These composites were used as sheath material for the fabrication of core-sheath fibers. During the melt spinning process, a magnetic field was applied around the roving, whereby the particles move in the still liquid sheath polymer towards the surface. The produced fiber materials were investigated by AFM showing a nanostructuring of the surface, which was indirectly confirmed by determination of a slight surface tension lowering. Nanoparticle movement was shown by cross-section SEM and EDX measurements. The antibacterial activity of the spun fibers was proven by contacting them with Escherichia coli. A long-term stability of this effect was observable by carrying out a standard washability test. In contrast to previous works this new approach uses no deposition technique to introduce surface changes. It rather applies a magnetic force to move appropriately equipped nanoparticles from the inside of the fiber to the surface. This leads in only one step to a strong superficial anchoring of the particles resulting in a unique combination of long-term stable antibacterial and improved anti-soiling effects.展开更多

We concentrate on a multilayer design with periodic boundary condition, where alternating soft/hard layers build a nanostructured multilayer. For any easy axis direction in the soft and hard layers a simple explicit expression of remanence of the system has been derived analytically. We find that the remanence clearly depends on the thickness of the soft magnetic layer and is nearly independent of the thickness of hard magnetic layer. On the other hand, the remanence increases upon reducing the angle enclosed by the saturation magnetization and the easy axis directions of soft magnetic layer. However, it is unsensitive to the easy axis direction of hard magnetic layer, but there exists a maximum remanence for a certain easy axis direction of hard magnetic layer.展开更多

Surprisingly, it is found that a polarization can be achieved by spin-dependent resonant tunnelling in this structure, although the average magnetic field of the structure is zero.展开更多

We tuned the terrace width of Si(111) substrate by a novel method: varying the direction of heating current and consequently manipulating the magnetic anisotropy of magnetic structures on the stepped substrate by decorating its atomic steps. Laser-induced ultrafast demagnetization of a Co FeB/MgO/CoFeB magnetic tunneling junction was explored by the time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect(TRMOKE) for both the parallel state(P state) and the antiparallel state(AP state) of the magnetizations between two magnetic layers. It was observed that the demagnetization time is shorter and the magnitude of demagnetization is larger in the AP state than those in the P state. These behaviors are attributed to the ultrafast spin transfer between two CoFeB layers via the tunneling of hot electrons through the MgO barrier. Our observation indicates that ultrafast demagnetization can be engineered by the hot electron tunneling current. This opens the door to manipulate the ultrafast spin current in magnetic tunneling junctions. Furthermore, an all-optical TR-MOKE technique provides the flexibility for exploring the nonlinear magnetization dynamics in ferromagnetic materials, especially with metallic materials.展开更多

The prepared Fe@C-CNx hybrid nanoparticles were found to possess multifunctionality by exhibiting strong superparamagnetic properties and bright fluorescence emissions at 500 nm after the excitation with light in the UV-visible range. Fe@C-CNx also exhibits photocatalytic activities for organic dye degradation comparable to pure amorphous CNx with reusability through magnetic separation. The combination of magnetic and fluorescent properties of core-shell Fe@C-CNx nanoparticles opens opportunities for their application as sensors and magnet manipulated reusable photocatalysts. Superparamagnetic Fe@C core-shell nanoparticles were used as the template material in the synthesis, where the carbon shell was functionalized through one-step free-radical addition of alkyl groups terminated with carboxylic acid moieties. The method utilizes the organic acyl peroxide of dicarboxylic acid (succinic acid peroxide) as a non-oxidant functional free radical precursor for functionalization. A detailed physicochemical characterization of the microstructure, magnetic and fluorescence properties of the synthesized hybrid nanoparticles is provided.展开更多

The sample was produced from nanocrystalline powders made by the mechanical alloying (MA) and consolidation using the spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. Effects of milling time on phase transformation, structural characteristics, and magnetic properties of powders were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and physical property measure system (PPMS), respectively. Results show that nanostructured α-Fe supersaturated solid solution is obtained in the final MAed products. The saturation magnetization (Ms) increased with increasing milling time and became constant at 130 h, but the coercivity (Hc) increased firstly and then decreased. The consolidated bulk sample exhibited a high density of 6.893 g·cm-3, there was no phase change during SPS process, and the saturation magnetization and susceptibility of the SPSed bulk sample improved in comparison with the milled powders. The variation of magnetic parameters can be explained by nano-scale effect and Herzer model.展开更多

Nanocrystalline phase was formed for 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.67 and a large grain phase for 0.75 ≤ x ≤ 0.9. The large fraction of graphite volume puts off formation of nanocrystalline phase for high carbon content. In the large grain phase, magnetization follows simple magnetic dilution, and eoereivity He is mainly due to dissolution of carbon at grain boundaries. In the nanocrystalline phase the alloying effect of carbon is revealed by a distinct reduction of average magnetic moment. The increasing lattice constant with increasing carbon content is observed for x ≤ 0.5, suggesting that the high carbon concentration may enhance diffusion of carbon into the Fe lattice. It shows a discontinuity in the Hc variation with a grain size D of nanocrystalline phase. For small grain D below the critical value, Hc increases with D. For a large grain D, Hc decreases with increasing D. The solubility limit of carbon in a-Fe extended by nanocry- stalline phase formation is discussed.展开更多

The structure, morphology, opto-magnetic and photocatalytic properties of the obtained powder were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, high resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS), photoluminescence (PL) spectra and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques. The XRD, FT-IR and EDX results indicate that the resultant powder is pure and single phase crystalline Bi2MoO6 with orthorhombic structure. The HRSEM image shows that the morphology of obtained powder consists with well defined nano-particles structure. The VSM results show superparamagnetic behavior of the obtained nano-particles. The photocatalytic activity of Bi2MoO6 nano-particles was performed. The addition of TiO2 catalyst enhances the photocatalytic activity of Bi2MoO6 nano-particles. The catalysts Bi2MoO6, TiO2 and mixed oxide catalyst Bi2MoO6-TiO2 nano-composites (NCs) were tested for the photocatalytic degradation (PCD) of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP). The variation of magnetic parameters can be explained by nano-scale effect and Herzer model.

文摘A hard/soft SmCo5/ Fe nanocomposite magnetic bilayer system is fabricated on x-ray transparent 100-200 nm thin SiaN4 films by magnetron sputtering. The microscopic magnetic domain pattern and its behaviours during magnetization reversal in the hard and the soft magnetic phases are studied separately by element specific magnetic soft x-ray microscopy at a spatial resolution of better than 25 Nm. We observe that the domain patterns for the soft and hard phases show coherent behaviours in varying magnetic fields. We derive local M(H) curves from the images of Fe and SmCo5 separately and find the switches for hard and soft phases to be the same.
文摘Supersaturated solid solutions Fe1-xCx (0≤x≤0.9 ) of wide composition range have been prepared by mechanical alloying process. The solubility limit of carbon in a-Fe extended by nanocry- stalline phase formation is discussed.
文摘Bismuth molybdate (Bi2MoO6) nano-particles (NPs) were synthesized using bismuth nitrate, ammonium molybdate, citric acid and ethyl cellulose by a simple sol-gel method. It is found that the PCD efficiency of Bi2MoO6-TiO2 NCs is higher than that of pure Bi2MoO6 and TiO2 catalysts.
