As a result, research on UAVs in close formation has received much attention, and the controller design for formation holding has become a popular research topic in the control field. However, there are many unknown disturbances in tight formation, and the tail aircraft is disturbed by the wake. This paper establishes a mathematical model of wake vortices for tail aircraft that considers uncertainty and strong interference. Two UAVs are simulated by Computational Fluid Dynamics software, followed by the design of a semiphysical simulation model predictive control(MPC) scheme that suppresses uncertainty and interference sufficiently to enable the tail aircraft to accurately track the lead aircraft and maintain a stable, tight formation. A three-dimensional formation keeping strategy for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(multi-UAV) is proposed based on consensus, aiming at maintaining a specified geometric configuration. As the communica...The new method which uses the consensus algorithm to solve the coordinate control problems of multiple unmanned underwater vehicles (multi-UUVs) formation in the case of leader-following is adapted. As the communication between the UUVs is difficult and it is easy to be interfered under the water, time delay is assumed to be time-varying during the members communicate with each other. Meanwhile, the state feedback linearization method is used to transfer the nonlinear and coupling model of UUV into double-integrator dynamic. With this simplified double-integrator math model, the UUV formation coordinate control is regarded as consensus problem with time-varying communication delays. In addition, the position and velocity topologies are adapted to reduce the data volume in each data packet which is sent between members in formation. With two independent topologies designed, two cases of communication delay which are same and different are considered and the sufficient conditions are proposed and analyzed. The stability of the multi-UUVs formation is proven by using Lyapunov-Razumilkhin theorem. Finally, the simulation results are presented to confirm and illustrate the theoretical results.展开更多

A group of UAVs can never accomplish difficult tasks without formation because if disordered they do not work any better than a single vehicle, and a single vehicle is limited by its undeveloped intelligence and insufficient load. Among the many formation methods, consensus has attracted much attention because of its effectiveness and simplicity. However,at the beginning of convergence, overshoot and oscillation are universal because of the limitation of communication and a lack of forecasting, which are inborn shortcomings of consensus. It is natural to modify this method with lots of optimizers. In order to reduce overshoot and smooth trajectories, this paper first adopted particle swarm optimization( PSO), then pigeon-inspired optimization( PIO) to modify the consensus. PSO is a very popular optimizer, while PIO is a new method, both work but still retain disadvantages such as residual oscillation. As a result,it was necessary to modify PIO,and a pigeon-inspired optimization with a slow diving strategy( SD-PIO) is proposed. Convergence analysis was performed on the SD-PIO based on the Banach fixed-point theorem and conditions sufficient for stability were achieved. Finally,a series of comparative simulations were conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多

With the whole system composed of a nonlinear six-degree-of-freedom UAV model, the formation control algorithm and the flight controllers, the formation keeping strategy is closed loop and with full states. In simulation, three-dimensional formation flight demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

文摘In this paper,we investigate formation tracking control of autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs)with model parameter uncertainties and external disturbances. The external disturbances due to the wind, waves, and ocean currents are combined with the model parameter uncertainties as a compound disturbance. Then a disturbance observer(DO)is introduced to estimate the compound disturbance, which can be achieved within a finite time independent of the initial estimation error.Based on a DO,a novel fixed-time sliding control scheme is developed,by which the follower vehicle can track the leader vehicle with all the states globally stabilized within a given settling time. The effectiveness and performance of the method are demonstrated by numerical simulations.

文摘Multiple UAVs are usually deployed to provide robustness through redundancy and to accomplish surveillance, search, attack and rescue missions.Formation reconfiguration was inevitable during the flight when the mission was adjusted or the environment varied.Taking the typical formation reconfiguration from a triangular penetrating formation to a circular tracking formation for example,a path planning method based on Dubins trajectory and particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm is presented in this paper. The mathematic model of multiple UAVs formation reconfiguration was built firstly.According to the kinematic model of aerial vehicles,a process of dimensionality reduction was carried out to simplify the model based on Dubins trajectory. The PSO algorithm was adopted to resolve the optimization problem of formation reconfiguration path planning. Finally, the simulation and vehicles flight experiment are executed. Results show that the path planning method based on the Dubins trajectory and the PSO algorithm can generate feasible paths for vehicles on time,to guarantee the rapidity and effectiveness of formation reconfigurations.Furthermore, from the simulation results, the method is universal and could be extended easily to the path planning problem for different kinds of formation reconfigurations.

文摘A coalition formation algorithm is presented with limited communication ranges and delays in unknown environment, for the performance of multiple heterogeneous unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)in cooperative search and attack missions. The mathematic model of coalition formation is built on basis of the minimum attacking time and the minimum coalition size with satisfying resources and simultaneous strikes requirements.A communication protocol based on maximum number of hops is developed to determine the potential coalition members in dynamic network.A multistage sub-optimal coalition formation algorithm(MSOCFA)with polynomial time is established. The performances of MSOCFA and particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithms are compared in terms of complexity, mission performance and computational time.A complex scenario is deployed to illustrate how the coalitions are formed and validate the feasibility of the MSOCFA.The effect of communication constraints(hop delay and max-hops)on mission performance is studied. The results show that it is beneficial to determine potential coalition members in a wide and deep range over the network in the presence of less delay. However, when the delays are significant,it is more advantageous to determine coalitions from among the immediate neighbors.
文摘The formation maintenance of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)based on proximity behavior is explored in this study.Individual decision-making is conducted according to the expected UAV formation structure and the position, velocity, and attitude information of other UAVs in the azimuth area. This resolves problems wherein nodes are necessarily strongly connected and communication is strictly consistent under the traditional distributed formation control method. An adaptive distributed formation flight strategy is established for multiple UAVs by exploiting proximity behavior observations, which remedies the poor flexibility in distributed formation. This technique ensures consistent position and attitude among UAVs.In the proposed method, the azimuth area relative to the UAV itself is established to capture the state information of proximal UAVs.The dependency degree factor is introduced to state update equation based on proximity behavior. Finally, the formation position, speed, and attitude errors are used to form an adaptive dynamic adjustment strategy.Simulations are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the theoretical results, thus validating the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘The new method which uses the consensus algorithm to solve the coordinate control problems of multiple unmanned underwater vehicles (multi-UUVs) formation in the case of leader-following is adapted. Finally, the simulation results are presented to confirm and illustrate the theoretical results.

文摘This paper focuses on the solution to the dynamic affine formation control problem for multiple networked underactuated quad-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)to achieve a configuration that preserves collinearity and ratios of distances for a target configuration. In particular,it is investigated that the quad-rotor UAVs are steered to track a reference linear velocity while maintaining a desired three-dimensional target formation.Firstly,by integrating the properties of the affine transformation and the stress matrix, the design of the target formation is convenient and applicable for various three-dimensional geometric patterns.Secondly,a distributed control method is proposed under a hierarchical framework.By introducing an intermediary control input for each quad-rotor UAV in the position loop, the necessary thrust input and the desired attitude are extracted. In the attitude loop, the desired attitude represented by the unit quaternion is tracked by the designed torque input. Both conditions of linear velocity unavailability and mutual collision avoidance are also tackled. In terms of Lyapunov theory,it is prooved that the overall closed-loop error system is asymptotically stable. Finally, two illustrative examples are simulated to validate the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results.

文摘This paper considers the formation control problem for a group of unmanned aerial vehicles( UAVs)employing consensus with different optimizers. Finally,a series of comparative simulations were conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.
