To generate a static magnetic field, direct current is applied to a circular coil located at the top of the chamber. By adjusting the magnetic field's configuration, which is done by altering the coil current and position, both the plasma uniformity and density can be significantly modulated. In the absence of the magnetic field, the plasma density exhibits an inhomogeneous distribution characterized by higher values at the plasma edge and lower values at the center. The introduction of a magnetic field generated by coils results in a significant increase in electron density near the coils. Furthermore, an increase in the sets of coils improves the uniformity of the plasma. By flexibly adjusting the positions of the coils and the applied current,a substantial enhancement in overall uniformity can be achieved. These findings demonstrate the feasibility of using this method for achieving uniform plasma densities in industrial applications.展开更多

The concept of virtual position-offset injection is mathematically transforming the machine model to a virtual frame with a position-offset. The virtual frame temperature estimation model is derived to calculate the permanent magnet temperature(PMT) directly from the measurements with computation efficiency. The estimation model involves a combined inductance term, which can simplify the establishment of saturation compensation model with less measurements. Moreover, resistance and inverter distorted terms are cancelled in the estimation model, which can improve the robustness to the winding temperature rise and inverter distortion. The proposed approach can achieve simplified computation in temperature estimation and reduced memory usage in saturation compensation. While existing model-based approaches could be affected by either the need of resistance and inverter information or complex saturation compensation. Experiments are conducted on the test machine to verify the proposed approach under various operating conditions.展开更多

文摘Recent experimental findings have demonstrated the occurrence of superconductivity in Bernal bilayer graphene when induced by a magnetic field. In this study,we conduct a theoretical investigation of the potential pairing symmetry within this superconducting system.By developing a theoretical model,we primarily calculate the free energy of the system with p+ip-wave parallel spin pairing,p+ip-wave anti-parallel spin pairing and d+i d-wave pairing symmetry. Our results confirm that the magnetic field is indeed essential for generating the superconductivity. We discover that the p+ip-wave parallel spin pairing leads to a lower free energy for the system. The numerical calculations of the energy band structure,zero-energy spectral function and density of states for each of the three pairing symmetries under consideration show a strong consistency with the free energy results.

文摘The magnetization reduction of hematite using biomass waste can effectively utilize waste and reduce CO_(2) emission to achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. The effects of temperatures on suspension magnetization roasting of hematite using biomass waste for evolved gases have been investigated using TG-FTIR,Py-GC/MS and gas composition analyzer. The mixture reduction process is divided into four stages. In the temperature range of 200-450℃ for mixture, the release of CO_(2),acids,and ketones is dominated in gases products. The yield and concentration of small molecules reducing gases increase when the temperature increases from 450 to 900℃.At 700℃,the volume concentrations of CO,H_(2) and CH_(4) peak at 8.91%,8.90% and 4.91%,respectively.During the suspension magnetization roasting process,an optimal iron concentrate with an iron grade of 70.86%,a recovery of 98.66% and a magnetic conversion of 45.70% is obtained at 700℃.Therefore,the magnetization reduction could react greatly in the temperature range of 600 to 700℃ owing to the suitable reducing gases. This study shows a detail gaseous evolution of roasting temperature and provides a new insight for studying the reduction process of hematite using biomass waste.

文摘The measurement of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)porosity is affected by temperature.Without considering the impact of NMR logging tools, this phenomenon is mainly caused by variations in magnetization intensity of the measured system due to temperature fluctuations and difference between the temperature of the porous medium and calibration sample. In this study, the effect of temperature was explained based on the thermodynamic theory, and the rules of NMR porosity responses to temperature changes were identified through core physics experiments. In addition,a method for correcting the influence of temperature on NMR porosity measurement was proposed, and the possible factors that may affect its application were also discussed.
文摘The thermal behavior of an electrically non-conducting magnetic liquid flowing over a stretching cylinder under the influence of a magnetic dipole is considered. The governing nonlinear differential equations are solved numerically using a finite element approach, which is properly validated through comparison with earlier results available in the literature. The results for the velocity and temperature fields are provided for different values of the Reynolds number, ferromagnetic response number,Prandtl number, and viscous dissipation parameter. The influence of some physical parameters on skin friction and heat transfer on the walls of the cylinder is also investigated. The applicability of this research to heat control in electronic devices is discussed to a certain extent.

文摘This paper proposes a virtual position-offset injection based permanent magnet temperature estimation approach for permanent magnet synchronous machines(PMSMs). Experiments are conducted on the test machine to verify the proposed approach under various operating conditions.

文摘The ability to navigate long distances is essential for many animals to locate shelter, food, and breeding grounds.Magnetic sense has evolved in various migratory and homing species to orient them based on the geomagnetic field.A highly conserved ironsulfur cluster assembly protein IscA is proposed as an animal magnetoreceptor(MagR).Iron-sulfur cluster binding is also suggested to play an essential role in MagR magnetism and is thus critical in animal magnetoreception. In the current study,we provide evidence for distinct iron binding and iron-sulfur cluster binding in MagR in pigeons,an avian species that relies on the geomagnetic field for navigation and homing.Pigeon MagR showed significantly higher total iron content from both iron-and ironsulfur binding.Y65 in pigeon MagR was shown to directly mediate mononuclear iron binding, and its mutation abolished iron-binding capacity of the protein.Surprisingly, both iron binding and iron-sulfur binding demonstrated synergistic effects, and thus appear to be integral and indispensable to pigeon MagR magnetism. These results not only extend our current understanding of the origin and complexity of MagR magnetism, but also imply a possible molecular explanation for the huge diversity in animal magnetoreception.

文摘The Shanghai high-repetition-rate X-ray free-electron laser and extreme light facility(SHINE)operates at a maximum repetition rate of 1 MHz.Kicker magnets are key components that distribute electron bunches into three different undulator lines in a bunch-by-bunch mode. The kicker field width must be less than the time interval between bunches.A lumpedinductance kicker prototype was developed using a vacuum chamber with a single-turn coil. The full magnetic field strength was 0.005 T.This paper presents the requirements, design considerations, design parameters, magnetic field calculations, and measurements of the kicker magnets. The relevant experimental results are also presented. The pulse width of the magnetic field was approximately 600 ns,and the maximum operation repetition rate was 1 MHz.The developed kicker satisfies the requirements for the SHINE project. Finally, numerous recommendations for the future optimization of kicker magnets are provided.
文摘Artificial intelligence(AI),particularly machine learning(ML)and deep learning(DL)techniques, such as convolutional neural networks(CNNs),have emerged as transformative technologies with vast potential in healthcare.Body iron load is usually assessed using slightly invasive blood tests(serum ferritin, serum iron, and serum transferrin).Serum ferritin is widely used to assess body iron and drive medical management;however,it is an acute phase reactant protein offering wrong interpretation in the setting of inflammation and distressed patients.Magnetic resonance imaging is a non-invasive technique that can be used to assess liver iron. The ML and DL algorithms can be used to enhance the detection of minor changes. However,a lack of open-access datasets may delay the advancement of medical research in this field. In this letter,we highlight the importance of standardized datasets for advancing AI and CNNs in medical imaging.Despite the current limitations, embracing AI and CNNs holds promise in revolutionizing disease diagnosis and treatment.
文摘BACKGROUND Breast conservation surgery(BCS)with adjuvant radiotherapy has become a gold standard in the treatment of early-stage breast cancer, significantly reducing the risk of tumor recurrence. However, this treatment is associated with adverse effects, including the rare but aggressive radiation-induced angiosarcoma(RIAS).Despite its rarity and nonspecific initial presentation,RIAS presents a challenging diagnosis, emphasizing the importance of imaging techniques for early detection and accurate diagnosis.CASE SUMMARY We present a case of a 48-year-old post-menopausal woman who developed skin ecchymosis on the right breast seven years after receiving BCS and adjuvant radiotherapy for breast cancer.Initial mammography and ultrasound were inconclusive, showing post-treatment changes but failing to identify the underlying angiosarcoma.Contrast-enhanced breast magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)revealed diffuse skin thickening and nodularity with distinctive enhan-cement kinetics, leading to the diagnosis of RIAS.This case highlights the crucial role of MRI in diagnosing and determining the extent of RIAS,facilitating timely and appropriate surgical intervention.CONCLUSION Breast MRI is crucial for detecting RIAS,especially when mammography and ultrasound are inconclusive.

文摘The development of superconducting joining technology for reacted magnesium diboride(MgB_(2))conductors remains a critical challenge for the advancement of cryogen-free MgB_(2)-based magnets for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Herein, the fabrication of superconducting joints using reacted carbon-doped multifilament MgB_(2)wires for MRI magnets is reported. To achieve successful superconducting joints, the powder-in-mold method was employed, which involved tuning the filament protection mechanism, the powder compaction pressure, and the heat treatment condition. The fabricated joints demonstrated clear superconducting-to-normal transitions in self-field,with effective magnetic field screening up to 0.5 T at 20 K.To evaluate the interface between one of the MgB_(2)filaments and the MgB_(2)bulk within the joint, serial sectioning was conducted for the first time in this type of superconducting joint. The serial sectioning revealed space formation at the interface, potentially caused by the volume shrinkage associated with the MgB_(2)formation or the combined effect of the volume shrinkage and the different thermal expansion coefficients of the MgB_(2)bulk,the filament, the mold, and the sealing material. These findings are expected to be pivotal in developing MgB_(2)superconducting joining technology for MRI magnet applications through interface engineering.

文摘Light-induced ultrafast spin dynamics in materials is of great importance for developments of spintronics and magnetic storage technology.Recent progresses include ultrafast demagnetization, magnetic switching, and magnetic phase transitions, while the ultrafast generation of magnetism is hardly achieved. Here,a strong lightinduced magnetization(up to 0.86μBper formula unit)is identified in non-magnetic monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)).With the state-of-the-art time-dependent density functional theory simulations,we demonstrate that the out-of-plane magnetization can be induced by circularly polarized laser, where chiral phonons play a vital role. The phonons strongly modulate spin-orbital interactions and promote electronic transitions between the two conduction band states, achieving an effective magnetic field~380 T.Our study provides important insights into the ultrafast magnetization and spin-phonon coupling dynamics, facilitating effective light-controlled valleytronics and magnetism.
