Using dynamic light scattering(DLS) test method, the influences of water content on the size of liquid drop of microemulsion and the liquid drop of microemulsion on the final diameter of nanometer particle were studied in the course of preparation. Accordingly, the method to control the diameter of nanometer particle by changing water content was established. The nanometer cobalt blue particles were confirmed by XRD and TEM. Color parameters of pigments were determined. The quantum size effect of the pigments was discussed.展开更多

The wear resistance and load carrying capacity of 500SN base oil could be improved and the friction coefficient could be decreased by the addition of nanometer samarium borate. But the dosage of samarium borate nanoparticles had to be controlled at a relatively low level, a higher concentration of nanoparticles was not of beneficial to the tribological performance of the oil. The optimal dosage of nanometer samarium borate is 1.0%. Tribochemical reactions took place in the tribological process, which resulted in the formation of deposition products including diboron trioxide and disamarium trioxide. Fe 2B and FeB were also found on the wear scar. The improvement of tribological properties of the oil comes from the formation of deposition layer and permeating layer. [展开更多

The result shows that nanometer yellow iron oxide is spindle-shaped and well-distributed with a long axis of 150-200 nm and short axis of 40-50 nm. Ultraviolet (UV) transmittance of the iron oxide shows the great effect of concentration on both transparency and UV ab- sorption, and it has been proven that iron oxide with a concentration of 0.025wt% is preferred. The spectrum of XRD indicates that it is goethite. When the yellow iron is dispersed in sol, given that the wavelength of UV is less than 300 nm, its UV absorption capacity is superior to those of ZnO and TiO2. The absorption capacity of the yellow iron is less than TiO2 and more than ZnO as the wavelength of UV is 300-400 nm.展开更多

It was seen that precipitates in Ti microalloyed steels mainly included TiN, Ti4C2S2, and TiC. The size of TiN particles varied from 50 to 500 nm, and they could precipitate during or before soaking. The Ti4C2S2 with the size of 40-100 nm might precipitate before rolling, and the TiC particles with the size of 5-50 nm precipitated heterogeneously. High Ti content would lead to the presence of bigger TiC particles that precipitated in austenite, and by contrast, TiC particles that precipitated in ferrite and the transformation of austenite to ferrite was smaller. They were less than 30 nm and mainly responsible for precipitate strengthening. It should be noted that the TiC particles in higher Ti content were generally smaller than those in the steel with a lower Ti content.展开更多

The results indicate that most BC aerosols are spherical particles of about 50 nm in diameter and with a homogeneous surface. Results also show that these particles aggregate with other aerosols or with themselves to form larger agglomerates in the micrometer range. The shape of these 50-nm BC spherical particles was found to be very similar to that of BC particles released from petroleum-powered vehicular internal combustion engines. These spherical BC particles were shown to be different from the previously reported fullerenes found using Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS).展开更多
