If any one of the following four conditions is present in some persons, i.e., (1) EBV VCA/IgA titer>1:80, (2) EBV EDAb>60%, (3) Dual or triple positiveness in VCA/IgA, EA/IgA and EDAb, (4) Any one of VCA/IgA, EA/IgA and EDAb keeps high titer or going up, they should be regarded as in precancerosis of NPC. The moderate or severe heteroplasia and heterometaplasia of nasopharyngeal mucosa are the precancerous lesions of NPC. Some individual who is in precancerosis or with precancerous lesion should be regarded as the high risk population of NPC. The results are of important scientific basis for screening and second degree prevention of NPC.展开更多

FVIIIR:Ag was used as a v...The stromal microvasculature in 27 cases of nasophacyngeal precancerous lesions (NPP) were studied for morphological features and parameter quantitation by computerized image analysis system. FVIIIR:Ag was used as a vascular endothelium marker to show the blood vessels by immunohistochemistry. The microscopic and quantitative results show that most cases(79%) had hyperplastic abnormal blood vessels similar to the stromal neovascularization of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). These findings suggest that angiogenesis may he a prerequisite to cancerous transformation of nasopharyngeal epithelium, and that cases of NPP with neovascularization have a high tendency to cancerous transformation.展开更多

Methods: Patients including 30 cases of nasopharyngitis, 42 cases of nasopharyngeal atypical hyperplasia and 34 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) were chosen from Zhongshan area in which there is high incidence rate of NPC. The expression of DNA-PKcs in the nasopharyngeal tissue was examined by immunohistochemistry. Results: The expression rates of DNA-PKcs in the nasopharyngitis tissue, the nasopharyngeal precancerous lesion and the NPC were 6.7%, 64.3% and 55.9%, respectively (P〈 0.001). Conclusion: The expression of DNA-dependent protein kinase may play an important role in nasopharyngeal tissue carcinogenesis.展开更多
