There is a higher Human Papilloma Virus peak prevalence in younger women (18 - 25 years) of university age. The undergraduate university students are more at a risk of acquiring cervical cancer because they are at the stage of exploring which predisposes them to risky behavior like early sexual intercourse and multiple sexual partners among others. This creates a need for cervical cancer screening in the population. The facilitators and barriers to cervical cancer screening have been studied in the Ugandan general population but little is known among University students which this study is taking interest. <strong>Objective: </strong>This study is aimed at determining the facilitators, barriers and background factors associated to cervical cancer screening among female undergraduate students in Makerere University. <strong>Methods: </strong>Four hundred twenty-two (422) female undergraduate students of Makerere University who fit the eligibility criteria were recruited in this descriptive cross-sectional quantitative study. A self-administered semi structured questionnaire was administered to these participants chosen by convenient sampling. Data collected was analyzed using SPSS version 23 software and logistic regression models was used. <strong>Results:</strong> Less than a half of (21.1%) of the participants had ever screened for cervical cancer. At multivariate analysis, only year of study and married status were associated to cervical cancer screening with a P-values were of (0.015) and (0.001) with a (1.173 - 4.261) and (1.594 - 6.130) 95% CI respectively. The facilitators agreed upon by participants included: Access to free cervical cancer screening services, adequate knowledge about cervical cancer screening and advice from a friend, family or physician among others. The reported barriers to screening were fear of bad result, low risk perception and fear of embarrassment among others. <strong>Conclusions and Recommendations: </strong>Among the female undergraduate students of Makerere University, only 21.1% had screened for cervical cancer. Therefore, there is a critical need for university based cancer education campaign on cervical cancer and the benefits of screening. Background: Human papillomavirus infection is most prevalent in the younger population and causes cervical cancer, which is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. In 2018, cervical cancer was estimated to be 570,000 cases and 311,000 deaths;it ranked as the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer and the fourth leading cause of cancer death in women. Cervical cancer can be prevented through health education and vaccination against HPV. This study aimed at evaluating the level of awareness of human papillomavirus and cervical cancer among female undergraduate students of Babcock University, Ogun state of Nigeria. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study conducted among 310 female undergraduates of Babcock University in Nigeria from January to April 2019. The selection technique was a multistage random sampling method. The data collection was done using structured and self-administered questionnaires. Data collected were analyzed using IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) statistics for windows version 25 and were presented in summary charts and frequency tables. P-values less than or equal to 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: Of 310 female students, 296 (95.5%) were aware of HPV infections. The majority, 215 (69.4%) of the students knew that HPV is sexually transmitted. There was poor knowledge of the risk factors of HPV infection. Only, 65 (21.0%) were aware that HPV infection causes cervical cancer. A few proportions of students 79 (25.4%) were aware of the HPV vaccine. Consequently, only 44 (14.2%) have received HPV vaccination and some complained about the cost as a significant reason for not being vaccinated against HPV infection. Conclusion: The level of awareness of HPV infection, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccine uptake was very low in this study. There is a need to improve health education and awareness campaigns among students about HPV infection, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccine uptake. 展开更多

Pre- and post-test on creativity using Torrance's Test of Creativity (TTCT) and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy questionnaires were used to determine the level of both creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy The findings of the study show that a significant leap in how teaching and learning takes place is necessary if we are to properly prepare students for the 21st century knowledge economy and that active participation, confidence and ideas generation taking place under teamwork and informal settings are a way forward and to harness the two constructs. 展开更多

Local agricultural colleges and universities undertake the important task of training rural revitalization talents suitable for regional characteristics.Only by mastering students'satisfaction with teaching management can we find the problems existing in teaching management.Taking Tianjin Agricultural University as an example,this paper analyzes the undergraduates'satisfaction with teaching management by questionnaire and SPSS24.0.The results show that undergraduates can actively and actively participate in undergraduate teaching management,but their satisfaction is not high.There are significant differences in teaching evaluation management satisfaction among students of different majors and grades.It is suggested to improve the level of teaching management from the aspects of guiding and cultivating a new concept of management and education,establishing and perfecting a scientific and rigorous teaching management system,strengthening the information-based construction of teaching management and strengthening personnel training. 展开更多

Objective:To observe the confidence level prevailing with regard to the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)among undergraduate nursing students who have undertaken TCM courses at Shanxi Medical University.Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted at Shanxi University of Chinese Medicine.A questionnaire survey was administered through the Questionnaire Star website(https://www.questionstar.com/).The confidence level was examined from 6 aspects,namely cognition of TCM culture and theory,advantages and characteristics of TCM diagnosis and treatment,feelings about TCM achievements,personal behaviors related to TCM,attitudes toward Western medicine,and the future of TCM.The mean score of the observed items was calculated,and was found to be positively related to the confidence level concerning TCM(the score was between 1 and 5).Results:A total of 120 participants voluntarily enrolled themselves in the study.The results showed that the mean score of observed items were generally about 4.A relatively strong confidence was shown in understating TCM advantages and characteristics in diagnosis and treatment,and also in feelings toward TCM achievements.Conclusions:The majority of nursing undergraduates had confidence in TCM.However,some aspects such as the understanding of TCM culture and the correlation between TCM and Western medicine may need to be improved through education. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) infection among the undergraduate students of Nasarawa state University,Keffi,Nigeria.Methods:A total of 200 serum samples were collected from undergraduate students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi,and 100μL of each serum was aseptically transferred to the specimen well of an H.pylori antigen kit(Clinotech USA).The 2 distinctive red lines apearing in the control and test regions of the kit after 10 minufes indicated positive reaction.Results:Of the 200 students sampled, 108(54%) were seropositive.Analysis of seroprevalence of H.pylori revealed the correlation between infection prevalence and age.The infection prevalence was 45.5%among students aged 18-20,rose to the peak of 85.7%adults aged 31-40,dropped to 66.7%among those 41-50 years old,and continuously went down to 28.6%in the 51-year-old and above populaion.There was a statistically significant difference(using Chi-square) with respects to gender,age and type of infection(symptomatic or asymptomatic seropositive infection)(P【0.0S).Conclucions: Community Health Personnel should be aware of this microorganism as a potential cause of illness in children.Furthermore,the mode of transmission and possible means of controlling the bacterial infection among students or a community is of public health concern and requires further study. 展开更多

This article made a text analysis on the news about social service from the column of "university events”. It shows that the social service of newly-building undergraduate university has distinctive features and has an orientation of "localness, application, openness”, which is a natural advantage. It also has the following problems: too many plans lacking systematicness, core competence and sense of participation, lower service level, out-of-date philosophy and so on. 内蒙古某高校本科护生伦理敏感性现状及影响因素分析

目的了解内蒙古某高校本科护生的伦理敏感性现状,探讨其影响因素。方法2024年3月,采用整群抽样法,通过抽签随机抽取大一至大四年级各3个班级(30人/班),共360名本科护生作为研究对象,采用一般情况调查表、中文版杰弗逊共情量表、护生职... 目的了解内蒙古某高校本科护生的伦理敏感性现状,探讨其影响因素。方法2024年3月,采用整群抽样法,通过抽签随机抽取大一至大四年级各3个班级(30人/班),共360名本科护生作为研究对象,采用一般情况调查表、中文版杰弗逊共情量表、护生职业认同问卷和护生伦理敏感性量表进行横断面调查。结果本科护生伦理敏感性条目均分为(2.82±0.37)分,共情能力条目均分为(3.94±0.54)分,职业认同感条目均分为(3.36±0.56)分;护生伦理敏感性总分与共情能力总分(r=0.526)、护生职业认同总分(r=0.324)均呈正相关(P<0.01);多元线性回归分析结果显示,年级、是否接受过护理道德伦理相关知识的学习或培训、共情能力和职业认同为影响护生伦理敏感性的主要因素(P<0.05),共解释伦理敏感性总变异的48.1%。结论本科护生伦理敏感性处于中上水平,尚有一定的提升空间,需要教育者全方位、多层次地开展相应教学或培训,以提升护生伦理敏感性水平。 展开更多

文章旨在探讨应用型本科高校信息技术类课程全过程考核模式的特点、必要性和应用策略。文章采用文献综述法和案例分析法,研究结果表明,应用型本科高校信息技术类课程具有实践性强、应用性强的特点,传统的期末考试模式已不能满足人才培... 文章旨在探讨应用型本科高校信息技术类课程全过程考核模式的特点、必要性和应用策略。文章采用文献综述法和案例分析法,研究结果表明,应用型本科高校信息技术类课程具有实践性强、应用性强的特点,传统的期末考试模式已不能满足人才培养需求,实施全过程考核模式的必要。全过程考核模式要注重考核内容的多样性、考核方式的灵活性和考核主体的多元性。研究结论认为,应用型本科高校信息技术类课程实施全过程考核模式,有利于促进学生学习主动性,提高实践应用能力,对提升人才培养质量具有重要意义。 展开更多
