New Approach to Find Initial Basic Feasible Solution (IBFS) for Optimal Solution in Transportation Problem

Minimizing transportation time and getting optimal solutions are always considered as important factors while solving transportation problem. This paper shows a new approach for finding initial basic solution for transportation problem which reduces cost of transportation more than any transportation method such as LCM, northwest, Vogel’s approximation and so on. This method has been illustrated by taking an example;afterwards, it compares basic initial feasible solution with other methods IBF and optimal dictate solutions such as MODI and Steppingstone method.

On Answering the Question Related to the Legal Regulation of Working Hours in the New Era:Western Experience and Chinese Approach

The popularity of flexible working hours around the world has slowed down the historical trend of reducing working hours.It even shows signs of regression.Whether and how to guide the cur-rent society with flexible working hours to return to the historical track of reducing working hours,improve the quality of working hours,and promote a smooth transition from the era of traditional standard work-ing hours to the era of flexible working hours has become a question related to the legal regulation of working hours in the new era.In this regard,although Western countries have proposed new regulatory concepts and carried out legislative practices with distinctive charac-teristics,the limitations of legal regulation capabilities have prevented them from proposing a package of institutional solutions.The advan-tage of China in the ability of legal regulation of working hours has been gradually formed in the legislation on working hours unnder the leadership of the CPC in the past century.It enables China to break through the limitations of the West and propose a Chinese approach to answer the question of the legal regulation of working hours in the new era from three aspects:limiting the extension of working hours,improving the quality of flexible working hours,and optimizing the funnctions of the multi-funnctional regulatory system for working hours.

New approaches to gastric cancer staging:Beyond endoscopic ultrasound,computed tomography and positron emission tomography

Currently,there is no single gold standard modality for staging of gastric cancer and several methods have been used complementarily in the each clinical situation. To make up for the shortcomings of conventional modalities such as endoscopic ultrasound,computed tomography and 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography,numerous attempts with new approaches have been made for gastric cancer staging. For T staging,magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band was evaluated to differentiate mucosal cancer from submucosal cancer. Single/double contrast-enhanced ultrasound and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging were also tried to improve diagnostic accuracy of gastric cancer. For intraoperative staging with sentinel node mapping,indocyanine green infrared and fluorescence imaging was introduced. In addition,to detect micrometastasis,real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction system with multiple markers was studied.Staging laparoscopy using 5-aminolevulinic acid-mediated photodynamic diagnosis and percutaneous diagnostic peritoneal lavage were also evaluated.However,most studies reporting new staging methods is preliminary and further studies for validation in clinical practice are needed.In this mini-review,we discuss new progress in gastric cancer staging.Especially,we focus on new diagnostic approach to gastric cancer staging beyond the conventional modalities and briefly review the remarkable clinical results of the studies published over the past three years.

Application of vertically integrated sampling approach to study of new production via ^(234)Th -^(238)U disequilibria

The spatial and temporal distributions of new production vary largely in different sea areas. To understand the level of new production in the sea area studied better, an estimate of new production must be obtained in large spatial and temporal scales. The ~234Th/ ~238U disequilibrium is an effective method for the study of new production. Two sampling strategies, vertically integrated sampling ap proach based on trapezoidal integration principle and discrete layer sampling approach, were compared in the studies of the xiamen Bay and the northern South China Sea. The scavenging fluxes and removal fluxes of ~234Th and the residence times for dissolved and particulate ~234Th were calculated. The coinci dent results from two Sampling approach suggest that vertically integrated sampling approach is not only effective and reliable, but also significantly reduces the number and volume of samples. It allows us to study new production by ba ^(234)Th - ^(238)U disequilibria in large spatial scale.

Advantage of NMR and FTIR Spectroscopy to Determine Structure Role of CeO₂in Complicated Borosilicate Glasses: New Approach

Microstructure of complicated glasses in the system 30Na2O-2Al2O3-25 SiO2-xCeO2 (43-x) B2O3, x changes from 0.5 to 20 mol% have been extensively studied. Structural determination of glasses containing high cerium oxide content (≥8 mol% CeO2) was carried out by 11B NMR and FTIR spectroscopy. On the other hand, 29Si MAS NMR experiment is hardly to be applied to glasses of CeO2 > 8 mol%. This is due to the paramagnetic action which is raised by cerium cations causing dilution or delaying in the resonance phenomenon. It is evidenced from NMR data that sodium oxide is high enough to modify the glass forming units which constitute the skeleton of the glass. Ceria is as well as silica and B2O3 all are acting as glass forming species. Decreasing of both fraction of boron tetrahedral units (N4) and chemical shift of silicon nuclei (δ) confirm the role of CeO2 as a glass former. On the other hand, fast decrease in N4 and chemical shift of Si nuclei with further increasing CeO2 contents (≥8 mol%) gives a clear evidence that the ability of cerium oxide to participate as a network former increases with increasing its content. New approach is applied to determine the fraction of CeO4 as a glass forming units. In this approach, we use the common advantage of 11B NMR and FTIR spectroscopy to obtain Ce4 fraction. The latter species cannot be determined from NMR spectroscopy, since very high relaxation time and magnetization of ceria cause intensive spectral broadening which prevent resonance spectra to be appeared.

High Performance Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography-A New Approach to Separate Intermediates of Protein Folding──Ⅰ.Separation of Intermediates of Urea-unfolded α-Amylase

Based on the different hydrophobicities of the intermediates of proteins the various conformational intermediates of the refolding of a-amylase originally denatured with 8.0 mol/L urea solution were separated with high performance hydrophobic interaction chromatography(HPHIC). Compared to the separation of the same intermediates with weak anion exchange chromatography and size-exclusion chromatography the result obtained with HPHIC is the best It would be expected that HPHIC may be a strongly potential tool to separate intermediates of some proteins which cannot be, or cannot completely be refolded by HPHIC.

Description of two new species of Pseudoaliinostoc(Nostocales,Cyanobacteria)from China based on the polyphasic approach

Two cyanobacterial strains CHAB5870 and CHAB5871 morphologically identifi ed as Nostoc-like species were isolated from different habitats in China,and they were phylogenetically and taxonomically characterized based on a polyphasic approach combining morphological,ecological,and molecular data.In the 16S rRNA gene phylogeny inferred using maximum likelihood,maximum-parismony,and bayesian inference methods,these two strains clustered within the Pseudoaliinostoc clade.The 16S rRNA gene sequences of these two strains displayed≥95.5%and≤98%similarity to Pseudoaliinostoc species,which indicated them to represent new species of the genus Pseudoaliinostoc.Furthermore,the unique pattern of D1-D1′and Box-B helix of the 16S–23S rRNA internal transcribed spacer(ITS)secondary structure also revealed that two strains represented novel species.These results supported the establishment of two new Pseudoaliinostoc species with the name P.jiangxiense sp.nov.and P.yunnanense sp.nov.

A novel tricomponental condensation leading to p-nitrophenyl- ethyl hydrogen substituted benzylphosphonates was described.The use of these compounds for the synthesis of phosphonopeptide with phosphonamide moiety was demonstrated.

A NEW APPROACH TO ESTIMATE KINETIC DECOMPOSITION FROM TG-DTG OR DSC CURVE

This paper reports a new approach to estimate kinetic parameters for the thermal decomposition of the solid state from TG-DTG or DSC curve.Reduced equations are derived for the first tlme.The validity of these equations was demonstrated employing data obtained from the dehydration process of calcium oxalate monohydrate.

A NEW APPROACH TO THE SYNTHESES OF THE PHEROMONES OF JAPANESE BEETLE AND BONTEBOK WITH(Z)-VINYL CUPRATES

The dl-form of the sex pheromone of Japanese b(?)tle and the trail pheromone of Bontebok were synthesised in high purity of (Z)-olefinic configuration. The key step of the syntheses of compounds (1) and (2) involved stereospecific addition of n-alkyl cuprates to acetylene followed by addition of vinyl cuprates to aldehyde (7) and 3-buten--2-one.

The Mixed Spin-1/2 and Spin-1 Ising–Heisenberg Model in the Mean-Field Approximation: a New Approach

Thermodynamic properties of the mixed spin-1 and spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model are studied on a honeycomb lattice using a new approach in the mean-field approximation to analyze the effects of longitudinal Dz and transverse Dx crystal fields. The phase diagrams are calculated in detail by studying the thermal variations of the order parameters, i.e., magnetizations and quadrupole moments, and compared with the literature to assess the reliability of the new approach. It is found that the model yields both second- and first-order phase transitions, and tricritical points. The compensation behavior of the model is also investigated for the sublattice magnetizations, and longitudinal and transverse quadrupolar moments. The latter type of compensation is observed in the literature but its possible importance is overlooked.
