The direct simulations show that, when the intensity ratio of the pump beam to the signal beam is large enough, the pump beam presents a common decaying behaviour without modulational instability (MI), while the signal beam can evolve into a quasistable spatial soliton within a regime in which the pump beam is depleted slightly. The larger the ratio is, the longer the regime is. Such quasistable solitons can overcome the initial perturbations and numerical noises in the course of propagation, perform several cycles of slow oscillation in intensity and width, and persist over tens of diffraction lengths. From physical viewpoints, these solitons actually exist as completely rigorous physical objects. If the ratio is quite small, the pump beam is apt to show MI, during which the signal beam experiences strong expansion and shrinking in width and a drastic oscillation in intensity, or completely breaks up. The simulations using actual experimental parameters demonstrate that the observation of an effectively stable soliton is quite possible in the proposed system.展开更多

Five different aspect ratios of elliptical vessels were designed to compare their mixing time and flow field. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were performed using the k–ε model to calculate the mixing time and simulate turbulent flow field features, such as streamline shape, velocity distribution, vortex core region distribution, and turbulent kinetic energy(TKE) transfer. Visualization was also carried out to track the tinctorial evolution of the liquid phase. Results reveal that elliptical stirred tanks can significantly improve mixing performance in USTs. Specifically, the mixing time at an aspect ratio of 2.00 is only 45.3% of the one of a circular stirred tank. Furthermore, the secondary flow is strengthened and the vortex core region increases with the increase of aspect ratio. The system consists of two tunneling coupling optomechanical cavities with a mechanical resonator as a coupling interface. By doping CK medium into the mechanical resonator, CK couplings between the cavity fields and the mechanical resonator are introduced. We investigate the effects of CK coupling strength on the transmission spectrum of the cavity field, including the transmission rate, nonreciprocity and four-wave mixing(FWM). We find that the transmission spectrum of the probe field can show two obvious transparent windows, which can be widened by increasing the CK coupling strength. For the transmission between the two cavity fields, the perfect nonreciprocity and reciprocity are present and modulated by CK coupling and phase difference between two effective optomechanical couplings. In addition, the effects of the optomechanical and CK couplings on FWM show that the single peak of FWM is split into three symmetrical peaks due to the introduction of the CK effect.展开更多

Using the linear response theory(LRT), the expressions of the spectral amplification at fundamental and higher-order harmonic are obtained. The effects of damping coefficient, noise intensity, signal amplitude, and frequency on spectral amplifications are explored. Meanwhile, the power spectral density(PSD) and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) are calculated to quantify SR and verify the theoretical results. The SNRs at the first and second harmonics exhibit a minimum first and a maximum later with increasing noise intensity. That is, both of the noise-induced suppression and resonance can be observed by choosing proper system parameters. Especially, when the ratio of the second harmonic amplitude to the fundamental one takes a large value, the SNR at the fundamental harmonic is a monotonic function of noise intensity and the SR phenomenon disappears.展开更多

This paper aims at the improvement in ejector-diffuser system by focusing attention on entrainment ratio and pressure recovery. Several mixing guide vanes were installed at the inlet of the secondary stream for the purpose of the performance improvement of the ejector system. A Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method based on Fluent has been applied to simulate the supersonic flows and shock waves inside the ejector. A finite volume scheme and density-based solver with coupled scheme were applied in the computational process. Standard k-ω turbulent model, implicit formulations were used considering the accuracy and stability. Previous experimental results showed that more flow vortexes were generated and more vertical flow was introduced into the stream under a mixing guide vane influence. Besides these effects on the secondary stream, the mixing guide vane effects on the shock system of the primary stream were also investigated in this paper. Optimal analysis results of the mixing guide vane effects were also carried out in detail in terms of the positions, lengths and numbers to achieve the best operation condition. The comparison of ejector performance with and without the mixing guide vane was obtained. The ejector-diffuser system performance is discussed in terms of the entrainment ratio, pressure recovery as well as total pressure loss.展开更多

文摘Surface waves have a considerable effect on vertical mixing in the upper ocean. In the past two decades, the vertical mixing induced through nonbreaking surface waves has been used in ocean and climate models to improve the simulation of the upper ocean. Thus far, several nonbreaking wave-induced mixing parameterization schemes have been proposed;however,no quantitative comparison has been performed among them.In this paper,a one-dimensional ocean model was used to compare the performances of five schemes, including those of Qiao et al.(Q),Hu and Wang(HW),Huang and Qiao(HQ),Pleskachevsky et al.(P),and Ghantous and Babanin(GB).Similar to previous studies, all of these schemes can decrease the simulated sea surface temperature(SST),increase the subsurface temperature, and deepen the mixed layer, thereby alleviating the common thermal deviation problem of the ocean model for upper ocean simulation.Among these schemes, the HQ scheme exhibited the weakest wave-induced mixing effect, and the HW scheme exhibited the strongest effect;the other three schemes exhibited roughly the same effect. In particular, the Q and P schemes exhibited nearly the same effect. In the simulation based on observations from the Ocean Weather Station Papa, the HQ scheme exhibited the best performance, followed by the Q scheme. In the experiment with the HQ scheme, the root-mean-square deviation of the simulated SST from the observations was 0.43℃,and the mixed layer depth(MLD)was 2.0 m.As a contrast, the deviations of the SST and MLD reached 1.25℃ and 8.4 m,respectively,in the experiment without wave-induced mixing.

文摘We theoretically study the transmission spectrum of the cavity field in a double-cavity optomechanical system with cross-Kerr(CK) effect. In addition, the effects of the optomechanical and CK couplings on FWM show that the single peak of FWM is split into three symmetrical peaks due to the introduction of the CK effect.

文摘Li/Ni mixing negatively influences the discharge capacity of lithium nickel oxide and high-nickel ternary cathode materials. However, accurately measuring the Li/Ni mixing degree is difficult due to the preferred orientation of labbased XRD measurements using Bragg–Brentano geometry. Here,we find that employing spherical harmonics in Rietveld refinement to eliminate the preferred orientation can significantly decrease the measurement error of the Li/Ni mixing ratio. The Li/Ni mixing ratio obtained from Rietveld refinement with spherical harmonics shows a strong correlation with discharge capacity, which means the electrochemical capacity of lithium nickel oxide and high-nickel ternary cathode can be estimated by the Li/Ni mixing degree. Our findings provide a simple and accurate method to estimate the Li/Ni mixing degree, which is valuable to the structural analysis and screening of the synthesis conditions of lithium nickel oxide and high-nickel ternary cathode materials.

文摘In continuous casting production, droplet characteristics are important parameters for evaluating the nozzle atomization quality, and have a significant impact on the secondary cooling effect and the slab quality. In order to study the behavior of atomized droplets after reaching the slab surface and to optimize the spray cooling effect, the influence of droplet diameter and droplet velocity on the migration behavior of droplets in the secondary cooling zone was analyzed by FLUENT software. Results show that the droplets in the spray zone and on the slab surface are mainly concentrated in the center, thus, the liquid volume fraction in the center is higher than that of either side.As the droplet diameter increases, the region of high liquid volume fraction on the slab surface becomes wider, and the liquid phase distribution in the slab width direction becomes uneven.Although increasing the droplet velocity at the nozzle exit has little effect on droplet diffusion in the spray zone, the distribution becomes more uneven due to more liquid reaches the slab surface per unit time.A prediction formula of the maximum water flow rate on the slab surface for specific droplet characteristics was proposed based on dimensionless analysis and validated by simulated data.A nozzle spacing of 210 mm was recommended under the working conditions in this study, which ensures effective coverage of the spray water over the slab surface and enhances the distribution uniformity of water flow rate in the transverse direction.

文摘A recent study by Liu et al.(2020)suggested that due to the saturation of equatorially trapped planetary waves with different dynamical types, temporal periods, meridional and baroclinic modes, complex layer structures of vertical velocity shear and hence turbulent mixing could frequently occur in the thermocline of the eastern equatorial Pacific. We investigated the occurrence of the interior turbulent mixing as indicated by shear instabilities, above the Equatorial Undercurrent(EUC)core at three equatorial sites along 140°W,170°W,and 165°E,respectively,based mainly on data from the Tropical Atmosphere and Ocean(TAO)mooring array. We found that turbulent mixing bursts persisted in the thermocline of all three sites.Specifically, the interior turbulent mixing layers(ITMLs)could occur in probability of approximately 68%,53%,and 48%at the three sites, respectively. The overall occurrence probability shows obvious and similar biannual variations at 140°W and 170°W,which is higher in boreal from late summer to winter and lower in spring.Vertically, the ITMLs are primarily located above the EUC core and prevail in deeper(shallower)layers from late summer to winter(spring). Most ITMLs(70%)lasted for hours to 3 days, and a few of them(15%)for more than 7 days. The thicknesses of ITMLs were concentrated between 15 and 55 m.At 165°E,the vertical distribution of ITML occurrence probability was different from that at 140°W and 170°W,as it did not show a preference for depths;the durations of ITMLs are short(also from hours to several days)and their thicknesses were between 5 and 25 m.These properties, particularly the high occurrence probability, and short durations demonstrated the persistence of thermocline mixing in the western to eastern equatorial Pacific thermocline and confirmed the generation mechanism by persistent equatorial waves as well.
文摘Heavy-fuel engines are widely used in UAVs(Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles)because of their reliability and high-power density. In this study,a combustion model for an in-cylinder direct injection engine has been imple-mented using the AVL FIRE software. The effects of the angle of nozzle inclination on fuel evaporation, mixture distribution, and combustion in the engine cylinder have been systematically studied at 5500 r/min and consider-ing full load cruise conditions.According to the results,as the angle of nozzle inclination increases, the maximum combustion explosion pressure in the cylinderfirst increases and then it decreases. When the angle of nozzle incli-nation is less than 45°,the quality of the mixture in the cylinder and the combustion performance can be improved by increasing the angle. When the angle of nozzle inclination is greater than 45°,however,the mixture unevenness increases slightly with the angle, leading to a deterioration of the combustion performances. When the angle of nozzle inclination is between 35°and 55°,the overall combustion performance of the engine is rela-tively good. When the angle of nozzle inclination is 45°,the combustion chamber’s geometry and the cylinder’s airflow are well matched with the fuel spray, and the mixture quality is the best.Compared with 25°,the peak heat release rate increases by 20%,and the maximum combustion burst pressure increases by 5.5%.

文摘How to effectively evaluate the firing precision of weapon equipment at low cost is one of the core contents of improving the test level of weapon system.A new method to evaluate the firing precision of the MLRS considering the credibility of simulation system based on Bayesian theory is proposed in this paper.First of all,a comprehensive index system for the credibility of the simulation system of the firing precision of the MLRS is constructed combined with the group analytic hierarchy process.A modified method for determining the comprehensive weight of the index is established to improve the rationality of the index weight coefficients. The Bayesian posterior estimation formula of firing precision considering prior information is derived in the form of mixed prior distribution, and the rationality of prior information used in estimation model is discussed quantitatively. With the simulation tests, the different evaluation methods are compared to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Finally, the experimental results show that the effectiveness of estimation method for firing precision is improved by more than 25%.

文摘Tho Gudui geothermal field records the highest temperature at equivalent borehole depths among the lainland hydrothermal systems in China's Mainland.Located about 150 km southeast of Lhasa City, the capital of Tibet, the Gudui geothermal field belongs to the Sangri-Cuona rift belt, also known as the Sangri-Cuona geothermal belt, and is representative of the non-volcanic geothermal systems in the Himalayas. In this study,oxygen-18 and deuterium isotope compositions as well as 87Sr/86Sr ratios of water samples collected from the Gudui geothermal field were characterized to understand the origin and mixing processes of the geothermal fluids at Gudui.Hydrogen and oxygen isotope plots show both, deep and shallow reservoirs in the Gudui geothermal field.Deep geothermal fluids are the mixing product of magmatic and infiltrating snow-melt water.Calculations show that the magma fluid component of the deep geothermal fluids account for about 21.10%-24.04%;magma fluids lay also be a contributing source of lithium. The linear relationship of the 87Sr/86Sr isotopic ratio versus the 1/Sr plot indicates that shallow geothermal fluids form from the mixing of deep geothermal fluids with cold groundwater.Using a binary mixing model with deep geothermal fluid and cold groundwater as two end-members,the nixing ratios of the latter in most surface hot springs samples were calculated to be between 5% and 10%.Combined with basic geological characteristics, hydrogen and oxygen isotope characteristics, strontium concentration,87Sr/(86)Sr ratios, and the binary mixing model,we infer the 6 th-Class Reservoirs Evolution Conceptual Model(6-CRECM) for the Gudui geothermal system. This model represents an idealized summary of the characteristics of the Gudui geothermal field based on our comprehensive understanding of the origin and mixing processes of the geothermal fluid in Gudui. This study may aid in identifying the geothermal and geochemical origin of the Gudui high-temperature hydrothermal systems in remote Tibet of China, whose potential for geothermal development and utilization is enormous and untapped.

文摘Stochastic resonance(SR) is studied in an under-damped bistable system driven by the harmonic mixing signal and Gaussian white noise. Especially, when the ratio of the second harmonic amplitude to the fundamental one takes a large value, the SNR at the fundamental harmonic is a monotonic function of noise intensity and the SR phenomenon disappears.
文摘A study of thirteen geothermal springs located in the geothermal field of Guelma, northeastern Algeria, was conducted.Samples were collected during the period between January 2014 and February 2016.Geochemical processes responsible for the chemical composition of thermal and mineralized water were evaluated. The hydrochemical analysis shows that the thermal waters are characterized by the presence of two different chemical facies, the first type SO4-Ca in the east, west and south of Guelma, the second type HCO3-Ca in the south. This analysis also attributed to sodium, chlorides, and sulfates to an evaporitic terrigenous origin by the molar ratio Sr2+/Ca2+.The thermal spring waters from Guelma geothermal system have a meteoric origin, and all samples are immature with strong mixing between hot and shallow waters with 19-38.5%rate of mixing. The silica geothermometer shows that these thermal waters have a temperature varying from 84 to 122℃and that the water came from a depth of 2100-3000 m through a fault system that limits the pullapart basin of Guelma.Potential environmental effluent from thermal spas could pollute in both the irrigation and drinking waters, and which imposes danger on the health of the inhabitants of the region.
文摘The flow field in the ejector-diffuser system and its optimal operation condition are hardly complicated due to the complicated turbulent mixing, compressibility effects and even flow unsteadiness which are generated inside the ejector- diffuser system. The ejector-diffuser system performance is discussed in terms of the entrainment ratio, pressure recovery as well as total pressure loss.

文摘Harmonic nonlinear ultrasound can offer high sensitivity for residual stress measurements;however,it cannot be used for local stress measurements at a point in space and exhibits nonlinear distortions in the experimental system. This paper presents a feasibility study on the measurement of residual stress in a metal plate using a nonlinear Lamb wave-mixing technique. The resonant conditions for two Lamb waves to generate a mixing frequency wave are obtained via theoretical analysis.Finite element simulations are performed to investigate the nonlinear interactions between the two Lamb waves. Results show that two incident A0 waves interact in regions of material nonlinearity and generate a rightward S0 wave at the sum frequency.Residual stress measurement experiments are conducted on steel plate specimens using the collinear Lamb wave-mixing technique.By setting different delays for two transmitters, the generated sum-frequency component at different spatial locations is measured.Experimental results show that the spatial distribution of the amplitude of the sum-frequency component agrees well with the spatial distribution of the residual stress measured using X-rays.The proposed collinear Lamb wave-mixing method is effective for measuring the distribution of residual stress in metal plates.
