A fluid-structure interaction system subject to Sommerfeld's condition is defined as a Sommerfeld system which is divided into three categories: Fluid Sommerfeld (FS) System, Solid Sommerfeld (SS) System and Fluid Solid Sommerfeld (FSS) System of which Sommerfeld conditions are imposed on a fluid boundary only, a solid boundary only and both fluid and solid boundaries, respectively. This paper follows the previous initial results claimed by simple examples to further mathematically investigate the natural vibrations of generalized Sommerfeld systems. A new parameter representing the speed of radiation wave for generalized 3-D problems with more complicated boundary conditions is introduced into the Sommerfeld condition which allows investigation of the natural vibrations of a Sommerfeld system involving both free surface and compressible waves. The mathematical demonstrations and selected examples confirm and reveal the natural behaviour of generalized Sommerfeld systems defined above. These generalized conclusions can be used in theoretical or engineering analysis of the vibrations of various Sommerfeld systems in engineering. 展开更多

Background At present, the teaching of experiments in primary and secondary schools is affected by cost and security factors.Existing research on virtual experiment platforms has alleviated these problems. However, the lack of real experimental equipment and use of a single channel to understand user intentions weaken these platforms operationally and degrade the naturalness of interactions. Methods To solve these problems,we propose an intelligent experimental container structure and a situational awareness algorithm, both of which are verified and applied to a chemical experiment involving virtual-real fusion.First, the acquired images are denoised in the visual channel using the maximum diffuse reflection chroma to remove overexposure.Second, container situational awareness is realized by segmenting the image liquid level and establishing a relation-fitting model. Then, strategies for constructing complete behaviors and making priority comparisons among behaviors are adopted for information complementarity and independence, respectively.A multichannel intentional understanding model and an inter-active paradigm that integrates vision, hearing, and touch are proposed. Results The experimental results show that the accuracy of the intelligent container situation awareness proposed in this paper reaches 99%,and the accuracy of the proposed intention understanding algorithm reaches 94.7%.The test shows that the intelligent experimental system based on the new interaction paradigm also has better performance and a more realistic sense of operation experience in terms of experimental efficiency. Conclusion The results indicate that the proposed experimental container and algorithm can achieve a natural level of human-computer interaction in a virtual chemical experiment platform, enhance the user′s sense of operation, and achieve high levels of user satisfaction. 展开更多

This paper provides an overview of South Korea’s 20-year journey in adopting building information modeling(BIM) and future direction. It first discusses the six phases of BIM adoption in South Korea, starting from the use of BIM as a marketing tool to its current intelligent BIM phase. The government’s support for BIM-related research and development projects is also highlighted, with a focus on the artificail intelligence (AI)-based architectural design automation project. As the future direction, it explores the integration of AI with BIM in both local and global contexts. The paper presents AIpowered architectural design methods, including AI-powered early architectural design generation and architectural detailing.Compared to AI-based early architectural design generation, architectural detailing is an unexplored research topic. This paper introduces two AI-and BIM-based architectural detailing methods, being developed at Yonsei University:namely,BIM library transplant and Natural language-based Architectural Detailing through Interaction with AI (NADIA). These methods demonstrate how AI-enhanced BIM can enable architects to interactively develop building details using a language model as a conversational AI and a knowledge base, and a BIM authoring tool as a design platform, in the near future. 展开更多

Several patient groups, particularly those with chronic illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, hepatitis C,and HIV/AIDS,often supplement their pharmacotherapeutic regimens with botanical natural products(NPs),raising concern for adverse NP-drug interactions.Like drug-drug interactions, common mechanisms underlying pharmacokinetic NP-drug interactions include induction and inhibition of drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters, leading toaltered systemic drug concentrations and potentially, suboptimal therapeutic effects. However, unlike for drug-drug interactions, rigorous guidelines for assessing the risk of NP-drug interactions are non-existent.Establishing such guidelines for NP-drug interactions poses challenges beyond those for drug-drug interactions because NPs are inherently complex mixtures that vary substantially in phytochemical composition. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health created the Center of Excellence for Natural Product-Drug Interaction(Na PDI)Research in September,2015.The mission of the Na PDI Center is to provide leadership in the identification, evaluation, and dissemination of potential clinically significant pharmacokinetic NP-drug interactions.A key deliverable of the Center is a set of Recommended Approaches to guide researchers in the proper conduct of NP-drug interaction studies. These approaches will be based on results generated from a series of Interaction Projects that will examine four methodically selected NPs as precipitants of metabolism-and/or transporter-mediated interactions with clinically relevant object drugs.Three of these NPs-green tea, goldenseal, and cannabinoids-have been advanced to Interaction Projects that include human mechanistic in vitro studies,physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling and simulation, and clinical studies.Key data generated from the Interaction Projects are being entered into a data repository, which will be disseminated to researchers via a public access portal.Collectively, the efforts of the Na PDI Center should lead to improved design of future NP-drug interaction research and ultimately, improved decisions on the optimal management of clinically relevant interactions. 展开更多
