Less attention has been given to the psychosocial factors associated with this chronic condition. By the few studies that have specifically focused on psychosocial factors in the context of stroke, poststroke depression is demonstrated to significantly influence stroke outcomes. Associations of stroke with psychological symptoms other than depression have rarely been evaluated. This study was aimed to investigate the changes of psychological stress, social support and medication adherence in patients with ischemic stroke in the mainland of China. In this study, 90 patients with hemiplegia one year after first-ever middle cerebral artery infarction(stroke group) in the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from June 2008 to June 2011 were recruited for interview. Ninety age- and sex-matched normal volunteers(control group) were also examined at the same period. The psychological distress was assessed by the Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90), the social support by the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS), and medication adherence by Morisky's self-reported inventory, respectively. Group differences were analyzed using unpaired-t test and chi-squared test. The results showed that total mean scores of the SCL-90 in the stroke group were higher than those in the control group(P〈0.01). Except two dimensions, paranoid ideation and psychoticism, mean scores of the rest dimensions(including somatization, obsession-compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, and phobic anxiety) of SCL-90 were significantly higher in the stroke group than those in the control group(P〈0.05, or P〈0.01). The objective support, subjective support, support availability and total social support scores in the stroke group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P〈0.05, or P〈0.01). Those in the "SCL-90 total scores 〉150 group" were significantly higher than in the "SCL-90 total scores 〈100 group" and the "SCL-90 total scores between 100 to 150 group"(P〈0.05, or P〈0.01). Those in the "SCL-90 total scores between 100 to 150 group" were significantly higher than in the "SCL-90 total scores 〈100 group"(P〈0.05). In 90 patients with ischemic stroke, 26(28.89%) patients obtained high medication adherence, 47(52.22%) patients medium medication adherence, and 17(18.89%) patients low medication adherence, respectively. Among these stroke patients, there were 17(50.00%) patients with high medication adherence in the "SCL-90 total scores 〉150 group", 28(75.67%) patients with medium medication adherence in the "SCL-90 total scores between 100 to 150 group", and 12(61.16%) patients with low medication adherence in the "SCL-90 total scores 〈100 group", respectively. There was significant difference in the medication adherence rate among the different SCL-90 scores groups in these stroke patients(P〈0.05 or P〈0.01). It was led to conclude that ischemic stroke patients one year after hemiplegia have psychological distress, low level of social support and poor medication adherence in the mainland of China. Therefore, it is necessary to mobilize the government, medical institutions and various social support groups to offer psychological interventions to relieve the stress of patients with ischemic stroke, and improve their medication adherence.展开更多

The participants were 350 older adults aged over 60 years who lived in South Korea and were active in thelocal community. The model proposed in this study was found to be suitable. Depression, self-efficacy, and social support had adirect effect on the psychological well-being of older adults, while depression, activities of daily living (ADLs), and self-efficacy hadan indirect effect. Self-efficacy and social support mediated the relationship between depression and psychological well-being, andself-efficacy mediated the relationship between ADLs and psychological well-being. It is necessary to develop and implement aprogram that can help alleviate depression and improve self-efficacy and social support among older adults in order toenhance their psychological well-being. Additionally, to establish a model that predicts the psychological well-being of olderadults, a study is needed to verify the model not only in Korea but also in other countries.展开更多

Two hundred and twenty six male and female students participated. The general health questionnaire, student life-stress inventory and perceived social support from family and friends scales were used to assess psychological wellbeing, academic stress and perceived social support respectively. The results indicated that perceived social support buffered the effects of academic stress on psychological wellbeing. Girls reported higher scores on perceived social support but reported more depression. Boys reported higher academic stress and better psychological wellbeing, and these have been attributed partly to the socialisation role of gender. These results have policy implications in respect of the creation of a cordial school environment as well as encouraging a healthy interpersonal relationship between adolescents and their family and friends with the aim of reducing academic stress appraisal which is inimical to the psychological wellbeing of adolescents.展开更多

Renal failure, a chronic physical disorder has also negative effects on the families and causes a serious burden in a similar manner. It is aimed in this study to investigate to what extent the burden, social support and psychological wellbeing among the caregivers of schizophrenic patients compare to those of the caregivers of chronic renal failure patients. Methods: Relatives of patients with schizophrenia and chronic renal failure were included in the study. Each group consisted of 30 volunteers. The volunteers completed demographical information questionnaire, Burden Interview Scale (BIS), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and General Health Questionnaire (GSA). Results: A dominance of female caregivers was found in the study. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of burden. Among the caregivers of chronic renal failure was a positive correlation both between age and burden and education and social support respectively. It was found out that relatives of chronic renal failure got less social support and reported a poorer psychological wellbeing when compared to the relatives of schizophrenic patients. A negative correlation was found between social support and burden in both of the study groups. Conclusion: The results of this study underline the importance of social support in alleviating the burden of the caregivers of chronic patients. The monitarisation of the psychological states of caregivers of both the schizophrenic and renal failure patients has to be taken into consideration.展开更多

文摘Objective:To systematically evaluate the effects of MBSR on psychological health intervention in nurses. Methods:The randomized controlled trial(RCT)and self-controlled trial(SC)investigating the application of mindfulness-based stress reduction in nursing staff were retrieved from CNKI,WanFang,VIP,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,EMBASE databases. The retrieval time was set from the establishment of the database to April 2020.The Review Manager 5.3 software were used for meta-analysis.Result:9 RCTs and 5 self-control trails were included with 1421,712 subjects in the experimental group and 709 subjects in the control group. The results of the meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group,mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy can effectively reduce the psychological symptoms of clinical nurses[SMD=-0.96,95%CI(-1.51,-0.38),P=0.001],reduces nurses'anxiety levels[SMD=-1.28,95%CI(-2.18,-0.38),P=0.005],relieve the nurse's depression[SMD=-1.08,95%CI(-2.15,-0.02),P=0.005],improve the mental resilience of nurse[SMD=7.05,95%CI(3.93,10.17),P=0.03],showing a statistical meaning. Conclusion:The mental health of nurses is often neglected by themselves and there is insufficient awareness that MBSR can improve mental health. There has been a debate about whether MBSR actually improves the mental health of nurses,so it is necessary to further explore this issue and seek better methods and opportunities for practice.
文摘Stroke research and rehabilitation have traditionally focused on the physical and functional impact of a stroke. Therefore, it is necessary to mobilize the government, medical institutions and various social support groups to offer psychological interventions to relieve the stress of patients with ischemic stroke, and improve their medication adherence.

文摘This study examined factors related to the psychological well-being of older adults and built and verified a model for predictingpsychological well-being. Additionally, to establish a model that predicts the psychological well-being of olderadults, a study is needed to verify the model not only in Korea but also in other countries.
文摘The purpose of this study was to examine how academic stress and perceived social support influence the psychological wellbeing of Senior High School students in Ghana. These results have policy implications in respect of the creation of a cordial school environment as well as encouraging a healthy interpersonal relationship between adolescents and their family and friends with the aim of reducing academic stress appraisal which is inimical to the psychological wellbeing of adolescents.

文摘Objective: Schizophrenia is a lifelong chronic psychiatric disorder with a relatively early onset. The monitarisation of the psychological states of caregivers of both the schizophrenic and renal failure patients has to be taken into consideration.
