Mean RA septal and lateral strain and strain rate were significantly reduced in the AF group compared to the control group (-5.9% ± 6.1% vs. -23.4% ± 4.5%, -8.9% ± 9.3% vs. -21.7% ± 3.4%) and (-0.98 ± 0.6 S<sup>-1</sup> vs. -1.9 ± 0.3 S<sup>-1</sup>, -1.3 ± 0.9 S<sup>-1</sup> vs. -2.1 ± 0.5 S<sup>-1</sup>) respectively.
