Research and Practice on the Construction of Professional Cluster in Application-Oriented Local Undergraduate Universities:Taking Environ-mental Chemical Engineering Professional Cluster in Pingdingshan University as an Example

Based on the analysis of the importance of professional cluster construction by ecological theory,with the change of social demand for talents,this paper explores the practice of environmental chemical professional cluster construction in Pingdingshan University,including gradually perfecting teaching conditions and reforming teaching mode,breaking through the limitations of resources,integrating the boundaries of colleges and departments,integrating multiple resources,innovating systems and mechanisms,reconstructing professional clusters,decon-structing professional connotations,reorganizing curriculum systems,etc.,in order to better build the ecological chain network of education in application-oriented colleges and universities,realize the deep integration of industry and education,train future-oriented interdisciplinary applied talents of new engineering,and realize the construction of characteristic professional cluster in application-oriented colleges.

Collaborative Cultivation of Ideological and Political Education and Undergraduate Management in Colleges and Universities Under the Guidance of Moral Education

Guided by moral education,improving the ideological and moral quality of college students is an important goal of college education.To achieve this goal,it is necessary to strengthen ideological and political education and continuously improve the level of undergraduate management.This paper outlines the feasibility of collaborative cultivation of ideological and political education and undergraduate management in colleges and universities and analyzes its significance and the specific implementation strategies,with a view to providing valuable references for relevant colleges and universities to carry out educational work.

Facilitators and Barriers to Cervical Cancer Screening among Female Undergraduate Students of Makerere University

There is a higher Human Papilloma Virus peak prevalence in younger women (18 - 25 years) of university age. The undergraduate university students are more at a risk of acquiring cervical cancer because they are at the stage of exploring which predisposes them to risky behavior like early sexual intercourse and multiple sexual partners among others. This creates a need for cervical cancer screening in the population. The facilitators and barriers to cervical cancer screening have been studied in the Ugandan general population but little is known among University students which this study is taking interest. Objective: This study is aimed at determining the facilitators, barriers and background factors associated to cervical cancer screening among female undergraduate students in Makerere University. Methods: Four hundred twenty-two (422) female undergraduate students of Makerere University who fit the eligibility criteria were recruited in this descriptive cross-sectional quantitative study. A self-administered semi structured questionnaire was administered to these participants chosen by convenient sampling. Data collected was analyzed using SPSS version 23 software and logistic regression models was used. Results: Less than a half of (21.1%) of the participants had ever screened for cervical cancer. At multivariate analysis, only year of study and married status were associated to cervical cancer screening with a P-values were of (0.015) and (0.001) with a (1.173 - 4.261) and (1.594 - 6.130) 95% CI respectively. The facilitators agreed upon by participants included: Access to free cervical cancer screening services, adequate knowledge about cervical cancer screening and advice from a friend, family or physician among others. The reported barriers to screening were fear of bad result, low risk perception and fear of embarrassment among others. Conclusions and Recommendations: Among the female undergraduate students of Makerere University, only 21.1% had screened for cervical cancer. Therefore, there is a critical need for university based cancer education campaign on cervical cancer and the benefits of screening. Screening services should be integrated into the existing university medical services.

Research on the evaluation index system of development work of the transformation of the secondary school of newly-built local undergraduate colleges and universities in our country

The newly-built local undergraduate colleges and universities positively respond to the call of national policy and successively joined the rank of transition to the application of technology-based development of university, in order to seek their own development path. Whether the transformation development work of secondary college can succeed or not directly decide whether the transformation work of the whole college can carry on smoothly or not. This essay, by establishing eighteen secondary indicators, investigates seven aspects of the newly-built local undergraduate colleges and universities secondary college transformation work, such as the general idea, specialty construction, talents training mode, teaching staff construction, integration of production with teaching, social services and quality assurance, hoping that it can play a reference to the work of other colleges and universities.

Evaluation of Awareness of Human Papillomavirus and Cervical Cancer among Female Undergraduates of a Private Mission University in Southwestern Nigeria

Background: Human papillomavirus infection is most prevalent in the younger population and causes cervical cancer, which is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. In 2018, cervical cancer was estimated to be 570,000 cases and 311,000 deaths;it ranked as the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer and the fourth leading cause of cancer death in women. Cervical cancer can be prevented through health education and vaccination against HPV. This study aimed at evaluating the level of awareness of human papillomavirus and cervical cancer among female undergraduate students of Babcock University, Ogun state of Nigeria. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study conducted among 310 female undergraduates of Babcock University in Nigeria from January to April 2019. The selection technique was a multistage random sampling method. The data collection was done using structured and self-administered questionnaires. Data collected were analyzed using IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) statistics for windows version 25 and were presented in summary charts and frequency tables. P-values less than or equal to 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: Of 310 female students, 296 (95.5%) were aware of HPV infections. The majority, 215 (69.4%) of the students knew that HPV is sexually transmitted. There was poor knowledge of the risk factors of HPV infection. Only, 65 (21.0%) were aware that HPV infection causes cervical cancer. A few proportions of students 79 (25.4%) were aware of the HPV vaccine. Consequently, only 44 (14.2%) have received HPV vaccination and some complained about the cost as a significant reason for not being vaccinated against HPV infection. Conclusion: The level of awareness of HPV infection, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccine uptake was very low in this study. There is a need to improve health education and awareness campaigns among students about HPV infection, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccine uptake.

Fostering Creativity and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy in Engineering Undergraduates： Curriculum Power and Context in One University of Technology

Through the Sequential Mixed Methods Approach, 24 final year power engineering students underwent 12 learnshops on creativity and entrepreneurship with an attempt to foster creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy among them. Pre- and post-test on creativity using Torrance＇s Test of Creativity （TTCT） and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy questionnaires were used to determine the level of both creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy The findings of the study show that a significant leap in how teaching and learning takes place is necessary if we are to properly prepare students for the 21st century knowledge economy and that active participation, confidence and ideas generation taking place under teamwork and informal settings are a way forward and to harness the two constructs.

Survey and Analysis on the Students Satisfaction with Undergraduate Teaching Management in Local Agricultural Colleges and Universities:A Case Study of Tianjin Agricultural University

Local agricultural colleges and universities undertake the important task of training rural revitalization talents suitable for regional characteristics.Only by mastering students'satisfaction with teaching management can we find the problems existing in teaching management.Taking Tianjin Agricultural University as an example,this paper analyzes the undergraduates'satisfaction with teaching management by questionnaire and SPSS24.0.The results show that undergraduates can actively and actively participate in undergraduate teaching management,but their satisfaction is not high.There are significant differences in teaching evaluation management satisfaction among students of different majors and grades.It is suggested to improve the level of teaching management from the aspects of guiding and cultivating a new concept of management and education,establishing and perfecting a scientific and rigorous teaching management system,strengthening the information-based construction of teaching management and strengthening personnel training.

Evaluating the confidence level of Traditional Chinese Medicine in nursing undergraduates at Chinese medical university

Objective:To observe the confidence level prevailing with regard to the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)among undergraduate nursing students who have undertaken TCM courses at Shanxi Medical University.Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted at Shanxi University of Chinese Medicine.A questionnaire survey was administered through the Questionnaire Star website(https://www.questionstar.com/).The confidence level was examined from 6 aspects,namely cognition of TCM culture and theory,advantages and characteristics of TCM diagnosis and treatment,feelings about TCM achievements,personal behaviors related to TCM,attitudes toward Western medicine,and the future of TCM.The mean score of the observed items was calculated,and was found to be positively related to the confidence level concerning TCM(the score was between 1 and 5).Results:A total of 120 participants voluntarily enrolled themselves in the study.The results showed that the mean score of observed items were generally about 4.A relatively strong confidence was shown in understating TCM advantages and characteristics in diagnosis and treatment,and also in feelings toward TCM achievements.Conclusions:The majority of nursing undergraduates had confidence in TCM.However,some aspects such as the understanding of TCM culture and the correlation between TCM and Western medicine may need to be improved through education.

Study on Full English Teaching of Hospitality Management in Application-oriented Undergraduate Universities

With the emergence of development of international integration,the domestic education also attaches great importance to English discipline.The hospitality management of application-oriented undergraduate universities demands high standard for English.The hospitality management of some domestic undergraduate universities has reformed the traditional English teaching mode and adopted the Full English Teaching mode.However,due to the lack of high-quality English teachers,the single teaching methods,and the lack of support from university for Full English Teaching,the actual effect of Full English Teaching is not ideal.Through investigation and analysis of an undergraduate university,this paper finally puts forward countermeasures against the deficiencies in the Full English Teaching mode so as to improve the professional quality of the teaching staff,adopt diversified teaching means and enhance the school’s support for English teaching.

加拿大大学学生学术道德规范管理的经验和启示——以萨斯卡切温大学(University of Saskatchewan)为例

以加拿大萨斯卡切温大学为例,在研究萨斯卡切温大学管理理念与特点的基础上,从遵守学术道德与违反学术道德的界定、学术道德失范的处罚规定、对学术道德失范行为的处罚程序、学生申诉的程序几个方面介绍了该校在学术道德建设方面的制度体系和日常管理。总结出萨斯卡切温大学学术规范管理体系对我国学术道德规范管理的几点启示:"以人为本"的管理理念促成积极向上的学术氛围;严格务实的培养机制促成学生脚踏实地的科研品质;详实可行的管理制度维护诚信健康的学术环境;严谨规范的学术道德申诉条例维护学生正当的学术权力。

Seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection among students of a Nigerian University

Objective:To investigate the seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) infection among the undergraduate students of Nasarawa state University,Keffi,Nigeria.Methods:A total of 200 serum samples were collected from undergraduate students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi,and 100μL of each serum was aseptically transferred to the specimen well of an H.pylori antigen kit(Clinotech USA).The 2 distinctive red lines apearing in the control and test regions of the kit after 10 minufes indicated positive reaction.Results:Of the 200 students sampled, 108(54%) were seropositive.Analysis of seroprevalence of H.pylori revealed the correlation between infection prevalence and age.The infection prevalence was 45.5%among students aged 18-20,rose to the peak of 85.7%adults aged 31-40,dropped to 66.7%among those 41-50 years old,and continuously went down to 28.6%in the 51-year-old and above populaion.There was a statistically significant difference(using Chi-square) with respects to gender,age and type of infection(symptomatic or asymptomatic seropositive infection)(P【0.0S).Conclucions: Community Health Personnel should be aware of this microorganism as a potential cause of illness in children.Furthermore,the mode of transmission and possible means of controlling the bacterial infection among students or a community is of public health concern and requires further study.

Study on Social Service Transformation of New Established Undergraduate Institutions in China: Based on Text Analysis on News on Official Website

The transformation of social services is one of the key tasks for the undergraduate university changing to be an applied university. This article made a text analysis on the news about social service from the column of "university events”. It shows that the social service of newly-building undergraduate university has distinctive features and has an orientation of "localness, application, openness”, which is a natural advantage. It also has the following problems: too many plans lacking systematicness, core competence and sense of participation, lower service level, out-of-date philosophy and so on. It is suggested that newly-building undergraduate university make an inner-driven transformation, with direct and active service to others.

Research on the Improvement and Innovation Paths of Teaching Quality in Private Universities in Zhejiang Province in the Digital Era

In the digital era,the education and teaching of private undergraduate universities in China are undergoing innovative reform.This article uses the literature review method to conduct a survey and research on the quality of teaching resources,teaching platforms,and literature reserves,and proposes a series of strategies and innovative paths to improve the teaching quality of private undergraduate universities.The research results show that the rational use of digital technology can improve the quality of education and teaching,and achieve innovative development in education and teaching.The research results have certain theoretical value and guiding significance for the teaching reform of private undergraduate universities under the background of digital teaching.

协同治理视域下地方本科院校推进市校深度融合发展探索

行政区域之“市”与地方本科院校之“校”是相互联系、相互影响、相互制约的关系体。然而,由于不同主体发展理念、利益诉求与行为方式的差异性,制约着彼此之间深度融合治理体系的高质量发展。因而,地方本科院校市校合作关系要实现从表层融入向深度融合转化,需要协同相关主体的价值观与利益点,凝聚政产学研不同主体力量与资源,从理念革新、规划设计、路径优化等方面持续优化协同治理结构,增强各主体行动自觉与融合实效。

“双碳”战略下煤炭高校多学科交叉人才培养——以工程管理专业为例

为适应国家绿色战略对人才需求的变化,煤炭高校应及时调整教育模式和培养理念,努力实现人才供给侧与产业需求侧的有机结合。该文依托国家一流本科专业建设点——河南理工大学工程管理专业,从培养目标设定、课程体系构建和达成度评价3个方面,凝练“两强、两重、两融合”的专业培养特色,构建“两平台、四模块、五融合”的跨学科交叉课程体系,提出培养目标达成评价和毕业要求达成评价。以2022届毕业生为例,综合课程及问卷达成结果进行应用效果分析。通过撬动专业的招生、培养、就业及评价一体化通道,旨在优化课程体系构建、完善人才培养模式。

OBE教育理念下的语言学导论课程教学改革探究

OBE是一种以成果为导向的先进教育理念,强调学生能力发展的教育思想。随着信息革命和互联网技术的发展,起源于北美的OBE理念对国内的高等教育改革也有深远影响。本文先分析地方二本院校英语专业语言学导论课程教学现状,再阐释OBE教育理念,并基于OBE教学理念,从激发学习兴趣的讲授方式、采取混合式教学、小组合作探究学习,加强过程评价管理、教师队伍建设以及促进学生角色转变来探讨语言学导论课程教学建设,以期在教学实践中改革教学方案和设计,提高课程教学的质量。

地方应用型本科院校教育中专业分类评价的探讨——以肇庆学院的本科专业评价为例

专业分类评价是推进地方应用型本科院校内涵发展的重要手段。肇庆学院作为省属应用型高校,在推进转型发展过程中,为强化高素质的应用型人才培养、加强专业结构调整优化力度,通过对专业进行分类评价不断促进本科专业质量提升和特色发展,探索研讨了以OBE教育理念为基础的适用于新办专业、师范类专业以及其他应用型专业的分类评价体系,有效地促进了学校专业的内涵建设与特色发展,对学校专业结构调整和专业建设发挥了重要作用。

内蒙古某高校本科护生伦理敏感性现状及影响因素分析

目的了解内蒙古某高校本科护生的伦理敏感性现状,探讨其影响因素。方法2024年3月,采用整群抽样法,通过抽签随机抽取大一至大四年级各3个班级(30人/班),共360名本科护生作为研究对象,采用一般情况调查表、中文版杰弗逊共情量表、护生职业认同问卷和护生伦理敏感性量表进行横断面调查。结果本科护生伦理敏感性条目均分为(2.82±0.37)分,共情能力条目均分为(3.94±0.54)分,职业认同感条目均分为(3.36±0.56)分;护生伦理敏感性总分与共情能力总分(r=0.526)、护生职业认同总分(r=0.324)均呈正相关(P<0.01);多元线性回归分析结果显示,年级、是否接受过护理道德伦理相关知识的学习或培训、共情能力和职业认同为影响护生伦理敏感性的主要因素(P<0.05),共解释伦理敏感性总变异的48.1%。结论本科护生伦理敏感性处于中上水平,尚有一定的提升空间,需要教育者全方位、多层次地开展相应教学或培训,以提升护生伦理敏感性水平。

应用型本科高校信息技术类课程全过程考核模式研究

文章旨在探讨应用型本科高校信息技术类课程全过程考核模式的特点、必要性和应用策略。文章采用文献综述法和案例分析法,研究结果表明,应用型本科高校信息技术类课程具有实践性强、应用性强的特点,传统的期末考试模式已不能满足人才培养需求,实施全过程考核模式的必要。全过程考核模式要注重考核内容的多样性、考核方式的灵活性和考核主体的多元性。研究结论认为,应用型本科高校信息技术类课程实施全过程考核模式,有利于促进学生学习主动性,提高实践应用能力,对提升人才培养质量具有重要意义。

“双一流”建设高校本科教育质量评价与排名(2024年)

在第二轮“双一流”建设背景下,中国高等教育学会“一流大学建设与一流本科教育的研究”课题组以习近平总书记关于教育的重要论述为理论指引,紧密结合《深化新时代教育评价改革总体方案》的战略部署,对现有的“双一流”建设高校本科教育质量评价指标体系进行了优化,推出第三轮中国“双一流”建设高校本科教育质量“百优榜”。本轮评价指标体系坚持“以本为本”“德育为先”“科教融合”“动态发展”等原则,评价结果为相关高校改进本科教育质量提供参考。
