An Evaluation of New Horizon College English(Reading and Writing,Book Ⅰ, Second Edition)

This paper attempts to evaluate New Horizon College English(Reading and Writing,Book I, Second Edition) based on the textbook evaluation criteria by Hutchinson& Waters. The analyses proves that that it is fit for college students under the circumstances of so many newly published English teaching materials claimed to be excellent and helpful.However, teachers should be aware to take good advantage of the textbook and supplement the students with some necessary resources during teaching due to its limitations.

The Practice of ＂Flipped classroom＂ in the Reading and Writing Course of College English

The reform of college English should focus on the ways to improve the practicing ability. This ability should be based on the improvement of students, which is the fundamental aim of reform on the college English. In order to cope with this problem, ＂flipped classroom＂has many advantages. The Application of Genre- based Pedagogy in College English Reading and Writing Instruction

The genre-base pedagogy is based on genre and genre analysis theories. It provides a new direction to improve the teaching effect of College English reading and writing. This paper analyzes the notion of genre, highlights genre analysis and genre-based pedagogy for its advantages in language teaching, clearifies the relationship between reading and writing, and then presents a sample class which adopts genre-based pedagogy to textbook-based College English reading and writing instruction.

USING MULTIMEDIA AND NETWORK TECHNOLOGY TO REFORM COLLEGE ENGLISH TEACHING IN THE TEACHING OF NEW HORIZON COLLEGE ENGLISH

This paper explores the advantages of multimedia and network-based language teaching over traditional approaches and those of New Horizon College English over traditional textbooks and puts forward several suggestions on how to use multimedia and network technology to reform college English teaching in the teaching of New Horizon College English.

新文科视域下同伴反馈在医学生大学英语写作教学中的应用

目的:基于建构主义,探讨新文科视域下同伴反馈在医学生大学英语写作教学中的应用与作用。方法:选取温州医科大学仁济学院2020级口腔1、2班(n=60)和精神麻醉班(n=56),分别作为实验组和对照组。教师分别实施同伴反馈和传统策略,采用实验对照法,运用前后测量法评估学生写作主题“内容”、“组织结构”和“语言”三个维度的表现。对学生反思报告进行文本主题分析,对教师问卷进行数据和文本分析。结果:在实施同伴反馈后,实验组学生的后测写作成绩高于前测(t=4.882,P<0.001),也高于对照组后测成绩(t=3.432,P=0.001)。反思报告的主题分析表明学生逐步认可同伴反馈对其写作能力、语言技能以及医学人文素养的提升。问卷结果表明同伴反馈在提升学生语言技能、写作水平、人文素养及自主学习能力方面具有一定作用,问卷子维度的Pearson相关性分析结果表明同伴反馈有效实施影响因素之间具有相关性,即教师与环境(r=0.528,P=0.006)和评估策略(r=0.596,P=0.004)呈正相关,环境与评估策略呈正相关(r=0.712,P<0.001)。结论:同伴反馈对医学生的语言技能和医学人文素养有积极的中介作用,能促进医学生写作水平的提升。教师、环境与评估策略三因素对同伴反馈存在正向影响。

课程思政视域下的大学英语教学设计探研——以《新视野大学英语》教材为例

教学设计是做好大学英语课程思政工作的重要抓手,教学设计包括四个维度:目标、内容、方法和评价。文章以《新视野大学英语》教材为例,详细论述这四个维度。在大学英语课程思政教学目标设计上,除了要设定传统的知识目标和能力目标外,还要明确价值目标;在内容设计上,要基于教材而不囿于教材,选择既能实现知识目标和能力目标,又能实现价值目标的教学内容;在方法设计上,要循序渐进地组织教学内容,并开展混合式教学,使知识传授、能力培养和价值塑造三者融为一体;在评价设计上,要把思政评价整合到语言学习评价中。

基于iWrite写作软件的大学英语读后续写教学研究

本研究基于现代信息技术写作评价工具iWrite,结合读后续写模块,同时进行“网络反馈和教师反馈相结合”的英语写作教学,通过融入多元化的英语写作教学模式,对比不同英语水平学生读后续写的教学效果,探索如何在不同水平英语学习者中有效实施读后续写教学,为读后续写实证研究提供新的探索视角和探索模式。

系统功能语法视角下教育语篇生态话语分析——以《新视野大学英语读写教程》为例

生态话语分析通过揭示话语背后所隐藏的违背一定生态伦理的意识形态,从而唤醒人们生态保护意识,达到保护自然生态的目的。课题组以“多元共生、和谐共进”的生态哲学观为指导,以系统功能语法经验系统及物分析法与作格分析法为理论基础,构建生态话语分析理论框架,并运用该理论对教育语篇《新视野大学英语读写教程1—4级》中生态语篇进行生态话语分析,以揭示该教育语篇所蕴含的生态意义,并指导当下大学英语教学中的生态教学实践。

试论系统功能语法视角下生态话语分析模式构建——以《新视野大学英语读写教程》为例

生态话语分析注重研究语言对自然生态环境的影响及其作用。近年来,基于系统功能语法视角的生态话语分析越来越多,然而以往多数研究针对及物过程参与者角色的分析还不够深入,忽视了小句过程语义表征的复杂性。因此,该文以系统功能语法为指导,综合利用经验意义系统中及物分析模式与作格分析模式,建立起及物—作格综合分析模式,进而在“多元共生,和谐共进”的生态哲学观指导下,结合过程语义分析,建立系统功能语法视角下的生态话语分析综合模式。最后以《新视野大学英语读写教程》两篇生态语篇为例对该模式进行实践应用,以检验该分析模式的合理性和实操性,并揭示各生态语篇所含的生态意义。
