Ni-based composite coatings with a high content of tungsten carbides(Stelcar65composite coatings)were synthesized by plasma transferred arc(PTA)hardfacing. The welding parameters of Stelcar65composite coatings were optimized by orthogonal tests. The PTA welding parameters including welding current, powder feed rate and welding speed have significant influence on the tungsten carbide degradation. The values for the optimum welding current, powder feed rate and welding speed were determined to be100A,25g/min and40mm/min,respectively.The produced WC/Ni-based composite coatings were crack-and degradation-free.The microstructure of deposited layers,as well as the microstructure and microhardness of the optimal coating were further analyzed. 展开更多

A Ni-based composite coating reinforced by in situ synthesized TiB2 and TiC particles was fabricated on Ti6A14V by laser cladding. An attempt was made to correlate the thermodynamic predictions and experimental observation. The micro- structure and the microhardness profile across the coating were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and a hardness tester. It is found that the coating mainly consists of a large number of reinforcements (black blocky TiB2, flower-like or equiaxial TiC, and fine acicular CrB) and the 7 matrix. The hardness of TiB2, TiC, and CrB reinforcements is much higher than that of the 7 matrix. The dispersive distribu- tion of such high hardness reinforcements causes the increase in hardness of the whole coating. The average value of the hard- ness is approximately Hv0.2 700 in the coating. The hardness of the coating is obviously higher than that of the substrate due to the dispersion strengthening of reinforcements. 展开更多

The Ni-based alloy composite coatings reinforced by nanostructured Al2O3-40%TiO2 multiphase ceramic particles were prepared on the surface of 7005 aluminum alloy by plasma spray technology. The microstructure and tribological properties of the composite coatings were researched. The results show that the composite coatings mainly consist of γ-Ni, α-Al2O3, γ-Al2O3 and rutile-TiO2 etc, and exhibit lower friction coefficients and wear losses than the Ni-based alloy coatings at different loads and speeds. The composite coating bears low contact stress at 3 N and its wear mechanism is micro-cutting wear. As loads increase to 6-12 N, the contact stress is higher than the elastic limit stress of worn surface, and the wear mechanisms change into multi-plastic deformation wear, micro-brittle fracture wear and abrasive wear. With the increase of speeds, the contact temperature of worn surface increases. The composite coating experiences multi-plastic deformation wear, fatigue wear and adhesive wear. 展开更多

Ni-based self lubricating composites containing four different amounts of silver were prepared by powder metallurgy(PM) route. The room temperature friction and wear behavior was investigated by carrying out dry sliding experiments against bearing steel using a ring-on-disk configuration.Tests were conducted at a constant load of 100 N and different sliding speeds of 0.5,1.0 and 1.5 m/s to analyze the effect of both the speed and the silver content on the wear behavior of the tribo-pair.The friction coefficient and the wear rate of the composites were found to decrease with increasing both the sliding speed and the silver content. The wear rate of the counterface was observed to be a little higher when it was siding against the composite having silver in comparison to that without any silver. However, the overall wear rate of the tribo-pair was found to decrease with increasing sliding speed and silver content. 展开更多

With vigorous developments in nanotechnology, the elaborate regulation of microstructure shows attractive potential in the design of electromagnetic wave absorbers.Herein,a hierarchical porous structure and composite heterogeneous interface are constructed successfully to optimize the electromagnetic loss capacity. The macro–micro-synergistic graphene aerogel formed by the ice template‑assisted 3D printing strategy is cut by silicon carbide nanowires(SiC_(nws))grown in situ, while boron nitride(BN)interfacial structure is introduced on graphene nanoplates. The unique composite structure forces multiple scattering of incident EMWs,ensuring the combined effects of interfacial polarization, conduction networks, and magnetic-dielectric synergy. Therefore, the as-prepared composites present a minimum reflection loss value of−37.8 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 9.2 GHz(from 8.8 to 18.0 GHz)at 2.5 mm.Besides, relying on the intrinsic high-temperature resistance of SiC_(nws) and BN,the EAB also remains above 5.0 GHz after annealing in air environment at 600℃ for 10 h. 展开更多

To address the limitations of contemporary lithium-ion batteries, particularly their low energy density and safety concerns,all-solid-state lithium batteries equipped with solid-state electrolytes have been identified as an up-and-coming alternative.Among the various SEs,organic–inorganic composite solid electrolytes(OICSEs)that combine the advantages of both polymer and inorganic materials demonstrate promising potential for large-scale applications. However,OICSEs still face many challenges in practical applications, such as low ionic conductivity and poor interfacial stability, which severely limit their applications. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent research advancements in OICSEs.Specifically, the influence of inorganic fillers on the main functional parameters of OICSEs,including ionic conductivity,Li+transfer number, mechanical strength, electrochemical stability, electronic conductivity, and thermal stability are systematically discussed. The lithium-ion conduction mechanism of OICSE is thoroughly analyzed and concluded from the microscopic perspective.Besides, the classic inorganic filler types, including both inert and active fillers, are categorized with special emphasis on the relationship between inorganic filler structure design and the electrochemical performance of OICSEs.Finally, the advanced characterization techniques relevant to OICSEs are summarized, and the challenges and perspectives on the future development of OICSEs are also highlighted for constructing superior ASSLBs. 展开更多

This study aimed to investigate the moment redistribution in continuous glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)-concrete composite slabs caused by concrete cracking and steel bar yielding in the negative bending moment zone.An experimental bending moment redistribution test was conducted on continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs, and a calculation method based on the conjugate beam method was proposed. The composite slabs were formed by combining GFRP profiles with a concrete layer and supported on steel beams to create two-span continuous composite slab specimens. Two methods, epoxy resin bonding, and stud connection, were used to connect the composite slabs with the steel beams. The experimental findings showed that the specimen connected with epoxy resin exhibited two moments redistribution phenomena during the loading process:concrete cracking and steel bar yielding at the internal support. In contrast, the composite slab connected with steel beams by studs exhibited only one-moment redistribution phenomenon throughout the loading process. As the concrete at the internal support cracked, the bending moment decreased in the internal support section and increased in the midspan section. When the steel bars yielded, the bending moment further decreased in the internal support section and increased in the mid-span section.Since GFRP profiles do not experience cracking, there was no significant decrease in the bending moment of the mid-span section. All test specimens experienced compressive failure of concrete at the mid-span section.Calculation results showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of bending moments in the mid-span section and internal support section. The proposed model can effectively predict the moment redistribution behavior of continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs. 展开更多

Electrochemical measurements on three planes of TiC/Inconel 718 composites fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM) were performed to study the corrosion property. The results showed that the YZplane with dense and fine columnar structures possessed high microhardness and superior corrosion resistance in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. For the XZ-plane, a decreased anti-corrosion property was observed owing to its inhomogeneous microstructures. While the XY-plane with large irregular pores and clustered ring-like structures was more susceptible to corrosion compared with the other two planes. Comparative analysis suggested that the anisotropic corrosion behaviors were significantly dependent on the surface defects, microstructure characteristics and added reinforcements. 展开更多

The in situ synthesized NbC particles reinforced Ni-based alloy composite coating was produced by laser cladding a precursor mixture of Ni-based alloy powder, graphite and niobium powders on a steel substrate. The microstructure, phase composition and wear property of the composite coating were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and dry sliding wear test. The experiment results show that the composite coating is homogeneous and free from cracks, and about 0.8 mm thick. The microstructure of the composite coating is mainly composed of NbC particles, CrB type chromium borides, 7-Ni primary dendrites, and interdendritic eutectics. CrB phases often nucleate and grow on the surface of NbC particles or in their close vicinity. NbC particles are formed via in situ reaction between niobium and graphite in the molten pool during the laser cladding process and they are commonly precipitated in three kinds of morphologies, such as quadrangle, cluster, and flower-like shape. Compared with the pure Ni- based alloy coating, the microhardness of the composite coating is increased about 38%, giving a high average hardness of HV0.21000, and the wear rate of the composite coating is decreased by about 32%, respectively. These are attributed to the presence of in situ synthesized NbC particles and their well distribution in the coating. 展开更多

The novel Ni-based brazing filler was used to join C/C composites. When brazing temperature increased from 1080 to 1100°C,the wetting angle decreased from 23°to 14°,and the brazing filler had good wettability on the surface of C/C composites. The brazing seam of the brazed joint consisted of Ni(s,s)and Cr_(3)C_(2) phases. As brazing temperature increased, lots of Cr_(3)C_(2) phases were generated at the bonding interface, and the thick reaction layer was formed. When brazing temperature was 1120°C,the shear strength of C/C joint reached the maximum value of 31.5 MPa.The fracture path extended in the C/C matrix close to the bonding interface. 展开更多

The tribological properties of Nickel-based composites containing Ti3 SiC2 and Ag2 W2 O7 fabricated by spark plasma sintering against Si3 N4 balls were investigated using a ball-on-disk tribometer from room temperature to 600 ℃. The tribolayers formed on the friction surface and their effects on the tribological properties of composites at different temperatures were discussed based on the worn surface characterization. The results show that Ag2 W2 O7 is decomposed into metallic silver and CrWO4 during the high-temperature fabrication process. The composite with the addition of 20 wt% Ti3 SiC2 and 5 wt% Ag2 W2 O7 exhibits a friction coefficient of 0.33-0.49 and a wear rate of 7.07×10-5-9.89×10-5 mm3/(Nm) over a wide temperature range from room temperature to 600 ℃. The excellent tribological properties at a wide temperature range are attributed to the formation of a glaze layer at low temperature and a tribooxide layer at high temperature, which can provide a low shearing strength for the synergistic effects of Ag and tribooxides. 展开更多

In order to reduce the friction coefficient of Ni-base alloy coating and further improve its wear resistance,Ni-base alloy composite coatings modified by both graphite and TiC particles were prepared by plasma spray technology on the surface of 45 carbon steel. The results show that friction coefficient of the composite coating is 47.45% lower than that of the Ni-base alloy coating, and the wear mass loss is reduced by 59.1%.Slip lines and severe adhesive plastic deformation are observed on the worn surface of the Ni-base alloy coating, indicating that the wear mechanisms of the Ni-base alloy coating are multi-plastic deformation wear and adhesive wear.A soft transferred layer abundant in graphite and ferric oxide is developed on the worn surface of the composite coating, which reduces the friction coefficient and wear loss in a great deal. The main wear mechanism of the composite coating is fatigue delamination of the transferred layer. 展开更多

Ms-T curves and hysteresis loops were investigated for amorphous Fe78Si9B13, (FeNi)78(CrSiB)22, their lap-wound-cores, and their composite ribbons made by two-chamber-crucible technique. The properties of the lap-wound cores of the two kinds of ribbons are similar. For the composite ribbons, the intrinsic properties are the average of the two alloys. Their technological properties, i.e., hysteresis loops, however, are no longer the average of the two alloys. Instead, they show some dramatic changes compared to the lap-wound-cores. Especially, the shape of the hysteresis loop of the composite ribbon cores is largely different from that of lap-wound-cores. The reason for the difference is supposed to be internal stress induced from cooling after annealing. 展开更多

TiC particles reinforced Ni-based alloy composite coatings were prepared on 7005 aluminum alloy by plasma spray. The effects of load, speed and temperature on the tribological behavior and mechanisms of the composite coatings under dry friction were researched. The results show that the composite coatings exhibit smaller friction coefficients and wear losses than the Ni-based alloy coatings under different friction conditions. The predicting time of the LS-SVM model is only 12.93%of that of the BP-ANN model, and the predicting accuracies on friction coefficients and wear losses of the former are increased by 58.74%and 41.87%compared with the latter. Ni-based submicron WS2/CaF2 self-lubricating composite coatings were produced on carbon steel substrate by high velocity oxygen fuel(HVOF) spray processing, and the microstructure and mechanical properties of the coatings were investigated. Non-uniform microstructure characterized by some pores and microcracks is observed in the produced composite coatings, which leads to low microhardness value, low adhesive strength and low frictional coefficient. For Ni45-5%CaF2-10%WS2 (mass fraction) and Ni45-10%CaF2-5%WS2 (mass fraction) coatings, under the test condition of load 40 N and speed 2 m/s, the friction coefficients obtained at room temperature are in the range of 0.35-0.48 and 0.31-0.41, respectively. Ni-20Cr powders mixed with tungsten, aluminum, titanium, and different contents of molybdenum disulfides were hot-pressed in graphite mould by powder metallurgy method. Their tribological properties from room temperature to 600 ℃ and mechanical properties at atmosphere were tested. The results show that the hardness and anti-bending strength of composites increase by more than 20% when containing 6%(mass fraction) MoS2. But when molybdenum disulfide content exceeds 6%,the hardness and anti-bending strength will decrease gradually. The addition of MoS2 is favored to the reduction of friction coefficient of composite. The friction coefficient of composite decreases with the increase of molybdenum disulfide until the percentage of lubricant reaches 12%. In excess of this value, the friction coefficient value starts to ascend. The wear rates of composite with molybdenum disulfide are one order of magnitude lower than the alloy without lubricant. When the addition amount of MoS2 is in the range of 6% and 12%,the wear rates keep at the resemble level. 展开更多
