With the development of urbanization in the world, the large-scale gathering activities are increasing, and the accidents caused by them are also rising. At the same time, the evacuation of visitors is faced with severe challenges in the event of an emergency such as terrorist attacks. The main problem for tourists is how to evacuate quickly and safely in an emergency. The Louvre is one of the largest and most visited art museums in the world.Visitors are large and come from all over the world, the volume of passengers varies greatly, and the interior architecture design is complicated, etc. These characteristics challenge the design of evacuation paths. Based on the consideration of these factors, we should develop the optimal evacuation scheme and minimize the accident risk and evacuation cost.展开更多

Furthermore,an idea of using a set of hyperbolic functions for modeling transitions between layers is proposed for a quantitative model of order functions across the entire flow domain. We conclude that the SED provides a theoretical framework for expressing the yet-unknown effects of fluctuation structures on the mean quantities, and offers new methods to analyze experimental and simulation data.Combined with asymptotic analysis,it also offers a way to evaluate convergence of simulations. The SED approach successfully describes the dynamics at both momentum and energy levels, in contrast with all prevalent approaches describing the mean velocity profile only. Moreover, the SED theoretical framework is general, independent of the flow system to study, while the actual functional form of the order functions may vary from flow to flow.We assert that as the knowledge of order functions is accumulated and as more flows are analyzed, new principles(such as hierarchy, symmetry, group invariance, etc.) governing the role of turbulent structures in the mean flow properties will be clarified and a viable theory of turbulence might emerge.展开更多

By considering the structure factors of multi-layer corrugated boards, the energy absorption model is obtained and characterized by the structure factors of corrugated cell-wall. The model is standardized by the solid modulus and it is universal for corrugated structures of different basis material. In the liner-elastic section, with the increase of the load, the energy absorption per unit volume of multi-layer corrugated boards gradually increases; in the sub-buckling section going with local collapse, the compression resistance of multi-layer corrugated boards goes on under a nearly constant load, but the energy absorption per unit volume rapidly increases with the increase of the compression strain. It is shown as an ascending curve in the energy absorption diagram. In the densification section, the corrugated sandwich core has no energy absorption capability. A good consistency is achieved between theoretical and experimental energy absorption curves. In designing the cushioning package, the cushioning properties can be evaluated by the theoretical model without more experiments. The suggested method to develop the energy absorption diagram for corrugated boards can be used to characterize the cushioning properties and optimize the structures of corrugated sandwich structures.展开更多

However, to the best of the authors' knowledge, little attention has been paid to the study of three-layer fluid models with nanofluids. Therefore, a three-layer fluid flow model with nanofluids is formulated in this paper. The governing coupled nonlinear differential equations of the problem are non-dimensionalized by using appropriate fundamental quantities. The resulting multi-point boundary value problem is solved numerically by quasi-linearization and Richardson's extrapolation with modified boundary conditions. The effects of the model parameters on the flow and heat transfer are obtained and analyzed. The results show that an increase in the nanoparticle concentration in the base fluid can modify the fluid-velocity at the interface of the two fluids and reduce the shear not only at the surface of the clear fluid but also at the interface between them. That is, nanofluids play a vital role in modifying the flow phenomena. Therefore, one can use nanofluids to obtain the desired qualities for the multi-fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics.展开更多

文摘Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)are considered a promising alternative to internal combustion engines in the automotive sector.Their commercialization is mainly hindered due to the cost and effectiveness of using platinum(Pt)in them. The cathode catalyst layer(CL)is considered a core component in PEMFCs,and its composition often considerably affects the cell performance(V_(cell))also PEMFC fabrication and production(C_(stack))costs.In this study,a data-driven multi-objective optimization analysis is conducted to effectively evaluate the effects of various cathode CL compositions on Vcelland Cstack.Four essential cathode CL parameters,i.e.,platinum loading(L_(Pt)),weight ratio of ionomer to carbon(wt_(I/C)),weight ratio of Pt to carbon(wt_(Pt/c)),and porosity of cathode CL(ε_(cCL)),are considered as the design variables. The simulation results of a three-dimensional,multi-scale,two-phase comprehensive PEMFC model are used to train and test two famous surrogates:multi-layer perceptron(MLP)and response surface analysis(RSA).Their accuracies are verified using root mean square error and adjusted R^(2).MLP which outperforms RSA in terms of prediction capability is then linked to a multi-objective non-dominated sorting genetic algorithmⅡ.Compared to a typical PEMFC stack, the results of the optimal study show that the single-cell voltage,Vcellis improved by 28 m V for the same stack price and the stack cost evaluated through the U.S department of energy cost model is reduced by$5.86/k W for the same stack performance.
文摘The large-scale population accumulation in modem cities has become one of their important characteristics. Based on the consideration of these factors, we should develop the optimal evacuation scheme and minimize the accident risk and evacuation cost.
文摘Explosive synchronization(ES)is a kind of first-order jump phenomenon that exists in physical and biological systems. In recent years, researchers have focused on ES between single-layer and multi-layer networks. Most research on complex networks with delay has focused on single-layer or double-layer networks,multi-layer networks are seldom explored. In this paper,we propose a Kuramoto model of frequency weights in multi-layer complex networks with delay and star connections between layers.Through theoretical analysis and numerical verification, the factors affecting the backward critical coupling strength are analyzed. The results show that the interaction between layers and the average node degree has a direct effect on the backward critical coupling strength of each layer network. The location of the delay, the size of the delay, the number of network layers, the number of nodes, and the network topology are revealed to have no direct impact on the backward critical coupling strength of the network.Delay is introduced to explore the influence of delay and other related parameters on ES.

文摘Considering phase changes associated with a high-temperature molten material cooled down from the outside, this work presents an improvement of the modelling and the numerical simulation of such processes for an application pertaining to the safety of light water nuclear reactors.Postulating a core meltdown accident, the behaviour of the core melt(aka corium)into a steel vessel is of tremendous importance when evaluating the vessel integrity.Evaluating correctly the heat fluxes requires the numerical simulation of the interaction between the liquid material and its solid counterpart which forms during the solidification process, but also may melt back.To simulate this configuration,encoun-tered in various industrial applications, one considers a bi-phase model constituted by a liquid phase in contact and interaction with its solid phase. The liquid phase may solidify in presence of low energetic source, while the solid phase may melt due to an intense heat flux from the high-temperature liquid. In the frame of the in-house legacy code, several simplifying assumptions(0D multi-layer discretization, instantaneous heat transfer via a quadratic temperature profile in solids)are made for the modelling of such phase changes. In the present work, these shortcomings are illustrated and further overcome by solving a 2D heat conduction model in the solid by a mixed Raviart-Thomas finite element method coupled to the liquid phase due to heat and mass exchanges through Stefan condition. The liquid phase is modeled with a 0D multi-layer approach. The 0D-liquid and 2D-solid mod-els are coupled by a Stefan like phase change interface model.Several sanity checks are performed to assess the validity of the approach on 1D and 2D academical configurations for which exact or reference solutions are available. Then more advanced situations(genu-ine multi-dimensional phase changes and an"industrial-like scenario")are simulated to verify the appropriate behavior of the obtained coupled simulation scheme.

文摘The quality of printed circuit board(PCB)micro-hole processing directly determines the stability of the inner and outer circuit connections.Micro-hole drilling technology is a typical method for PCB micro-hole processing. The problem of optimal control of its drilling force is one of the main factors affecting the quality of micro-hole machining. To address this problem, the thrust forces and torques in PCB drilling were first modeled and analyzed, and the corresponding prediction models were established. The drilling force analysis was carried out through the micro-hole drilling experiment, the specific cutting energy under different feed rates was calculated, the influence of the size effect was clarified, and the accuracy of the prediction model was verified. The result shows that during the drilling of glass fiber cloth, changes in the material removal mechanism are induced as the feed per revolution is varied. When the feed per revolution is less than the tool edge radius, the glass fiber is not cut by the main cutting edge, but is crushed and broken. When the feed per revolution is greater than the radius of the tool edge, the glass fiber is cut by the main cutting edge.At the same time, the established analytical model can accurately reflect the influence of the size effect on the drilling torque in PCB micro-hole drilling, and the error is within 10%.This method has certain practical application value in controlling PCB micro hole processing quality.

文摘Despite dedicated effort for many decades, statistical description of highly technologically important wall turbulence remains a great challenge.Current models are unfortunately incomplete,or empirical,or qualitative. After a review of the existing theories of wall turbulence,we present a new framework, called the structure ensemble dynamics (SED),which aims at integrating the turbulence dynamics into a quantitative description of the mean flow. The SED theory naturally evolves from a statistical physics understanding of non-equilibrium open systems, such as fluid turbulence, for which mean quantities are intimately coupled with the fluctuation dynamics.Starting from the ensemble-averaged Navier-Stokes(EANS) equations, the theory postulates the existence of a finite number of statistical states yielding a multi-layer picture for wall turbulence. Then,it uses order functions(ratios of terms in the mean momentum as well as energy equations) to characterize the states and transitions between states.Application of the SED analysis to an incompressible channel flow and a compressible turbulent boundary layer shows that the order functions successfully reveal the multi-layer structure for wall-bounded turbulence, which arises as a quantitative extension of the traditional view in terms of sub-layer,buffer layer, log layer and wake. Moreover, the SED theoretical framework is general, independent of the flow system to study, while the actual functional form of the order functions may vary from flow to flow.We assert that as the knowledge of order functions is accumulated and as more flows are analyzed, new principles(such as hierarchy, symmetry, group invariance, etc.) governing the role of turbulent structures in the mean flow properties will be clarified and a viable theory of turbulence might emerge.
文摘Arnol'd's second nonlinear stability criterion for motions governed by a general multilayer quasi-geostrophic model is established. The model allows arbitrary density jumps and layer thickness, and at the top and the bottom of the nuid, the boundary condition is either free or rigid. The criterion is obtained by the establishment of the upper bounds of disturbance energy and potential enstrophy in terms of the initial disturbance field.

文摘Based on the static compression experiments, the compressive stress-strain curve of multi-layer corrugated boards is simplified into three sections of linear elasticity, sub-buckling going with local collapse and densification. The suggested method to develop the energy absorption diagram for corrugated boards can be used to characterize the cushioning properties and optimize the structures of corrugated sandwich structures.

文摘Technologically, multi-layer fluid models are important in understanding fluid-fluid or fluid-nanoparticle interactions and their effects on flow and heat transfer characteristics. Therefore, one can use nanofluids to obtain the desired qualities for the multi-fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics.

文摘The‘Two Oceans and One Sea’area(West Pacific,Indian Ocean, and South China Sea;15°S–60°N,39°–178°E)is a core strategic area for the‘21st Century Maritime Silk Road’project,as well as national defense. With the increasing demand for disaster prevention and mitigation, the importance of 10–30-day extended range prediction, between the conventional short-term(around seven days)and the climate scale(longer than one month),is apparent. However, marine extended range prediction is still a‘blank point’in China, making the early warning of marine disasters almost impossible. Here, the authors introduce a recently launched Chinese national project on a numerical forecasting system for extended range prediction in the‘Two Oceans and One Sea’area based on a regional ultra-high resolution multi-layer coupled model, including the scientific aims, technical scheme, innovation, and expected achievements. The completion of this prediction system is of considerable significance for the economic development and national security of China.
文摘Explosive synchronization(ES)is a first-order transition phenomenon that is ubiquitous in various physical and biological systems. In recent years, researchers have focused on explosive synchronization in a single-layer network, but few in multi-layer networks. This paper proposes a frequency-weighted Kuramoto model in multi-layer complex networks with star connection between layers and analyzes the factors affecting the backward critical coupling strength by both theoretical analysis and numerical validation. Our results show that the backward critical coupling strength of each layer network is influenced by the inter-layer interaction strength and the average degree. The number of network layers, the number of nodes, and the network topology can not directly affect the synchronization of the network.Enhancing the inter-layer interaction strength can prevent the emergence of explosive synchronization and increasing the average degree can promote the generation of explosive synchronization.
