However, little research has been conducted into the implications of patterns in the mineralogical characteristics of the spinel for spatial variation in the controls on the exsolution mechanism and, hence, the formation process of the ore deposit. This study selected the Lanjiahuoshan Ore Block in the Panzhihua V-Ti magnetite deposit to explore this issue, systematically studying exsolution textures in the titanomagnetite through petrographic observation and the integrated use of in-situ microanalysis. The results show that the exsolved spinel gradually becomes finer-grained and less abundant from the center to edge and the bottom to top of the ore bodies. Compositionally, there is an inverse correlation between the size of exsolved spinel grains and their Mg# value. In addition, there is compositional zonation in the spinel interiors, with a gradual increase in the Mg content and decrease in Fe content from the core to the rim. The analysis suggests that fractional crystallization of ferrotitanium magma with a high oxygen fugacity in a shallow magma chamber caused compositional differences in the primary magnetite solid solution in different parts of the Panzhihua intrusion. Additionally, the thermal evolution of the magnetite solid solution differed in different parts of orebody, bringing about variations in spinel development. Together, these effects resulted in spatial variation in the abundance, grain size, and morphology of spinel in different parts of the orebody and intrusion that follows an identifiable distribution law. Furthermore, the compositional zonation of exsolved spinels reflects the rapid growth of exsolution features in a high-temperature environment. Thus, the size, morphology, abundance, and composition of spinel exsolution features in titanomagnetite provide a valuable petrogenetic tool for estimating the maturity and formational environment of the deposit.展开更多

The metallogenic elements are highly enriched in these host strata and limited in other horizons. Isotope researches indicate that the metallogenic elements in the ore deposits mainly come from the host strata. The studies of trace elements in the host mudstone show lower w (Th)/ w (Sc), w (Th)/ w (U) ratios, higher mafic elements (such as Cr, Ni, Co) mass fractions than the average values of the same kind of rocks in the upper crust and the research area. The chondrite normalized REE patterns of mudstone in the host strata are quite different from the common mudstones and shales with relatively steep HREE slopes (relatively high w (Tb) n/ w (Yb) n ratios, between 1.48 and 2.00) and no or slightly negative Eu anomalies (high δ (Eu) ratios, between 0.79 and 0.89). The NASC normalized REE patterns of siliceous rocks in the host strata show the HREE enrichment (the w (La) n/ w (Yb) n ratios are less than 1), a little Eu positive anomalies and Ce depletion with high abundances of As, Se, Sb and Ba elements, which shows the hydrothermal deposit features. The NASC normalized REE patterns of the mudstone in the host strata are very similar to those of the hydrothermal siliceous rocks and to those of the tuffs and basalts except the higher total REE mass fractions. All of these geochemical characteristics suggest the existence of interior sources pouring into basin when the host strata were deposited. The research of basin evolution also indicates that the host strata were deposited in the pulling apart periods. It can be realized from these facts that the degree of enrichment and deficiency of the elements in the normal depositional strata is very limited, and it is only the particular horizons corresponding to the particular periods of the earth ’s evolution that can be the significant source beds because only in these unusual horizons can be highly enriched metallogenic elements. The interior sources corresponding to the pulling apart of basin evolution may be the main cause to make the mineralization of the strata bound ore deposits in southwest Yangtze massif take on time bound characteristics.展开更多

[Method] Cultivated alpine grassland plant, Poa crymophila, was treated with drought and wa- ter stress, and then the samples were collected and analyzed. [Result] Compared with the control group, under drought and water stress, multiple mineral elements tended to accumulate and increase, and there were significant differences in the contents of Cu, Mn, Ni and P (P〈0.05). [Conclusion] Under drought and water stress, mineral elements in potted Poa crymophila tended to accumulate and in- crease, which is the adaption and response of Poa crymophila to drought and water stress, as well as the re-verification of the starvation effect hypothesis of mineral effects. The starvation effect of mineral elements is one of the endogenic forces for the accumulation and differentiation of mineral elements in grassland plants.展开更多

[Method] Vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer and hydroxyl-modi- fied VCNAc were taken as coating materials to prepare slow release fertilizer. Nutri- ent release characteristics of VC/VAc slow release fertilizer was evaluated by water immersion method and the effects of VC/VAc slow release fertilizer on mineral ni- trogen were researched by pot experiment. [Result] The release periods of VC-VAc controlled-release urea and hydroxyl-modified VC/VAc coated urea were 60 and 50 d, respectively. Furthermore, the content of ammonium nitrogen reached the peak on the 30th d and the content of nitrate nitrogen reached the peak on the 60th d in soils in treatments with VCNAc and hydroxyl-modified VC/VAc; the content of nitrate nitrogen rose again on the 120th d in the treatment with VC/VAc. In terms of wheat yield, different treatments showed insignificant differences and rice yield in the treatment with VCNAc was significantly higher than that in the treatment with hy- droxyl-modified VCNAc (P〈0.05). [Conclusion] The release days of slow controlled- release fertilizer vary upon pot experiment method and water immersion method. Slow controlled-release fertilizer is not suitable for monoculture, due to long fertilizer efficiency, but multiple cropping would be optimal for its role to be fully exploited.展开更多

Previous studies of the Xianshi granite-related uranium deposit reported that uraninite and pyrite are the major ore minerals whereas galena, clausthalite (PbSe), and pyrite are minor phases in the ores. A more detailed petrographic and geochronological study of the uranium minerals from the Xianshi deposit showed that there are three distinct types of uraninite-bearing assemblages which formed at three mineralization episodes (Fig. la; Luo et al., 2015).展开更多

In short terms (several to tens of years), the greater part of the injected CO2 is predicted to stay as free CO2 , i.e. in a CO2 rich dense phase that may contain some water. This paper investigates the sorption characteristics for rocks (quartzose arenite, greywacke, shale, granite and serpentine) and minerals (quartz and albite) in the CO2 rich dense phase. The measurements were conducted at 50°C and 100°C, and pressures up to 20 MPa. Our results demonstrated that significant quantities of CO2 were sorbed with all the samples. Particularly, at 50°C and 100°C, quartzose arenite showed largest sorption capacity among the other samples in higher pressures (>10 MPa). Furthermore, comparison with model prediction based on the pore filling model, which assumed that CO2 acts as filling pore spaces of the rocks and minerals, suggested the importance of the sorption mechanism in the CO2 geological storage in addition to the pore-filling mechanism. The present results should be pointed out that the sorption characteristics may have significant and meaningful effect on the assessment of CO2 storage capacity in geological media.展开更多

The studied ore (mineralized) body mainly occurs in the Middle Permian Liangshan Formation. This work described the morphology, structures, main ore types and geochemical characteristics of this ore body in detail, and discussed the ore-forming material source, occurrence state of lithium and the formation mechanism of lithium ores to clarify the prospecting marks. In the further exploration, comprehensive evaluation of the lithium resources of known bauxite ore bodies in central Yunnan Province should be strengthened, and the exploration of hidden lithium ore bodies should be intensified in order to discover more large and super-large lithium orebodies, which will fill the gap of the national demand for lithium resources, and promote the national defense construction and new energy industry development.展开更多

The heavy mineral suite (opaque minerals, zircon, tourmaline, and rutile) revealed that the sandstones are mineralogically mature and implied rapid disintegration and chemical decomposition of sediments mostly of recycled orogen. The sandstones were geochemically classified as Fe-sand and partly quartz arenitic. Chemical Index of Alteration and Chemical Index of Weathering values of 89.92% and 91.87% respectively suggest that the source region was predominantly felsic and was subjected to intense chemical weathering probably under tropical palaeoclimatic conditions with abundant rainfall that enhanced sediment recycling. Major element concentration discriminant plots also indicated that the sediments were derived from mixed sources (granitic, gneissic or recycled orogen) under passive margin setting. Chondrite normalized plot of the rare earth element pattern is marked by light rare earth element enrichment and negative Eu anomalies, interpreted to mean that provenance was mainly continental crustal rocks. Trace elemental ratios that are provenance diagnostic (La/Sc, Th/Sc, Cr/Th, La/Co, Th/Co, Th/Cr, Eu/Eu*, and Eu*) all point to sediments derived from felsic source and upper continental crust. The mixed provenance of the sandstones can be traced to the southwestern and southeastern Basement Complex (consisting of granites, gneisses, etc.) and sediments derived from the adjacent sedimentary basins (Anambra and Benue Trough).展开更多

Three types of clay mineral zone can be recognized on the basis of the distributive regularity of clay minerals, submarine relief, hydrodynamic conditions and depositional characteristics in this region. Apart from the northern mainland source, kaolinites carried from the Philippines volcanic arc in the east and Malaysia in the south are also assumed to be one of the sources of the clay minerals in the deep sea. The increase of chlorites to the abyssal direction in the west of 116° E might be associated with the residual chlorites carried from the ancient Zhujiang River during the glacial period and the conversion of kaolinite into chlorite submarine volcanoes appear to be one of the sources of the increment of montmorillonite and chlorite around the Huangyan Island. From the distribution pattern of clay minerals in the whole area, it is known that the types of clay mineral assemblage in the study area are mainly controlled by climate and rock types of the source are-展开更多

Chlorite is mainly found in the entire Neogene and in shallow horizons of the Paleogene.Smectite is enriched in the shallow Paleogene-Neogene.There are large amounts of kaolinite and illite/smectite inter-stratified minerals in the Jurassic. The major factors affecting the different development of clay minerals in the region are properties of parent rocks, paleoclimate and paleowater media conditions, diagenesis transformation, tectonic and terrain conditions.展开更多

The study shows the following results. (1) The mineral assemblage is complex and the species of sulfide are abundant with occurrences of sulfosalt minerals. (2) The composition in the minerals is complex and there rich micro elements, including As, Sb, Bi, Se, Te, Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cr, Ni, V. The typomorphic characteristics of the association of the elements and their specific value suggest that gold mineralization is associated with shallow magmatic hydrothermal activity, the oreforming fluid is the mixture of abundant rising alkali magmatic water originating from the mantle or the lower crust and the descending acid atmospheric water. (3) Ankerite, Fe-rich sphalerite, granular Ti-rich rutile are widely distributed, which indicate great denudation depths, high mineralization temperature. The deposit is found in the middle and shallow positions of the porphyry series. The deep layers are not favorable for gold mineralization. (4) Copper minerals are rich in the ores and sulfides have high content of copper, suggesting possible porphyry-type Cu (Au) mineralization in deep positions and the surrounding areas.展开更多

The effects of initial solution pH value and calcination temperature on the composition, crystalline structure, purity, morphology, homogeneity and grain size of Cu?Ni nanoparticles were investigated. Both the parameters significantly affect the crystalline structure, composition and grain size. Cu?Ni alloys prepared at pH value of 1 do not contain impurities, and their compositions are Cu0.42Ni0.58, Cu0.45Ni0.55 and Cu0.52Ni0.48 reduced at 300, 400 and 500 °C, respectively. The grain size grows with the increase of calcination temperature for the precursor prepared at pH values of 1.6 and 3. The Ni content of the alloys gradually increases with the increase of calcination temperature at pH value of 3.展开更多

The aim of study is to determine the provenance, establish the depositional environment and spatial variability of sediment. From the study it is found that the sediment of Gosthani river contains heavy minerals that consist of Rutile, Garnet, Sillimanite, Staurolite, Monazite, Zercon, Pyroxenes, Epidote, Amphiboles and Opaques minerals. The lesser abundant heavy minerals are amphiboles, zircon, monazite, rutile, staurolite, epidote. These heavy minerals indicate that the sediments were essentially derived from metamorphic provenance varying from medium to high grade and partly from crystalline igneous rocks. Well rounded monazites come from Eastern Ghats. This is based on the occurrence of monazite in pegmatite and charnockites of Eastern Ghats. The various characters of rutile and zircon suggest that each of these minerals has a multisource. According to geochemical studies settling of organic matter is highest in areas where deposition of fine grained sediment takes place. The organic carbon is often a good index for deciphering depositional environment.展开更多

文摘This paper seeks to identify macroscopic metallogenic mechanisms of various mineral deposits by studying microscopic typomorphic characteristics of typical minerals associated with the deposits and to reveal the mechanism of lattice gold in detail by studying both physical and chemical characteristics of quartz from representative gold deposits in the North China Platform. As part of their extensive research, the authors examine the relationship between trace elements with wall rock, the ore-forming media, and gold immigration of various types of gold deposits, including their salinity, type, temperature. These are key factors to revealing the mineralization mechanism, and indicators for mineral prospecting, exploration, mining, and metallurgical technology. In order to address the questions posed, the following methods were used:field investigations of geology and sampling of the representative gold deposits, physical study and chemical analysis of quartz including, but not limited to,fluid inclusions as well as their compositions and trace elements in quartz, the unit cell parameters, electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum(EPR),and infrared spectroscopic analysis(ISA).As a result of this study, the authors observe the following key findings:unit cell parameters of quartz vary with their contents of foreign elements including gold, paragenetic stage, wall rock type, and other factors;the higher the forming temperature and the lower the gold content in quartz, the smaller the unit cell parameters, and vice versa.Additionally, the EPR absorption lines resulted from the O–Al defect center. The density of these types of hole centers increases and the EPR signal strengthens when the temperature decreases.Based on the findings, the authors conclude that lattice gold exists in quartz.Gold,in the form of Au^(+)and/or Au^(3+),entering quartz and producing an electron–hole center, namely, the O-Au hole center, makes the center produce spin resonance absorption and results in the EPR absorption peak#I.Both unit cell parameters and EPR of quartz can potentially be used in mineral prospecting, relative ore-forming temperature determination, and grade control during mining.

文摘[Objective] This study was conducted to explain the mechanism of the accumulation characteristics of mineral elements in alpine grassland plants. The starvation effect of mineral elements is one of the endogenic forces for the accumulation and differentiation of mineral elements in grassland plants.

文摘[Objective] The aim was to explore release characteristics of vinyl chlo- ride-vinyl acetate copolymer controlled-release N fertilizer and the effects on minerat nitrogen in soils. Slow controlled-release fertilizer is not suitable for monoculture, due to long fertilizer efficiency, but multiple cropping would be optimal for its role to be fully exploited.

文摘The analysis of hydrochemical characteristics and influencing factors of surface river on plateau is helpful to study water hydrological cycle and environmental evolution, which can scientifically guide rational development and utilization of water resources and planning of ecological environment protection. With the expansion and diversification of human activities, the quality of surface rivers will be more directly affected. Therefore,it is of great significance to pay attention to the hydrochemical characteristics of plateau surface rivers and the influence of human activities on their circulation and evolution. In this study, surface water in the Duoqu basin of Jinsha River located in Hengduan mountain region of Eastern Tibet was selected as the representative case.Twenty-three groups of surface water samples were collected to analyze the hydrochemical characteristics and ion sources based on correlation analysis, piper trigram, gibbs model, hydrogen and oxygen isotopic techniques. The results suggest the following:(1)The pH showed slight alkalinity with the value ranged from 7.25 to 8.62.Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+)and HCO_(3)^(–)were the main cations and anions.HCO_(3)^(-)Ca and HCO_(3)^(-)Ca·Mg were the primary hydrochemical types for the surface water of Duoqu River. The correlation analysis showed that TDS had the most significant correlation with Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+)and HCO_(3)^(–).Analysis on hydrogen and oxygen isotopes indicated that the surface rivers were mainly recharged by atmospheric precipitation and glacial melt water in this study area.(2)The surface water had a certain reverse cation alternating adsorption, and surface water ions were mainly derived from rock weathering, mainly controlled by weathering and dissolution of carbonates, and secondly by silicates and sodium rocks.(3)The influence of human activities was weak, while the development of cinnabar minerals had a certain impact on the hydrochemistry characteristics, which was the main factor for causing the increase of SO_(4)^(2–).The densely populated county towns and temples with frequent incense burning activities may cause some anomalies of surface water quality. At present, the Duoqu River watershed had gone through a certain influence of mineral exploitation,so the hydrological cycle and river eco-environment at watershed scale will still bound to be change. The results could provide basic support for better understanding water balance evolution as well as the ecological protection of Duoqu River watershed.

文摘Objective Galuskin et al. (2011) firstly discovered that vorlanite (CaU^6+/4+)04 is a rare Ca-rich mineral with a fluorite-type structure, which is isostructural with uraninite (U^4+O2). Previous studies of the Xianshi granite-related uranium deposit reported that uraninite and pyrite are the major ore minerals whereas galena, clausthalite (PbSe), and pyrite are minor phases in the ores. A more detailed petrographic and geochronological study of the uranium minerals from the Xianshi deposit showed that there are three distinct types of uraninite-bearing assemblages which formed at three mineralization episodes (Fig. la; Luo et al., 2015).
文摘As CO2 is injected into pore spaces of water-filled reservoir rocks, it displaces much of the pore fluids. The present results should be pointed out that the sorption characteristics may have significant and meaningful effect on the assessment of CO2 storage capacity in geological media.
文摘Lithium ore (mineralized) bodies in the area A of central Yunnan Province belong to a sedimentary-type, which are controlled by stratum. In the further exploration, comprehensive evaluation of the lithium resources of known bauxite ore bodies in central Yunnan Province should be strengthened, and the exploration of hidden lithium ore bodies should be intensified in order to discover more large and super-large lithium orebodies, which will fill the gap of the national demand for lithium resources, and promote the national defense construction and new energy industry development.
文摘Heavy mineral petrographic and geochemical compositions (major and trace/rare earth elements)?of sandstones obtained from the Oligocene-Miocene Ogwashi-Asaba Formation, Niger Delta were studied to determine their provenance, source area weathering conditions and tectonic setting. The mixed provenance of the sandstones can be traced to the southwestern and southeastern Basement Complex (consisting of granites, gneisses, etc.) and sediments derived from the adjacent sedimentary basins (Anambra and Benue Trough).
文摘The clay minearals are composed of illite, chlorite, kaolinite, montmorillonite and mixed-layer minerals in the submarine sediments of the northern South China Sea. From the distribution pattern of clay minerals in the whole area, it is known that the types of clay mineral assemblage in the study area are mainly controlled by climate and rock types of the source are-

文摘In order to develop appropriate reservoir protection measures in the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin and improve its oil and gas recovery efficiency, characteristics of clay minerals from eleven clay rock samples from the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin were investigated using X-ray diffraction analysis, the Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)and energy spectrum analysis.Clay mineral composition and distribution characteristics of the main hydrocarbon reservoirs,i.e.,from the Jurassic and Paleogene-Neogene,were explored. We analyzed the main factors which affected these attributes. The results show that the major clay minerals in the northern margin are chlorite, kaolinite, illite, smectite and illite/smectite inter-stratified minerals.Illite is the most widely spread clay mineral in this area. Chlorite is mainly found in the entire Neogene and in shallow horizons of the Paleogene.Smectite is enriched in the shallow Paleogene-Neogene.There are large amounts of kaolinite and illite/smectite inter-stratified minerals in the Jurassic. The major factors affecting the different development of clay minerals in the region are properties of parent rocks, paleoclimate and paleowater media conditions, diagenesis transformation, tectonic and terrain conditions.
文摘Aim of the work is to establish the connection between the petrophysical and magnetic features, chemical compositions of microcrystalline oxides, their distribution and the quality of diamonds. In this work author has used variety of methods to study these characteristics, including SEM and TMA. 文摘Utilizing theories of minerageny and prospecting mineralogy, the authors studied the attitude, morphotype and chemical composition of metallic minerals of pyrite, gold, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite, non-metallic minerals of quartz, carbonate, dolomite and rutile in the Puziwan gold deposit. (4) Copper minerals are rich in the ores and sulfides have high content of copper, suggesting possible porphyry-type Cu (Au) mineralization in deep positions and the surrounding areas.

文摘Cu?Ni nano-alloys were prepared using precursors synthesized by the citrate-gel method. The Ni content of the alloys gradually increases with the increase of calcination temperature at pH value of 3.
文摘The present work deals with the geochemical and heavy mineral characteristics studies of sediments of Gosthani river estuary. The organic carbon is often a good index for deciphering depositional environment.
