The influences of dose rate and initial NB concentration were investigated in details. At a dose rate of 55 Gy/min, the degradation kinetics was pseudo first order at NB concentrations from 0 2 mmol/L to 4 0 mmol/L. At an initial NB concentration of 0 8 mmol/L, the degradation of NB at various dose rates also followed pseudo first order kinetics. Dissolved oxygen was found to have a positive effect on NB degradation. The degradation products were identified as nitrophenol, nitrosobenzene, and hydroquinone, and so on. Based on the product analysis, possible degradation pathways of nitrobenzene were proposed.展开更多
In this work, Automated Ball Indentation (ABI) technique is based on load controlled multiple indentations (at a single penetration location) of a polished surface by a spherical indenter (0.7 to 1.46 mm) and indentat...In this work, Automated Ball Indentation (ABI) technique is based on load controlled multiple indentations (at a single penetration location) of a polished surface by a spherical indenter (0.7 to 1.46 mm) and indentation depth is progressively increased to a maximum user specified limit with intermediate partial unloading. This technique permits measurement of yield strength, stress-strain curve, strength coefficient and strain hardening exponent. ABI Testing was carried out on samples of Zr-Nb2.5 (Pressure Tube Material) with different heat treatment conditions in which temperature was varying (550 degree to 900 degree and retention time was varying 0.5 to 6 hour and furnace cooled. For all these test material and conditions, the ABI derived results were in very good agreement with those from conventional standard test methods.展开更多

But the burning of this fossil fuel is also a major source of air pollution. Thus it is quite obvious that an accurate knowledge of the elements, including the trace ones. of coal is important. But to secure such a knowledge, reliable determination techniques are needed. To test the accuracy of analytical methods and quality control for the determination of the composition of coal and flyash, there is an obvious need for some environmental standard reference materials. Recently the U.S. National Bureau of Standards has announced such a material, coal (SRM-1632a).展开更多
