The characteristics of diffusion in nano-scale pores in matrix and desorption on the matrix surface were both considered in the improved differential equations for seepage flow. By integrating the Langmuir isotherm desorption items into the new total dimensionless compression coefficient in matrix, the transport function and seepage flow could be formalized, simplified and consistent with the conventional form of diffusion equation. Furthermore, by utilizing the Laplace change and Sethfest inversion changes, the calculated results were obtained and further discussions indicated that transfer mechanisms were influenced by diffusion, adsorption/desorption. The research shows that when the matrix permeability is closed to magnitude of 10^-9D, the matrix flow only occurs near the surfacial matrix; as to the actual production, the central matrix blocks are barely involved in the production; the closer to the surface of matrix, the lower the pressure is and the more obvious the diffusion effect is; the behavior of adsorption/desorption can increase the matrix flow rate significantly and slow down the pressure of horizontal well obviously.展开更多

As a result, solid-liquid two-phase flow(hydrate and water) transforms into gas-solid-liquid three-phase flow(methane, hydrate and water) inside the pipeline. The Euler model and CFD-PBM model were used to simulate gas-solid-liquid three-phase flow. Numerical simulation results show that the gas and solid phase gradually accumulate to the center of the pipe. Flow velocity decreases from center to boundary of the pipe along the radial direction. Comparison of numerical simulation results of two models reveals that the flow state simulated by CFD-PBM model is more uniform than that simulated by Euler model, and the main behavior of the bubble is small bubbles coalescence to large one. Comparison of numerical simulation and experimental investigation shows that the values of flow velocity and gas fraction in CFD-PBM model agree with experimental data better than those in Euler model. The proposed PBM model provides a more accurate and effective way to estimate three-phase flow state of transporting gas hydrate within the submarine pipeline.展开更多

An Euler–Euler two-fluid model was employed coupled with a species transport equation for alumina content. Three different anode configurations such as anode without a slot, anode with a longitudinal slot and anode with a transversal slot were studied in the simulation. The simulation results clearly show that the slots can reduce the bath velocity and promote the releasing of the anode gas, but can not contribute to the uniformity of the alumina content. Comparisons of the effects between the longitudinal and transversal slots indicate that the longitudinal slot is better in terms of gas–liquid flow but is disadvantageous for alumina mixing and transport process due to a decrease of anode gas under the anode bottom surface. It is demonstrated from the simulations that the mixing and transfer characteristics of alumina are controlled to great extent by the anode gas forces while the electromagnetic forces(EMFs) play the second role.展开更多

A dis- crete-fracture model is used to simplify the fracture mod- cling, and a finite element method is applied to solve the model. The numerical simulation results indicate that with a decrease in the intrinsic matrix permeability, Knudsen diffusion and surface diffusion contributions to production become large and cannot be ignored. The existence of an adsorption layer on the nanopore surfaces reduces the effective pore radius and the effective porosity, resulting in low production from fractured horizontal wells. With a decrease in the pore radius, considering the adsorption layer, the production reduction rate increases. When the pore radius is less than 10 nm, because of the combined impacts of Knudsen diffusion, surface diffusion, and adsorption layers, the production of multi-stage fractured horizontal wells increases with a decrease in the pore pressure. When the pore pressure is lower than 30 MPa, the rate of production increase becomes larger with a decrease in pore pressure.展开更多

It is elucidated that the normal incidence transmission in the bilayer graphene is identical to that in the 2DEG but totally different from that in the monolayer graphene. However, resonant peaks appear in the non-normal incidence transmission profile for a high barrier in the bilayer graphene, which do not occur in the 2DEG. Furthermore, there are tunneling and forbidden regions in the transmission spectrum for each material, and the division of the two regions has been given in the work. The tunneling region covers a wide range of the incident energy for the two graphene systems, but only exists under specific conditions for the 2DEG. The counterparts of the transmission in the conductance profile are also given for the three materials, which may be used as high-performance devices based on the bilayer graphene.展开更多

The growth of automobile is faster than the growth of human population. From 2000-2009, Omani population has increased by 2% per annum while automobile usage in the country has increased by 4.3%. The leadership of Sultanate of Oman has pledged to cut down greenhouse (GHG) emissions by 2% as a commitment to United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Due to very limited public transportation system, traffic congestion and emission from vehicles are high during working days since majority of individuals uses private vehicles as only means of transport. This paper seeks to combine mitigation measures adopted in selected Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and UNFCCC to suggest cost-effective measures suitable in reducing GHG emissions from road transportation sector in Oman. These measures will specifically reduce vehicular emissions during working days where car occupancy rates are very low in an economically sustainable way.展开更多

The proposed PBM model provides a more accurate and effective way to estimate three-phase flow state of transporting gas hydrate within the submarine pipeline.

文摘Different from the conventional gas reservoirs, gas transport in nanoporous shales is complicated due to multiple transport mechanisms and reservoir characteristics. In this work,we presented a unified apparent gas permeability model for real gas transport in organic and inorganic nanopores, considering real gas effect, organic matter(OM)porosity,Knudsen diffusion, surface diffusion, and stress dependence.Meanwhile, the effects of monolayer and multilayer adsorption on gas transport are included. Then,we validated the model by experimental results. The influences of pore radius, pore pressure,OM porosity, temperature, and stress dependence on gas transport behavior and their contributions to the total apparent gas permeability(AGP)were analyzed. The results show that the adsorption effect causes Kn(OM)>Kn(IM)when the pore pressure is larger than 1 MPa and the pore radius is less than 100 nm.The ratio of the AGP over the intrinsic permeability decreases with an increase in pore radius or pore pressure. For nanopores with a radius of less than 10 nm,the effects of the OM porosity, surface diffusion coefficient, and temperature on gas transport cannot be negligible. Moreover, the surface diffusion almost dominates in nanopores with a radius less than 2 nm under high OM porosity conditions. For the small-radius and low-pressure conditions, gas transport is governed by the Knudsen diffusion in nanopores. This study focuses on revealing gas transport behavior in nanoporous shales.

文摘CF3I gas mixtures have attracted considerable attention as potential environmentally-friendly alternatives to SF6 gas, owing to their excellent insulating performance. This paper attempts to study the CF3I ternary gas mixtures with c-C4F8 and buffer gases N2 and CO2 by considering dielectric strength from electron transport parameters based on the Boltzmann method and synergistic effect analysis, compared with SF6 gas mixtures. The results confirm that the critical electric field strength of CF3I/c-C4F8/70%CO2 is greater than that of 30%SF6/70%CO2 when the CF3I content is greater than 17%.Moreover,a higher content of c-C4F8 decreases the sensitivity of gas mixtures to an electric field, and this phenomenon is more obvious in CF3I/c-C4F8/CO2 gas mixtures. The synergistic effects for CF3I/c-C4F8/70%N2 were most obvious when the c-C4F8 content was approximately 20%,and for CF3I/c-C4F8/70%CO2 when the c-C4F8 content was approximately 10%.On the basis of this research,CF3I/c-C4F8/70%N2 shows better insulation performance when the c-C4F8 content is in the15%–20%range.For CF3I/c-C4F8/70%CO2,when the c-C4F8 content is in the 10%–15%range,the gas mixtures have excellent performance.Hence, these gas systems might be used as alternative gas mixtures to SF6 in high-voltage equipment.

文摘Numerical simulations of gas–liquid two-phase flow and alumina transport process in an aluminum reduction cell were conducted to investigate the effects of anode configurations on the bath flow, gas volume fraction and alumina content distributions. It is demonstrated from the simulations that the mixing and transfer characteristics of alumina are controlled to great extent by the anode gas forces while the electromagnetic forces(EMFs) play the second role.

文摘In order to investigate the influence on shale gas well productivity caused by gas transport in nanometer- size pores, a mathematical model of multi-stage fractured horizontal wells in shale gas reservoirs is built, which considers the influence of viscous flow, Knudsen diffusion, surface diffusion, and adsorption layer thickness. When the pore pressure is lower than 30 MPa, the rate of production increase becomes larger with a decrease in pore pressure.

文摘By doping gas transport agents (GTA), the combustion process and structural formation of SHS can be significantly varied. In this paper, Ti5Sis was synthesized by SHS method using AICI3·6H2O as GTA. The effect of GTA was studied by measuring combustion process parameters. XRD and SEM were used to determine the phases and microstructures of products. The structural formation of 7V6Si3 with different GTA contents was studied by CFQ method. Three mechanisms were deduced.

文摘We studied and compared the transport properties of charge carriers in bilayer graphene, monolayer graphene, and the conventional semiconductors (the two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG)). The counterparts of the transmission in the conductance profile are also given for the three materials, which may be used as high-performance devices based on the bilayer graphene.
文摘Oman is a fast developing country where about 76% of registered vehicles as of 2014 were private cars with approximately one private car per household. These measures will specifically reduce vehicular emissions during working days where car occupancy rates are very low in an economically sustainable way.
