Implementing a new energy-saving electrochemical synthesis system with high commercial value is a strategy of the sustainable development for upgrading the bulk chemicals preparation technology in the future. Here,we report a multiple redox-mediated linear paired electrolysis system, combining the hydrogen peroxide mediated cathode process with the I2 mediated anode process, and realize the conversion of furfural to furoic acid in both side of the dividedflow cell simultaneously.By reasonably controlling the cathode potential, the undesired water splitting reaction and furfural reduction side reactions are avoided.Under the galvanostatic electrolysis, the two-mediated electrode processes have good compatibility, which reduce the energy consumption by about 22%while improving the electronic efficiency by about 125%.This system provides a green electrochemical synthesis route with commercial prospects. 展开更多

Social-Emotional Competency(SEC),regarded as a critical psychological resource for individuals to adapt to social environments,is an effective protective factor for students’mental health, impacting their future success and well-being.Analyzing the impact of SEC on university students’mental health can offer valuable insights for nurturing talents with healthy psychological and physical development.Based on data from two large-scale surveys of Chinese university students, this study designed two comprehensive Multiple Mediation Models involving SEC,stress, coping strategies, and stress reaction to explore the pathway of emotion nurturing mentality.Study 1 utilized a parallel mediation model to examine the relationships between SEC,academic stress, interpersonal stress, and stress reactions. The results indicated that SEC negatively predicted academic stress, interpersonal stress, and stress reactions.Additionally, academic and interpersonal stress mediated the relationships between SEC and stress reactions in parallel.Extending these findings,Study 2 further investigated the role of coping strategies.By constructing a multiple-chain mediation model,it examined the predictive relationships among SEC,academic stress, interpersonal stress, three types of coping strategies, and stress reactions. The findings indicated that SEC negatively predicted stress, problemavoiding strategy, and stress reactions, while positively predicting problem-solving and assistant-seeking strategies.Furthermore, the two stress types and three coping strategies significantly mediated the relationship between SEC and stress reactions. This indicated that higher SEC was associated with reduced stress and more adaptive coping strategies and subsequently contributed to more favorable stress reactions. This research explored the impact of university students’SEC on mental health and its relational mechanisms, aiming to provide theoretical reference and practical insights for future efforts in cultivating SEC among university students to adjust academic and interpersonal stress,to enhance problem-solving and stress resistance capabilities, and to maintain their mental health. 展开更多

Background:In the current social environment, scarcity,as a universally present objective state, profoundly impacts individuals’decision-making and health through the subjective feeling it induces, known as a“scarcity mindset.”Particularly, the feeling of scarcity related to money and sleep time is not only widespread but also directly linked to an individual’s mental health.Purpose:This study aims to delve into the relationship between the feeling of scarcity and mental health, with a specific focus on the relationship between the feeling of money scarcity or sleep time scarcity and mental health,as well as the role of sleep quality or life satisfaction in this relationship.Procedure:We determined the sampling quotas based on the population and economic development levels of each province in the“China Statistical Yearbook(2021)”(National Bureau of Statistics,2021).Participants were selected using the Probability Proportional to Size(PPS)sampling method.Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires to participants, and the relationships between the main variables were explored using structural equation modeling.Results:1.In China, the feeling of sleep time scarcity is stronger than the feeling of money scarcity among the public.2.The feeling of money scarcity is positively correlated with depression and anxiety, whereas the feeling of sleep time scarcity is only positively correlated with depression.3.The feeling of scarcity mainly leads to depression and self-denial through reducing life satisfaction, and it leads to anxiety through reducing sleep quality. Conclusion:The feeling of scarcity in money and sleep time is related to different dimensions of mental health. Therefore, reasonably planning financial allocation and ensuring an adequate amount of sleep can reduce the sense of scarcity, thereby improving mental health.Additionally, improving sleep quality and increasing life satisfaction can alleviate the adverse effects of scarcity on mental health. 展开更多

In the context of global carbon neutrality, new energy vehicle promotion(NEVP)has become an important means of reducing carbon emissions. This paper constructs a theoretical model and uses panel data on NEVP in 21 countries from 2012 to 2018 to empirically examine the green effect of NEVP.The results indicate the following:(1)NEVP significantly reduces greenhouse gases emissions, and the green effect can be transmitted and diffused through a direct path.(2)Replacing fuel-fired vehicles and accelerating the end-of-life vehicle scrapping process significantly conducted the green effect, and aggravating traffic congestion was not statistically significant.(3)The transmission mechanism of the green effect is regulated by regional economic heterogeneity. In regions with better development of fuel-fired vehicles, the transmission of the green effect is subject to the elimination of fuel-fired vehicles and traffic congestion governance, and the transmission efficiency is low. However, regions with a relatively weak fuel-fired automobile industry foundation show a strong“advantage of backwardness”,and the green effect is more prominent. This means that global NEVP should be further accelerated to achieve the green effect and the goal of global carbon neutrality. 展开更多
