The expanded agricultural trade deficit in recent years has caused widespread concern about the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.In this paper,guided by Michael Porter's diamond model...The expanded agricultural trade deficit in recent years has caused widespread concern about the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.In this paper,guided by Michael Porter's diamond model theory,based on agricultural production and trade data in China and the world from 1986 to 2011,we use principal component analysis,cointegration and vector error correction model,to perform an empirical analysis of the impact of agricultural modernization,economic growth and industrialization on the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.The results show that China's agricultural modernization is slow,the demand for agricultural products caused by economic growth is increased,and excessive rural labor transfer due to industrialization leads to decline in the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products.China should increase its efforts to promote the modernization of agriculture and level of industry nurturing agriculture;use WTO rules to create a good international and domestic environment for the development of China's agriculture and improvement of the international competitiveness of agricultural products;give full play to the role of demand in boosting the industrial upgrading of domestic agriculture.展开更多

The 13^(th) Five Year Plan is a critical period for the transformation of economic development patterns and economic restructuring, so clarifying the theoretical values and practical significances of the supply-side structural reforms, making a clear explanation of the scientific connotations and policy implications of these reforms from a scientific standpoint, and discussing concrete measures to promote the reforms against the background of the economic new normal not only has academic values but also has important practical implications. Viewed from the practical standpoint of China' s new normal and through analyzing the basic national conditions, this article proposes a roadmap for implementing the proposed reforms and points out that only by doing well in the hybrid operation of "addition, subtraction, multiplication and division", based on the framework of the "five policy pillars", an innovative path of the supply-side structural reforms with Chinese characteristics can be paved.展开更多

Sluggish growth of modern services is particularly dragging on China’s otherwise surging economic and social development; and it puts a strain on industrial restructuring and efforts to build a prosperous and harmonious socialist society. This paper sheds light on outstanding issues concerning the role of China’s modern services in various arenas, including transforming the economic growth pattern, improving economic structuring, upgrading the industrial structure, facilitating technological progress and spurring changes in the employment structure. In the n...The construction of ecological civilization is to firmly grasp the core purpose of harmonious coexistence between human and nature, and realize the sustainable coexistence and development of human and nature. In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, first, we should put the ecological civilization in a prominent position while building a modernized economy facing the deteriorating ecological environment. Second, we should correctly understand the dialectical relationship between the ecological civilization and the modernized economy. On the one hand, there is a contradictory relationship between the ecological civilization and the modernized economy. On the other hand, they are mutually unified. Therefore,we should put the ecological civilization construction in a prominent position, build a modernized economy under the guidance of the concept of ecological civilization, and alleviate the impact of economic development on the balance of ecosystems. Thus, it can promote a new leap in the harmonious development of human and nature. Third, if the economic development is not coordinated with ecological protection, there must be an unknown human crisis behind the prosperity of economy. Therefore, we should integrate the ecological civilization into the modernized economy and develop the economy on the premise of protecting ecological environment. What's more, there are three aspects needed to pay attention to. First, the establishment and improvement of eco-economic system with modern green development should be accelerated to provide a green development impetus for modernized economy. Next, the establishment and improvement of sci-tech innovation system with modern green development should be accelerated to provide scientific and technological support for the modern green economy system.
