However, safe and effective path planning of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)in the cramped environment is always challenging: conflicts with each other are frequent because of high-density flight paths, collision probability increases because of space constraints, and the search space increases significantly, including time scale, 3D scale and model scale. Thus, this paper proposes a hierarchical collaborative planning framework with a conflict avoidance module at the high level and a path generation module at the low level. The enhanced conflict-base search(ECBS) in our framework is improved to handle the conflicts in the global path planning and avoid the occurrence of local deadlock. And both the collision and kinematic models of UAVs are considered to improve path smoothness and flight safety. Moreover, we specifically designed and published the cramped environment test set containing various unique obstacles to evaluating our framework performance thoroughly. Experiments are carried out relying on Rviz, with multiple flight missions: random, opposite, and staggered, which showed that the proposed method can generate smooth cooperative paths without conflict for at least 60 UAVs in a few minutes. The benchmark and source code are released in https://github.com/inin-xingtian/multi-UAVs-path-planner.展开更多

However, avatar tasks include a multitude of human-to-avatar and avatar-to-avatar interactive applications, e.g., augmented reality navigation, which consumes intensive computing resources. It is inefficient and impractical for vehicles to process avatar tasks locally. Fortunately, migrating avatar tasks to the nearest roadside units(RSU)or unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV) for execution is a promising solution to decrease computation overhead and reduce task processing latency, while the high mobility of vehicles brings challenges for vehicles to independently perform avatar migration decisions depending on current and future vehicle status. To address these challenges, in this paper, we propose a novel avatar task migration system based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MADRL) to execute immersive vehicular avatar tasks dynamically. Specifically, we first formulate the problem of avatar task migration from vehicles to RSUs/UAVs as a partially observable Markov decision process that can be solved by MADRL algorithms. We then design the multi-agent proximal policy optimization(MAPPO) approach as the MADRL algorithm for the avatar task migration problem. To overcome slow convergence resulting from the curse of dimensionality and non-stationary issues caused by shared parameters in MAPPO, we further propose a transformer-based MAPPO approach via sequential decision-making models for the efficient representation of relationships among agents. Finally, to motivate terrestrial or non-terrestrial edge servers(e.g., RSUs or UAVs) to share computation resources and ensure traceability of the sharing records, we apply smart contracts and blockchain technologies to achieve secure sharing management. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms the MAPPO approach by around 2% and effectively reduces approximately 20% of the latency of avatar task execution in UAV-assisted vehicular Metaverses.展开更多

Based on the construction of the basic model of multi-UAVs coordinated trajectory replanning, which includes problem description, threat modeling, constraint conditions, coordinated function and coordination mechanism, a novel Max-Min adaptive Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) approach is presented in detail. In view of the characteristics of multi-UAVs coordinated trajectory replanning in dynamic and uncertain environments, the minimum and maximum pheromone trails in ACO are set to enhance the searching capability, and the point pheromone is adopted to achieve the collision avoidance between UAVs at the trajectory planner layer. Considering the simultaneous arrival and the air-space collision avoidance, an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) is decided first. Then the trajectory and flight velocity of each UAV are determined. Simulation experiments are performed under the complicated combating environment containing some static threats and popup threats. The results demonstrate the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多

Forest fires are a major problem in many nations and fast extinguishing forest fires brings a lot of ecological advantages so proper use of firefighting resources is very critical. In this sense, multi UAVs forest fire suppression system can be effective way to prevent fire outbreaks. In multi agent system, an appropriate task assignment according to the SA (Situational Awareness) is the most essential to conduct mission. We should consider real time re-planning or re-scheduling of multi UAVs team because environmental situations such as wind are changeable and that changes affect the forest fire spreading. Furthermore, we have to think about convergence to a consistent SA because it may take too much time. CBBA (Consensus-Based Bundle Algorithm) is robust decentralized task assignment tool so it can be implemented in real time re-planning application. A simulation model which is the main topic in this paper shows that multi UAVs can be properly operated to suppress forest fires even if there are unpredictable random factors and partial disconnection. The simulation model includes concrete operating scenarios and recursive task re-assign algorithm until fires in the whole area are suppressed.展开更多

To meet such demand, a new path planning meth- od for controlling multi-UAVs is studied to reach multi-waypoints simultaneously under the view of visual navigation technology. A model based on the stable-shortest pythagorean-hodograph (PH) curve is established, which could not only satisfy the demands of visual navigation and control law, but also be easy to compute. Based on the model, a planning algorithm to guide multi-UAVs to reach multi-waypoints at the same time without collisions is developed. The simulation results show that the paths have shorter distance and smaller curvature than traditional methods, which could help to avoid collisions.展开更多

文摘Aiming at the problem of multi-UAV pursuit-evasion confrontation, a UAV cooperative maneuver method based on an improved multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MADRL) is proposed. In this method, an improved Comm Net network based on a communication mechanism is introduced into a deep reinforcement learning algorithm to solve the multi-agent problem. A layer of gated recurrent unit(GRU) is added to the actor-network structure to remember historical environmental states. Subsequently, another GRU is designed as a communication channel in the Comm Net core network layer to refine communication information between UAVs. Finally, the simulation results of the algorithm in two sets of scenarios are given, and the results show that the method has good effectiveness and applicability.

文摘The application of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-mounted base stations is emerging as an effective solution to provide wireless communication service for a target region containing some smart objects(SOs)in internet of things(IoT).This paper investigates the efficient deployment problem of multiple UAVs for IoT communication in dynamic environment. We first define a measurement of communication performance of UAVto-SO in the target region which is regarded as the optimization objective. The state of one SO is active when it needs to transmit or receive the data;otherwise, silent. The switch of two different states is implemented with a certain probability that results in a dynamic communication environment. In the dynamic environment, the active states of SOs cannot be known by UAVs in advance and only neighbouring UAVs can communicate with each other. To overcome these challenges in the deployment,we leverage a game-theoretic learning approach to solve the position-selected problem. This problem is modeled a stochastic game, which is proven that it is an exact potential game and exists the best Nash equilibria(NE).Furthermore,a distributed position optimization algorithm is proposed, which can converge to a pure-strategy NE.Numerical results demonstrate the excellent performance of our proposed algorithm.
文摘In this paper, based on a bidirectional parallel multi-branch feature pyramid network(BPMFPN),a novel one-stage object detector called BPMFPN Det is proposed for real-time detection of ground multi-scale targets by swarm unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).First, the bidirectional parallel multi-branch convolution modules are used to construct the feature pyramid to enhance the feature expression abilities of different scale feature layers.Next, the feature pyramid is integrated into the single-stage object detection framework to ensure real-time performance. In order to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, experiments are conducted on four datasets. For the PASCAL VOC dataset, the proposed algorithm achieves the mean average precision(mAP)of 85.4 on the VOC 2007 test set. With regard to the detection in optical remote sensing(DIOR)dataset, the proposed algorithm achieves 73.9 mAP.For vehicle detection in aerial imagery(VEDAI)dataset, the detection accuracy of small land vehicle(slv)targets reaches 97.4 mAP.For unmanned aerial vehicle detection and tracking(UAVDT)dataset, the proposed BPMFPN Det achieves the mAP of 48.75.Compared with the previous state-of-the-art methods, the results obtained by the proposed algorithm are more competitive. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively solve the problem of real-time detection of ground multi-scale targets in aerial images of swarm UAVs.

文摘Multiple Uninhabited Aerial Vehicles (multi-UAVs) coordinated trajectory replanning is one of the most complicated global optimum problems in multi-UAVs coordinated control. The results demonstrate the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
文摘Aiming at the suppression of enemy air defense(SEAD)task under the complex and complicated combat sce-nario,the spatiotemporal cooperative path planning methods are studied in this paper. The major research contents include opti-mal path points generation, path smoothing and cooperative rendezvous. In the path points generation part, the path points availability testing algorithm and the path segments availability testing algorithm are designed,on this foundation, the swarm intelligence-based path point generation algorithm is utilized to generate the optimal path.In the path smoothing part, taking ter-minal attack angle constraint and maneuverability constraint into consideration, the Dubins curve is introduced to smooth the path segments. In cooperative rendezvous part,we take esti-mated time of arrival requirement constraint and flight speed range constraint into consideration, the speed control strategy and flight path control strategy are introduced, further, the decoupling scheme of the circling maneuver and detouring maneuver is designed,in this case, the maneuver ways,maneu-ver point, maneuver times, maneuver path and flight speed are determined. Finally, the simulation experiments are conducted and the acquired results reveal that the time-space cooperation of multiple unmanned aeriel vehicles(UAVs)is effectively real-ized,in this way,the combat situation suppression against the enemy can be realized in SEAD scenarios.
文摘This paper presents a scenario of forest fire suppression using UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and addresses task assignment algorithm to coordinate UAVs. The simulation model includes concrete operating scenarios and recursive task re-assign algorithm until fires in the whole area are suppressed.

文摘This paper discusses the design and implementation of a low cost multi-sensor integrated attitude determination system for small unmanned aerial vehicles( UAVs),which uses strapdown inertial navigation system( SINS) based on micro electromechanical system( MEMS) inertial sensors, commercial GPS receiver, and 3-axis magnetometer.MEMS-SINS initial attitude determination cannot be well performed for the reason that the MEMS inertial sensors biases are time-varying and poor repeatability, therefore in this paper the magnetometer and inclinometer are used to assist the MEMS-SINS initial attitude determination and MEMS inertial sensors field calibration.Furthermore, the attitude determination algorithms are presented to estimate the full attitude during GPS signal outage and non-accelerating situation.Additionally, the attitude information estimation results are compared with the reference of the non-magnetic marble platform and 3-axis turntable. Then the attitude estimation precision satisfies the requirement of attitude measurement for small UAVs during GPS signal outage and availability. Finally, the small UAV autonomous flight test results show that the low cost and real-time attitude determination system can yield continuous, reliable and effective attitude information for small UAVs.
文摘Abstract: There is a high demand for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight stability when using vi- sion as a detection method for navigation control. The simulation results show that the paths have shorter distance and smaller curvature than traditional methods, which could help to avoid collisions.

文摘The main aim of future mobile networks is to provide secure, reliable, intelligent, and seamless connectivity. It also enables mobile network operators to ensure their customer’s a better quality of service(QoS).Nowadays,Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)are a significant part of the mobile network due to their continuously growing use in various applications. For better coverage,cost-effective,and seamless service connectivity and provisioning,UAVs have emerged as the best choice for telco operators.UAVs can be used as flying base stations, edge servers, and relay nodes in mobile networks. On the other side,Multi-access EdgeComputing(MEC)technology also emerged in the 5G network to provide a better quality of experience(QoE)to users with different QoS requirements. However,UAVs in a mobile network for coverage enhancement and better QoS face several challenges such as trajectory designing, path planning, optimization,QoS assurance, mobilitymanagement, etc. The efficient and proactive path planning and optimization in a highly dynamic environment containing buildings and obstacles are challenging. So,an automated Artificial Intelligence(AI)enabled QoSaware solution is needed for trajectory planning and optimization. Therefore, this work introduces a well-designed AI and MEC-enabled architecture for a UAVs-assisted future network. It has an efficient Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL)algorithm for real-time and proactive trajectory planning and optimization. It also fulfills QoS-aware service provisioning.A greedypolicy approach is used to maximize the long-term reward for serving more users withQoS.Simulation results reveal the superiority of the proposed DRL mechanism for energy-efficient and QoS-aware trajectory planning over the existing models.
