The microwave radiometer (MRM) onboard the Chang' E-1 (CE-I) lu- nar orbiter is a 4-frequency microwave radiometer, and it is mainly used to obtain the brightness temperature (TB) of the lunar surface, from which the thickness, temperature, dielectric constant and other related properties of the lunar regolith can be derived. The working mode of the CE-1 MRM, the ground calibration (including the official calibration coefficients), as well as the acquisition and processing of the raw data are introduced. Our data analysis shows that TB increases with increasing frequency, decreases towards the lunar poles and is significantly affected by solar illumination. Our analysis also reveals that the main uncertainty in TB comes from ground calibration. 展开更多

Cubic (Zn,Li)TiO3 powders were synthesized through a modified sol-gel route including the Pechini process via a three-step heat treatment. The as-synthesized (Zn,Li)TiO3 could be stable up to 1000 °C.The dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent of all the synthesized (Zn,Li)TiO3 samples at different measurement frequencies showed the similar tendency. At the same frequency, the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss tangent of (Zn,Li)TiO3 samples decreased and increased, respectively, with the lithium doping content increase. The as-prepared (Zn,Li)TiO3 showed improved microwave dielectric properties, and its maximum value of quality factor could reach 34000 GHz. 展开更多

Background: To our knowledge, there is little study on the interaction between nutrient availability and molecular structure changes induced by different processing methods in dairy cattle. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of heat processing methods on interaction between nutrient availability and molecular structure in terms of functional groups that are related to protein and starch inherent structure of oat grains with two continued years and three replication of each year.Method: The oat grains were kept as raw(control) or heated in an air-draft oven(dry roasting: DO) at 120 °C for 60 min and under microwave irradiation(MIO) for 6 min. The molecular structure features were revealed by vibrational infrared molecular spectroscopy. Results: The results showed that rumen degradability of dry matter, protein and starch was significantly lower(P 〈0.05) for MIO compared to control and DO treatments. A higher protein α-helix to β-sheet and a lower amide I to starch area ratio were observed for MIO compared to DO and/or raw treatment. A negative correlation(-0.99, P 〈 0.01)was observed between α-helix or amide I to starch area ratio and dry matter. A positive correlation(0.99, P 〈 0.01) was found between protein β-sheet and crude protein. Conclusion: The results reveal that oat grains are more sensitive to microwave irradiation than dry heating in terms of protein and starch molecular profile and nutrient availability in ruminants. 展开更多

Two kinds of different structured alumina-titania composite powders were used to prepare alumina matrix ceramics by microwave sintering. One was powder mixture of alumina and titania at a micron-submicron level, in which fused-and-crushed alumina particles (micrometers) was clad with submicron-sized titania. The other was powder mixture of alumina and titania at nanometer-nanometer level, in which nano-sized alumina and nano-sized titania particles were homogeneously mixed by ball-milling and spray dried to prepare spherical alumina-titania composite powders. The effect of the microstructure of composite powders on microstructure and properties of microwave sintered alumina matrix ceramics were investigated. Nano-sized composite (NC) powder showed enhanced sintering behavior compared with micro-sized composite (MC) powders. The as- prepared NC ceramic had much denser, finer and more homogenous microstructure than MC ceramic. The mechanical properties of NC ceramic were significantly higher than that of MC ceramic, e.g. the flexural strength, Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of NC ceramic were 85.3%, 130.3% and 25.7% higher than that of MC ceramic, respectively. The improved mechanical properties of NC ceramic compared with that of MC ceramic were attributed to the enhanced densification and the finer and more homogeneous microstructure through the use of the nanostructured composite powders. 展开更多
