Design/methodology/approach: Taking a hybrid model combining TAM and extended expectation confirmation model (ECM) as foundation, this study integrated experiential value into the research model. A survey method was adopted and the sample was constituted by 347 Chinese undergraduates who were experienced users of mobile interest-based community applications. Structural equation modeling was used to test the research model. Findings: Our findings suggest that 1) key determinants of user satisfaction with mobile interest-based community applications are confirmation, perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU) and experiential value. Both satisfaction and PU are directly correlated with continuance intention; 2) PU's impact on satisfaction and continuance intention has been confirmed again in this study. Although PEU has no direct impact on satisfaction and continuance intention, it may indirectly affect them via PU; 3) all the perceived experiential values (aesthetics, playfulness, service excellence and return on investment) have a positive influence on satisfaction. Research limitations: We did not examine the effects of individual user differences that may also be important for understanding satisfaction and continuance intention. Practical implications: The study findings can help service providers improve the use of mobile interest-based community applications. Originality/value: Our study contributes to a more systematic understanding of factors that influence continuous use of mobile interest-based community applications.展开更多

To better understand the role of each region, the relations between city regions need to be carefully studied. In this work, the human mobility relations between regions of Shanghai based on mobile phone data is explored. By formulating the regions as nodes in a network and the commuting between each pair of regions as link weights, the distribution of nodes degree, and spatial structures of communities in this relation network are studied. Statistics show that regions locate in urban centers and traffic hubs have significantly larger degrees. Moreover, two kinds of spatial structures of communities are found. In most communities, nodes are spatially neighboring. However, in the communities that cover traffic hubs, nodes often locate along corridors.展开更多

This paper therefore assessed the importance of stake holders’ mobilization and awareness creation for the promotion of technologies for EXW control in Ethiopia among 2010-2012. Individual interviews and direct on-farm participatory monitoring and observation with 60 farm households, key informant interviews, relevant secondary data, literature and inter-personal data were collected from unpublished progress report from National Enset Research Project, elderly people and senior experts. Results showed that about 25.6% of farmers’ field was infected by the disease in 2007 and the level reached 54.5% in 2010. End line assessment has shown that the disease prevalence declined to 10 percent in 2013. Disease incidence has shown that the intensity was highest in 2010;that is on average more than 17 enset were infected by the disease and shown significant decline in 2013 to about 1 infected enset on the infected fields. The intervention brought about promising step-ups in controlling the devastation by EXW. This intervention demonstrated that the disease impact can be minimized to a significant level if community mobilization and awareness creation with other local formal and informal institutions go hand in hand to out scale the experience to a wider range of enset farming communities.展开更多

The current method of disseminating researchers’ knowledge to the communities in the Arusha region in Tanzania is through meetings, workshops, and focus group discussions held by researchers, agricultural extension officers and community members after every three months or during field study. Yet the strategy is inefficient and ineffective in practice. The purpose of this study was to determine the most efficient and successful method of disseminating knowledge in communities. The study began with a qualitative phase, utilizing an interpretive technique and a qualitative multiple case study research design. The Arusha region in Tanzania was selected as a case study where different social activities were undertaken, including farming, livestock keeping, tourism activities and fishing. Individual participants were interviewed by using a semi-structured questionnaire. In addition, focus group discussions were conducted to gather more information regarding the needs of the mobile application. Through the implementation of the application, the second phase of the study led to the development of a mobile application that includes community members, agricultural extension officers, and researchers that will enable anyone to install the application on their mobile phones to access knowledge regarding activities undertaken in Arusha. According to the findings of the first phase of the research, a substantial percentage of community members own mobile phones, and hence a mobile application would be sufficient. The research also found that most researcher-community interactions occur at the data collection and intervention assessment (field trials) stages. Hence, the mobile application will benefit community members, district agricultural, irrigation, and cooperative officers (DAICO), and researchers.展开更多

Vertical profile of PD3-4 concentration and redox potential (Eh) of pore water in sediments were investigated within and outside the Phragmites australis community. Sediment horizon lower than 23 cm layer from the surface showed anaerobic (Eh australis community, whereas sediment was constantly oxic (Eh > 0 mV) up to 50 cm depth outside the P. australis community without organic matter accumulation. Non-vegetated sediment with organic matter accumulation showed anoxic profile as vegetated site. PD3-4 concentration in anaerobic parts of sediment showed higher than oxic parts, and higher PD3-4 concentration in sediment pore water corresponded to sulfur deposition in sediment. Sulfate ion supplied from the sea water is reduced under the anoxic condition and S2- reacts with water-insoluble phosphorus salts e.g. Fe3(PO4)2 or AlPO4 and Fe2S3 or Al2S3 precipitates. Thus PD3-4 was mobilized and released under anoxic sediments. P. australis supply organic litter to sediment and the sediment within the P. australis community showed anoxic after aerobic decomposition of organic substances in sediment. Incubation of sediments under N2 atmosphere accumulated PD3-4 in the medium corresponding to low Eh (3-4 was released under anaerobic condition. Estuary P. australis community has function for supplying PD3-4 to river water.展开更多

Numerous studies have been carried out in order to optimize the distribution and provision of content to end users. This is emphasized in today’s mobile networks that the ubiquity of network resources is considered an expected fact. In this paper we propose an architecture that is based on node co-operation that enhances the content distribution and retrieval. The architecture consists of the formation of loosely coupled and autonomous communities among nodes that share common interests where the already existing content is shared in a “common pool”. The co-operation is enforced by the acquisition of extra bandwidth that is distributed to the most helpful members. The autonomic aspect of the communities is based on the embedded mechanisms for cluster behavior, namely, voting, where the nodes decide themselves which members should be awarded, and reporting, where misbehaving nodes are removed from the community. In this paper the different elements of the architecture will be described, together with a theoretic study of its viability, and finally a set of simulations that evaluate its performance.展开更多

Discovering typed communities (e.g., family communities or corporate communities) in mobile social networks is a very promising problem. For example, it can help mobile operators to determine the target users for precision marketing. In this paper we propose discovering typed communities in mobile social networks by utilizing the labels of relationships between users. We use the user logs stored by mobile operators, including communication and user movement records, to collectively label all the relationships in a network, by employing an undirected probabilistic graphical model, i.e., conditional random fields. Then we use two methods to discover typed communities based on the results of relationship labeling: one is simply retaining or cutting relationships according to their labels, and the other is using sophisticated weighted community detection algorithms. The experimental results show that our proposed framework performs well in terms of the accuracy of typed community detection in mobile social networks.展开更多

In this paper, we design an architecture for a mobile group communication system (MGCS) on campus by using Wi-Fi networks and smart devices. The architecture is composed of a web-based system and a smart device based mobile system. Through the systems, users on campus create community/mobile group, maintain dynamic group membership, and reliably deliver the message to other users. We use the common features of many smart devices to develop a prototype that works on off-the-shelf hardware. In the experimental section, we demonstrate our system using various real scenarios which can occur in university campuses.展开更多

Smart phone bring us great convenience, but it also becomes the breeding ground for the spread of malicious codes. In this paper, we propose a trust transfer algorithm based on the ant colony optimization algorithm to calculate the trust degree between any two nodes in the social network. Afterwards, a defense model based on social computing is presented for mobile phone malware. The simulation results show that our trust transfer algorithm improves the computation accuracy of indirect trust value by 14.65% compared with the TidalTrust algorithm, and the patch transmission speed of our model is faster than that of others.展开更多

文摘Environmental effects of nano remediation engineering of arsenic(As)pollution need to be considered. In this study, the roles of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)nanoparticles(NPs)on the microbial mediated As mobilization from As contaminated soil were investigated. The addition of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs restrained As(V)release, and stimulated As(Ⅲ)release. As(V)concentration decreased by 94% and 93% after Fe_(2)O_(3)addition,and decreased by 89% and 45% after Ti O_(2)addition compared to the Biotic and Biotic+Acetate(amended with sodium acetate)controls, respectively. The maximum values of As(Ⅲ)were 20.5 and 27.1μg/L at 48 d after Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs addition, respectively, and were higher than that in Biotic+Acetate control(12.9μg/L).The released As co-precipitated with Fe in soils in the presence of Fe_(2)O_(3)NPs,but adsorbed on TiO_(2)NPs in the presence of TiO_(2)NPs.Moreover,the addition of NPs amended with sodium acetate as the electron donor clearly promoted As(V)reduction induced by microbes. The NPs addition changed the relative abundance of soil bacterial community, while Proteobacteria(42.8%-70.4%),Planctomycetes(2.6%-14.3%),and Firmicutes(3.5%-25.4%)were the dominant microorganisms in soils.Several potential As/Fe reducing bacteria were related to Pseudomonas,Geobacter,Desulfuromonas, and Thiobacillus. The addition of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs induced to the decrease of arr A gene. The results indicated that the addition of NPs had a negative impact on soil microbial population in a long term. The findings offer a relatively comprehensive assessment of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs effects on As mobilization and soil bacterial communities.
文摘The existing radio access network(RAN)is facing many challenges to meet the very strict speed and latency requirements by different mobile applications in addition to the increasing pressure to reduce operating cost.Innovation and development in RAN have been accelerated to tackle these challenges and to define how next generation mobile networks should look like. The role of machine learning(ML)and artificial intelligence(AI)driven innovations within the RAN domain is strengthening and attracting lots of attention to tackle many of the challenging problems. In this paper we surveyed RAN network base stations(BSs)clustering and its applications in the literature. The paper also demonstrates how to leverage community detection algorithms to understand underlying community structures within RAN.Tracking areas(TAs)novel framework was developed by adapting existing community detection algorithm to solve the problem of statically partitioning a set of BSs into TA according to mobility patterns. Finally, live network dataset in dense urban part of Cairo is used to assess how the developed framework is used to partition this part of the network more efficiently compared to other clustering techniques. Results obtained showed that the new methodology saved up to 34.6%of inter TA signaling overhead and surpassing other conventional clustering algorithms.

文摘This research focuses on the impact of family's human capital on social mobility in China's rural community.Empirical research is conducted based on data from surveying a typical rural community in the past 20 yr.The study indicates that social mobility in rural area is active in the past 20 yr,and the human capital of family, represented by primary labor's education level, has played an essential role in mobility of low social class.Meanwhile,socio-economic development and the change of supply and demand in labor market dims the signaling role of degree education, but the impact of occupational training is increasingly remarkable. Therefore, the change from sole degree education to multi-leveled education including occupational education and training is a main way for China's rural families in low class to realize social mobility.
文摘In order to determine the contribution of aquatic macrophyte communities on nutrition to sustain the high primary productivity of an estuary aquatic community, we analyzed the process of phosphorus release from sediments in aquatic macrophyte community in the estuary of the Chikugogawa River, South-Western Japan. Estuary P. australis community has function for supplying PD3-4 to river water.
文摘One of the open issues in today’s networking world is efficient content retrieval, storage, and provision. In this paper the different elements of the architecture will be described, together with a theoretic study of its viability, and finally a set of simulations that evaluate its performance.

文摘Mobile social networks, which consist of mobile users who communicate with each other using cell phones are reflections of people's interactions in social lives. The experimental results show that our proposed framework performs well in terms of the accuracy of typed community detection in mobile social networks.
文摘The demand for group communication using smart devices in campus environment is increasing rapidly. In the experimental section, we demonstrate our system using various real scenarios which can occur in university campuses.

文摘Antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)are an emerging issue for drinkingwater safety. However, the seasonal variation of ARGs in drinking water distribution systems(DWDS)is still unclear. This work revealed the tempo-spatial changes of microbial community,ARGs,mobile genetic elements(MGEs)co-occurring with ARGs,ARG hosts in DWDS bulk water by means of metagenome assembly. The microbial community and antibiotic resistome varied with sampling season and site.Temperature, ammonia, chlorite and total plate count(TPC)drove the variations of microbial community structure. Moreover, environmental parameters(total organic carbon(TOC),chlorite,TPC and hardness)shifted antibiotic resistome.ARGs and MGEs co-occurring with ARGs showed higher relative abundance in summer and autumn, which might be attributed to detached pipe biofilm. In particular,ARG-bacitracin and plasmid were the predominant ARG and MGE,respectively.ARG hosts changed with season and site and were more diverse in summer and autumn. In winter and spring,Limnohabitans and Mycobacterium were the major ARG hosts as well as the dominant genera in microbial community. In addition,in summer and autumn, high relative abundance of Achromobacter and Stenotrophomonas were the hosts harboring many kinds of ARGs and MGEs at site in a residential zone(0.4 km from the water treatment plant).Compared with MGEs,microbial community had a greater contribution to the variation of antibiotic resistome. This work gives new insights into the dynamics of ARGs in full-scale DWDS and the underlying factors.

文摘With the convergence of mobile communication network and Internet in depth, mobile Internet is penetrating into every field of people's life. The simulation results show that our trust transfer algorithm improves the computation accuracy of indirect trust value by 14.65% compared with the TidalTrust algorithm, and the patch transmission speed of our model is faster than that of others.
