Potential impact of music interventions in managing diabetic conditions

Diabetes is one of the most prevalent diseases,characterized by an insufficiency in insulin secretion as well as chronic hyperglycemia and disturbances in carbohydrate,lipid,and protein metabolism.The major aim of this study was to conduct a literature review on the impact of music intervention on the management of diabetic conditions among patients.Available studies on the impact of music interventions on the management of diabetic conditions were reviewed and analysed using descriptive literature review approach.This review showed that music intervention plays a dual role in managing patients'diabetic conditions.First,music intervention is impactful in managing the health condition of diabetic patients through enhancing the patient’s compliance with exercise,improving lower limb blood circulation,and enhancing health parameters that increase autonomous balance among diabetic patients.Second,music therapy is impactful in the management of diabetic conditions through lowering blood sugar,heart rate,glucose levels,and stress among patients.However,with the number of empirical studies available in this regard,the impact of music intervention is still growing,and longer-term studies and randomised controlled trials with robust sample size are recommended to reach a more valid conclusion.

Report quality assessment for systematic reviews of music intervention in Alzheimer’s Disease

Aims:The purpose of this study is to assess the report quality for systematic reviews of music intervention in Alzheimer’s Disease,and reveal their compliance with PRISMA,to facilitate evidence transformation.Method:We searched Web of Science,PubMed,Cochrane Library,and Embase databases to collect systematic reviews and metaanalyses of music intervention for Alzheimer’s Disease.The PRISMA was used to assess their report quality.Furthermore,the compliance with each PRISMA item was explored.Compliance with PRISMA above 70%was considered adequately reported.Results:A total of 18 articles were included in this study.Of them,11 articles had compliance with PRISMA greater than 70%.Furthermore,of the 27 PRISMA items,14 had more than 70%compliance with PRISMA.Conclusion:The overall report quality for systematic reviews of music intervention in Alzheimer’s Disease was good.However,the compliance with each PRISMA item,such as“structured summary”and“protocol and registration”,could be further improved.

Aromatic Essential Oil Acupressure Combined with Music Therapy in Cancer Pain Management

Objective: To explore the effect of aroma oil acupressure combined with music therapy in pain intervention for tumor patients. Methods: 60 patients with malignant tumors accompanied by cancer pain who were hospitalized in the oncology department of a tertiary-level hospital in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, from January 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into 30 cases in the control group and 30 cases in the intervention group according to the stratified sampling method. The control group was divided into 30 cases of control group and 30 cases of intervention group according to the stratified sampling method. The control group was given medicine according to the conventional step analgesia, and the intervention group was given medicine according to the conventional step analgesia with the addition of aromatic oil acupressure combined with music therapy, and the effect of the intervention was valued by the NRS, the SAS and the SDS. Results: The NRS, SAS and SDS of patients in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (p Conclusion: Aromatic oil acupressure combined with music therapy can effectively improve the pain symptoms of tumor patients, relieve anxiety and improve the quality of sleep of patients. Combined with pharmacological methods of pain relief, it can reduce the dose of pain medication and the frequency of administration of medication, and find a safe, low-cost, non-pharmacological pain complementary alternative therapy for tumor patients with cancer pain.
