The factors that influence users' adoption of mobile payment are worth exploring. This study employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to examine determinant factors affecting consumers'acceptance intentions of mobile payment. We adopt Hofstede's cultural dimensions as moderators to extend the TAM model for exploring the impact of uncertainty avoidance on mobile payment acceptance. Based on the data from China and United State, we conduct a confirmatory factor analysis and the results show an adequate level of reliability and validity, with Cronbach's Alpha value, Composite Reliability (CR) value and Average Variance Extracted (AVE) value greater than 0.850, 0.823 and 0. 519 separately. The model and the relationship between the variables are confirmed based on SEM. Multi-Group Analysis is used to test the moderating effect and it shows that the moderating effects of Uncertainty Avoidance on PR-->BI, PU-->BI and SN-->BI are significant at 0.049, 0.032 and 0.000 significance level. Results support that Uncertainty Avoidance has a profound moderating effect on users' behavior intention to use mobile payment.展开更多

This kind of transactions is preferred to be executed conveniently and on the fly by just tapping a mobile payment device to a mobile terminal. Mobility, convenience and fast transaction execution are very important payment system properties in potentially crowded places such as in public transportation. These properties are in practice causing transaction execution problems, such as: delays in offline transaction execution, transaction atomicity failures caused by mobile data communication drops, lack of central control on mobile transaction system components and increased vulnerability risk caused by easy physical access to the mobile transaction system components. This paper describes a holistic transaction processing model for resolving mentioned problems in micropayment mobile touch-and-go transaction systems. Defined processing model was implemented on real public transportation mobile payment system where it was proven as a robust solution for execution of small value touch-and-go mobile ticketing transactions.展开更多

In fact, cashless transactions through simple mobile apps are not merely a concept anymore rather are implemented robustly and being used extensively. On the dark side, obvious financial benefits are making these apps vulnerable to being attacked, which can be successful through security breaches. These cybersecurity issues need to be traced out and resolved to make the financial transactions through an app secure and trustworthy. In this paper, several related papers are analyzed to trace out possible cybersecurity issues in the domain of Electronic Transaction System. The objective is to establish sufficient theoretical background to propose methodologies for measuring security issues and also identify the security strength of any FinTech application and provide standard security metrics.展开更多

For mission critical applications, like the electronic payment which will be discussed in this paper, the lack of trust in the underlying mobile infrastructure and secure interface to legacy systems (for this case, the banking systems) poses obstacles to their widespread presence in mobile services. Recently, the exposure of hacking of iPhone and other smart phones further emphasizes the criticality of establishing a trust platform for mobile applications. This paper analyzes the building blocks of the trusted smart phone, and proposes a framework to provide a trusted platform for mobile electronic payment. Such a proposed system may allow direct interface to the banking systems due to the banking industry recognized strong security, and hence, may enable its widespread use.展开更多

This is especially true of mobile payments, which are attracting increasing attention However, the occurrence of many traditional financial mishaps has exposed the challenges inherent in online authentication technology that is based on traditional modes of realizing the healthy and stable development of mobile payment. In addition, this technology ensures user account security and privacy. In this paper, we propose a Secure Mutual Authentication Protocol (SMAP) based on the Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) protocol for mobile payment. To guarantee reliable service, we use an asymmetric cryptosystem for achieving mutual authentication between the server and client, which can resist fake servers and forged terminals. Compared to the modes currently used, the proposed protocol strengthens the security of user account information as well as individual privacy throughout the mobile-payment transaction process. Practical application has proven the security and convenience of the proposed protoco展开更多

To reduce the computation burden of resources-constraint mobile devices, a few mobile wallet protocols with outsourced verification in cloud computing were proposed. But in some of the protocols, there exist the risk of a colluding attack of the customer and the untrusted cloud server. The malicious customer and cloud server cannot change the payment information to conduct a collusion forgery attack to defraud the merchant. The security analysis indicates that the proposed improved protocol can enhance the security in terms of correctness, unforgeability and traceability without increasing the computational burden.展开更多

The architecture is based on a sampling-detection module and a charge pump phase locked loop. Compared with clock recovery in conventional 13.56 MHz transponders, this circuit can recover a high-precision consecutive carrier clock from the on/off keying (OOK) signal sent by interrogators. Fabricated by a SMIC 0.18-μm EEPROM CMOS process, this chip works from a single power supply as low as 1.5 V. Measurement results show that this circuit provides 0.34% frequency deviation and 8 mV sensitivity.展开更多
