogen storage alloy of catalytic elements, and so on.展开更多

All samples were electrochemically hydrided in a 6 mol/L KOH solution at 80 °C for 240 min. The structures and phase compositions of the alloys were studied using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometry and X-ray diffraction. A temperature-programmed desorption technique was used to measure the absorbed hydrogen and study the dehydriding process. The content of hydrogen absorbed by the MgNi26-MA (approximately 1.3%, mass fraction) was 30 times higher than that of the MgNi26-GC. The MgNi26-RS sample absorbed only 0.1% of hydrogen. The lowest temperature for hydrogen evolution was exhibited by the MgNi26-MA. Compared with pure commercial MgH2, the decomposition temperature was reduced by more than 200 °C. The favourable phase and structural composition of the MgNi26-MA sample were the reasons for the best hydriding and dehydriding properties.展开更多

In this work,Mg2FeH6 complex hydride phase was synthesized by controlled reactive ball milling of 2Mg-Fe (atomic ratio) powder mixture in H2. Mg2FeH6 is confirmed to be formed via the following three stages: form ation of MgH2 via the reaction of Mg with H2,incubation stage and formation of Mg2FeH6 by reaction of fully refined MgH2 and Fe. The incubation stage is characterized by no traces of Mg or hydride crystalline phase by XRD. On the other hand,Mg is observed uniformly distributed in the milled powder by SEM-E DS. Also, almost the same amount of H2 as the first stage is detected stored i n the powders of the second stage by DSC and TGA.展开更多

X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) analyses revealed that two alloys (x=0.0 and 0.10) were composed of (La,Mg)2(Ni,Al)7 phase, La(Ni,A1)5 phase and (La,Mg)Ni2 phase, while other alloys (x=0.15 and 0.20) consisted of (La,Mg)2(Ni,A1)7 phase, La(Ni,A1)5 phase, (La,Mg)Ni2 phase and (La,Mg)(Ni,A1)3 phase. All alloys showed, however, only one pressure plateau in P-C isotherms. The Pr/La ratio in alloy composition influenced hydrogen storage capacity and kinetics properties. Electrochemical studies showed that the discharge capacity decreased from 360 mAh/g (x=-0.00) to 335 mAh/g (x=-0.20) as x increased. But the high-rate dischargeability (HRD) of alloy electrodes increased from 26% (x=0.00) to 56% (x=-0.20) at a discharge current density of Id=1800 mA/g. Anode polarization measurements were done to further understand the electrochemical kinetics properties after Pr substitution.展开更多

All samples were prepared using vacuum arc melting in an argon atmosphere. The results showed that for LaNi_(5-x)M_x(M = Al, Fe, or Co) alloys, the lattice constants and unit cell volumes increased with an increasing amount of Al and Fe. On the other hand, these parameters decreased upon partial substitution of La by Ce. In addition, the lattice constant remained almost constant in the La_(0.6)Ce_(0.4)Ni_(5–x)Cox alloys regardless of the value of x(x = 0.3, 0.6, or 0.9), as Ce might enhance the homogeneity of the CaCu_5-type phase in Co-containing alloys. The hydrogen storage properties of the alloys were investigated using pressure, composition, and temperature isotherms. The experimental results showed that the plateau pressure decreased with an increasing content of Al, Fe, or Co, but it increased with Ce addition. Furthermore, the plateau pressures of all Co-containing alloys were almost identical upon substitution with Ce. Finally, the enthalpy(ΔH) and entropy(ΔS) values for all alloys were calculated using van't Hoff plots. The relationship between the lattice parameters and enthalpy changes for hydrogenation will be discussed.展开更多

New phase appears in the tripe alloys doped with A1 and Fe, and the particle size ranges from 3μm to 5 μm. The electrochemical performance studies indicate that the partial substitution of AI for Mg, and Fe for Ni significantly improve the cycle life, reversibility of hydrogen absorption and desorption. The diffusion process is the control step in the electrode reaction of hydrogen storage alloys.

文摘Mg-based materials have been intensively studied for hydrogen storage applications due to their high energy density up to 2600 Wh/kg or 3700 Wh/L.However,the Mg-based materials with poor kinetics and the necessity for a high temperature to achieve 0.1 MPa hydrogen equilibrium pressure limit the applications in the onboard storage in Fuel cell vehicles(FCVs).Over the past decades, many methods have been applied to improve the hydriding/dehydriding(H/D)kinetics of Mg/MgH 2 by forming amorphous or nanosized particles, adding catalysts and employing external energy field, etc. However, which method is more effective and the intrinsic mechanism they work are widely differing versions. The hydrogenation and dehydrogenation behaviors of Mg-based alloys analyzing by kinetic models is an efficient way to reveal the H/D kinetic mechanism. However, some recently proposed models with physical meaning and simple analysis method are not known intimately by researchers. Therefore, this review focuses on the enhancement method of kinetics in Mg-based hydrogen storage materials and introduces the new kinetic models.
文摘Ti-Cr- and Ti-Mn-based alloys were prepared to be low- and high-pressure stage metals for a double-stage super-high-pressure metal hydride hydrogen compressor. Their crystallographic characteristics and hydrogen storage properties were investigated. The alloy pair Ti0.9Zr0.1Mn1.4- Cr0.35V0.2Fe0.05/TiCr1.55Mn0.2Fe0.2 was optimized based on the comprehensive performance of the studied alloys. The product hydrogen with a pressure of 100 MPa could be produced from 4 MPa feed gas when hot oil was used as a heat reservoir.

文摘Rare earth-Mg-Ni-based alloys with superlattice structures are new generation negative electrode materials for the nickel metal hydride batteries.Among them, the novel AB_(4)-type superlattice structure alloy is supposed to have superior cycling stability and rate capability.Yet its preparation is hindered by the crucial requirement of temperature and the special composition which is close to the other superlattice structure. Here,we prepare rare earth-Mg-Ni-based alloy and study the phase transformation of alloys to make clear the formation of AB_(4)-type phase. It is found Pr_(5)Co_(19)-type phase is converted from Ce_(5)Co_(19)-type phase and shows good stability at higher temperature compared to the Ce_(5)Co_(19)-type phase in the range of 930-970℃.Afterwards,with further 5℃increasing,AB_(4)-type superlattice structure forms at a temperature of 975℃by consuming Pr_(5)Co_(19)-type phase. In contrast with A_(5)B_(19)-type alloy,AB_(4)-type alloy has superior rate capability owing to the dominant advantages of charge transfer and hydrogen diffusion.Besides,AB_(4)-type alloy shows long lifespan whose capacity retention rates are 89.2%at the 100;cycle and 82.8%at the 200;cycle,respectively.AB_(4)-type alloy delivers 1.53 wt.%hydrogen storage capacity at room temperature and exhibits higher plateau pressure than Pr_(5)Co_(19)-type alloy. The work provides novel AB_(4)-type alloy with preferable electrochemical performance as negative electrode material to inspire the development of nickel metal hydride batteries.

文摘Mg-based hydrogen storage materials are considered to be one of the most promising solid-state hydrogen storage materials due to their large hydrogen storage capacity and low cost. By comparing pure Mg, Pd-caped Mg, nonpalladium capped Mg, and Mg alloy hydrogen storage films, an ideal tendency for producing Mg-based film is pointed out,for example, looking for a cheap metal element to replace the high-priced Pd, compositing Mg film with other hydrogen storage alloy of catalytic elements, and so on.

文摘The MgNi26 alloy was prepared by three different methods of gravity casting (GC), mechanical alloying (MA) and rapid solidification (RS). The favourable phase and structural composition of the MgNi26-MA sample were the reasons for the best hydriding and dehydriding properties.
文摘Mg-based metal hydrides are promising as hydrogen storage materials for fuel ce ll application. Also, almost the same amount of H2 as the first stage is detected stored i n the powders of the second stage by DSC and TGA.
文摘A series of multi-component M1-based hydrogen storage alloys witha cobalt atomic ratio of 0.40-0.75 were prepared. The electrochemicalproperties under different charge-discharge conditions and PCTcharaceristics measured by electrochemical method were investigated. The addition of other alloying elements for partial substitution ofCo low- ers the hydrogen equilibrium pressure and discharge capacity, but improves the cycling stability and makes the alloys keep nearlythe same rate discharge capability and high-temperature dischargecapability as those of the compared alloy. The reasons werediscussed.

文摘The microstructural evolution of a Mg-10Ni-2Mm(molar fraction,%)(Mm=Ce,La-rich mischmetal) hydrogen storage alloys applied with various solidification rates was studied. The results show that the grain size of melt-spun ribbon is remarkably reduced by increasing the solidification rate. The microcrystalline, nanocrystalline and amorphous microstructures are obtained by applying the surface velocities of the graphite wheel of 3.1,10.5 and 20.9 m/s,respectively.By applying the surface velocity of the graphite wheel of 3.1 m/s,the melt-spun specimen obtains full crystalline with a considerable amount of coarse microcrystalline Mg and Mg2Ni except for some Mm-rich particles. The amount of nanocrystalline phases significantly increases with increasing the surface velocity of the wheel to 10.5 m/s,and the microstructure is composed of a large amount of nanocrystalline phases of Mg and Mg2Ni particles.A mixed microstructure containing amorphous and nanocrystalline phases is obtained at a surface velocity of the wheel of 20.9 m/s.The optimal microstructure with a considerable amount of nanocrystalline Mg and Mg2Ni in an amorphous matrix is expected to have the maximum hydrogen absorption capacity and excellent hydrogenation kinetics.

文摘In order to investigate the effect of substituting La with Pr on structural and hydrogen storage properties of La-Mg-Ni system (AB3.5-type) hydrogen storage alloys, a series of La0.65-xPrxNd0.12Mg0.23Ni3.4Al0.1(x=0, 0.10, 0.15, 0.2) hydrogen storage alloys were prepared. Anode polarization measurements were done to further understand the electrochemical kinetics properties after Pr substitution.

文摘The hydrogen storage properties of a Li-Mg-N-H material doped by a 4 mol.% Ti3Cr3V4 body centre cubic(BCC) alloy hydride and prepared with a ball-milling method were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Sievert's technology test. The results show that the Ti3Cr3V4 BCC alloy hydride/Li-Mg-N-H composite has good reversible hydrogen storage properties. The dehydrogenation kinetics of the Li-Mg-N-H system can be greatly improved by doping the Ti3Cr3V4 BCC alloy hydride. The composite desorbed 4.1 wt.% hydrogen in the first 60 min at 473 K under 0.1 MPa pressure, but when without the BCC alloy addition, only 3.0 wt.% hydrogen was desorbed under the same dehydrogenation condition. It can be deduced that the Ti3Cr3V4 BCC alloy uniformly distributed in the Li-Mg-N-H substrate could decrease the activating energy of hydrogen molecules to H atoms and increase H diffusion paths in the composite, enhancing the dehydrogenation kinetics of the Li-Mg-N-H system.

文摘The effects of partial substitution of La by Ce and Ni by Al, Fe, or Co in LaNi_5-based alloys on hydrogen storage performance were systematically studied. The relationship between the lattice parameters and enthalpy changes for hydrogenation will be discussed.
