Optimal zero-crossing group selection method of the absolute gravimeter based on improved auto-regressive moving average model

An absolute gravimeter is a precision instrument for measuring gravitational acceleration, which plays an important role in earthquake monitoring, crustal deformation, national defense construction, etc. The frequency of laser interference fringes of an absolute gravimeter gradually increases with the fall time. Data are sparse in the early stage and dense in the late stage. The fitting accuracy of gravitational acceleration will be affected by least-squares fitting according to the fixed number of zero-crossing groups. In response to this problem, a method based on Fourier series fitting is proposed in this paper to calculate the zero-crossing point. The whole falling process is divided into five frequency bands using the Hilbert transformation. The multiplicative auto-regressive moving average model is then trained according to the number of optimal zero-crossing groups obtained by the honey badger algorithm. Through this model, the number of optimal zero-crossing groups determined in each segment is predicted by the least-squares fitting. The mean value of gravitational acceleration in each segment is then obtained. The method can improve the accuracy of gravitational measurement by more than 25% compared to the fixed zero-crossing groups method. It provides a new way to improve the measuring accuracy of an absolute gravimeter. 展开更多

The performance of traditional high-resolution direction-of-arrival(DOA)estimation methods is sensitive to the inaccurate knowledge on prior information,including the position of ar-ray elements,array gain and phase,and the mutual coupling between the array elements.Learning-based methods are data-driven and are expected to perform better than their model-based counter-parts,since they are insensitive to the array imperfections.This paper presents a learning-based method for DOA estimation of multiple wideband far-field sources.The processing procedure mainly includes two steps.First,a beamspace preprocessing structure which has the property of fre-quency invariant is applied to the array outputs to perform focusing over a wide bandwidth.In the second step,a hierarchical deep neural network is employed to achieve classification.Different from neural networks which are trained through a huge data set containing different angle combinations,our deep neural network can achieve DOA estimation of multiple sources with a small data set,since the classifiers can be trained in different small subregions.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well both in generalization and imperfections adaptation. 展开更多

To solve the problem of multiple moving sources passive location, a novel blind source separa- tion (BSS) algorithm based on the muhiset canonical correlation analysis (MCCA) is presented by exploiting the different temporal structure of uncorrelated source signals first, and then on the basis of this algorithm, a novel multiple moving sources passive location method is proposed using time difference of arrival (TDOA) and frequency difference of arrival (FDOA) measurements. The key technique of this location method is TDOA and FDOA joint estimation, which is based on BSS. By blindly separating mixed signals from multiple moving sources, the multiple sources location problem can be translated to each source location in turn, and the effect of interference and noise can also he removed. The simulation results illustrate that the performance of the MCCA algorithm is very good with relatively light computation burden, and the location algorithm is relatively simple and effective. 展开更多

By extended analysis on the electric field lines of a charge, it is shown that electric field superposition principle and Gauss’s law are not tenable in some states, involving the electric field of ion atmosphere that is a key concept in Debye-Hückel theory of electrolyte solution and plasma. Unveiling Debye shield, ion atmosphere (Debye spherical layer 1) actually is equivalent to continue to transmit the electric field originated from the central ion, just changing the direction of the electric field. Debye spherical layer 2 and multiple Debye spherical layers generate in the transmission. Liquid phase synthesis of one of the important fuel oxygenate, ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), from etha-nol and tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) has been studied in catalytic distillation column (CDC) using ion exchange resin catalyst CT-145H. A packed CDC of 1.2 m height and 50 mm diameter with indigenously developed reactive sec-tion packing was used to generate experimental data. Effect of different key variables on product purity in distillate, was investigated to find the optimum operating conditions for ETBE synthesis. The optimum conditions for 0.2 kg·s-1 of ethanol feed were found:reboiler duty of 375 W, molar feed ratio of 1︰1.3 of reactants, and reflux ratio of 7. Concentration profiles for each component along each column section at optimum conditions were also drawn. Neither output nor input multiplicity was observed at experimental conditions. 展开更多

Scapular fractures and concomitant injuries

Objective: The association of scapular fractures with other life-threatening injuries including blunt thoracic aortic injury is widely recognized. Few studies have investigated this presumed association. In this study, we investigated the incidence of significant associated injuries with scapular fracture and their outcomes. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted from 2005 to 2009 in a level I trauma center in Thailand. All blunt trauma patients were identified. Patients' demographics, injury mechanism, associated injuries, Injury Severity Score (ISS), and survival outcomes were recorded. The manage- ment of associated injuries with scapular fracture was reviewed, and the risk factors for mortality were identified. Results: Among the 7 345 trauma patients admitted, scapular fractures occurred in 84 cases (1.1%). The mean age was (37.98±15.21) years. Motorcycle crash was the most frequent mechanism of injury, occurring in 51 cases (60.7%).Seventyour patients (88.1%) suffering from scapular fractures had associated injuries: 5 (6.0%) had significant chest injuries, but none of them had blunt thoracic aortic injury. Two patients (2.4%) with scapular fractures died. Factors determining the likelihood of mortality were: (1) ISS〉25 (LR=8.5, P〈0.05); (2) significant associated chest injury (AIS〉3, LR=5.3, P〈0.05) and (3) significant associated abdominal injury (AIS〉3, LR=5.3, P〈0.05). Conclusion: A blunt scapular fracture may not accompany a blunt thoracic aortic injury but it is strongly related to other injuries like chest injury, extremity injury, head injury, etc. If a scapular fracture is found with a high ISS score, high chest or abdomen AIS score, the patient would have a high risk of mortality. 展开更多
