Biomass with and without containing nitrogen could be designed and optimized to prepare PNC via hydrothermal carbonization, pyrolysis, and other methods. The presence of nitrogen in carbon can provide more active sites for ion absorption, improve the electronic conductivity, increase the bonding between carbon and sulfur, and enhance the electrochemical catalytic reaction. The residual time of gases(such as CH4and N2) in the chamber was determined by optical emission spectroscopy to determine the nano-multilayer growth process, and thin, nanoscale nitrogen-doped layers were obtained. The highest toughness of 18.2 MPa·m^(1/2)under a Young’s modulus of1000 GPa is obtained when the single-layer thickness of periodic nitrogen-doped nano-multilayers is about 96 nm. The fracture toughness of periodic nitrogen-doped CVD layer is about 2.1 times that of the HPHT seed substrate. Alternating tensile and compressive stresses are derived from periodic nitrogen doping;hence, the fracture toughness is significantly improved. Single-crystal diamond with a high toughness demonstrates wide application prospects for high-pressure anvils and single-point diamond cutting tools.展开更多

However, the complicated but not eco-friendly surface functionalization processes(e.g. HNO3 oxidation) are generally necessary to help disperse nanocarbon materials into epoxy or build chemical bonds between them. Herein, nitrogen doped carbon nanotube(NCNT) was used to replace CNT to reinforce the epoxy resin, and the mechanical properties of the NCNT/epoxy nanocomposite showed significant superiorities over the CNT/epoxy nanocomposites. The fabrication process was simple and environmentally friendly, and avoided complicated, polluting and energy intensive surface functionalization processes. Moreover, the NCNT/epoxy suspension exhibited a relative low viscosity, which was favorable for the subsequent application. The reinforcing mechanism of NCNT was also proposed. The present work gives out an easy solution to the preparation of a high-performance nanocomposite as a potential lightweight structure material.展开更多

文摘Heavy metals usually exist stably as the species of organic complexes in high-salinity wastewater. Therefore, their effective removal is challenging, especially when the initial p H is neutral.Herein,a novel nitrogen doped biomass-based composite(N-CMCS)was synthesized to remove the complexed heavy metal of Cr(Ⅲ)-carboxyl.The maximum adsorption capacity of Cr(Ⅲ)-Citrate(Cr-Cit)by N-CMCS under neutral p H(7.0)and high-salinity(200 mmol/L NaCl)condition was up to 2.50 mmol/g.And the removal performance remained stable after 6 times of regeneration.Combined with species and characterizations analysis, electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bonding were the main mechanisms for N-CMCS to remove Cr(Ⅲ)-carboxyl complexes.Dynamic adsorption indicated N-CMCS column could treat about 1300BV simulated wastewater and 350 BV actual wastewater with the concentration of effluent lower than1.0 mg/L.Furthermore,N-CMCS could remove a variety of complexed heavy metal ions under neutral p H,indicating the great potential in practical application.

文摘Effective and robust electrocatalysts are mainly based on innovative materials and unique structures.Herein,we designed a flakelike cobalt phosphide-based catalyst supporting on NiCo_(2)O_(4)nanorods array, which in-situ grew on the nickel foam(NF)current collector, referring as NCo_(2)P/NiCo_(2)O_(4)/NF electrode.By optimizing the microstructure and electronic structure through 3D hierarchy fabrication and nitrogen doping, the catalyst features with abundant electrochemical surface area, favorable surface wettability, excellent electron transport,as well as tailored d band center.Consequently, the as-prepared N-Co_(2)P/NiCo_(2)O_(4)/NF electrode exhibits an impressive HER activity with a low overpotentials of58 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2),a Tafel slop of 75 mV dec^(-1),as well as superior durability in alkaline medium. This work may provide a new pathway to effectively improve the hydrogen evolution performance of transition metal phosphides and to develop promising electrodes for practical electrocatalysis.

文摘Periodic nitrogen-doped homoepitaxial nano-multilayers were grown by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. Single-crystal diamond with a high toughness demonstrates wide application prospects for high-pressure anvils and single-point diamond cutting tools.

文摘A series of nitrogen-doped SrMoO_(4) with different Sr/N mole ratio (R=0,0.05,0.10,0.15,0.20,0.40,and 0.60) were synthesized using urea as the N source via the vapor-thermal method. The photocatalytic degradation ability of all samples was evaluated using methylene blue (MB) as a target contaminant. The band gaps of N-doped samples are all higher than that of pristine ones, which is only 3.12 eV.BET specific surface area S_(BET) and pore volume are increased due to the N doping. And the greater increase of S_(BET),the faster the photodegradation speed of methylene blue on SrMoO_(4).More specifically, the degradation efficiency of MB is improved up to 87%in 100 min.

文摘Nitrogen-doped nanocrystalline diamond films(N-NDFs)have been deposited on p-type silicon(Si)by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. The reaction gases are methane, hydrogen, and nitrogen without the conventional argon(Ar).The N-NDFs were characterized by X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The grain sizes are of 8~10 nm in dimension. The N-NDF shows n-type behavior and the corresponding N-NDF/p-Si heterojunction diodes are realized with a high rectification ratio of 102 at^7.8 V,and the current density reaches to1.35 A/cm2 at forward voltage of 8.5 V.The findings suggest that fabricated by CH_4/H_2/N_2 without Ar,the N-NDFs and the related rectifying diodes are favorable for achieving high performance diamond-based optoelectronic devices.

文摘Ammonia electrooxidation reaction involving multistep electron-proton transfer is a significant reaction for fuel cells, hydrogen production and understanding nitrogen cycle.Platinum has been established as the best electrocatalyst for ammonia oxidation in aqueous alkaline media. In this study,Pt/nitrogen-doped graphene(NDG)and Pt/tungsten monocarbide(WC)/NDG are synthesized by a wet chemistry method and their ammonia oxidation activities are compared to commercial Pt/C.Pt/NDG exhibits a specific activity of 0.472 mA·cm^(-2),which is 44%higher than commercial Pt/C,thus establishing NDG as a more effective support than carbon black. Moreover,it is demonstrated that WC as a support also impacts the activity with further 30%increase in comparison to NDG.Surface modification with Ir resulted in the best electro-catalytic activity with Pt-IrAVC/NDG having almost thrice the current density of commercial Pt/C.This work adds insights regarding the role of NDG and WC as efficient supports along with significant impact of Ir surface modification.

文摘Nitrogen doped carbon species(NC)was introduced into Fe based catalyst and applied into propane non-oxidative dehydrogenation. With characterizations of XRD,TEM and XPS,it was deduced that the NC modification induces the electrons transferred from NC species to Fe species, leading to electron-rich Fe species.Consequently, propane conversion and propene selectivity were increased by suppressing the by-products formation. It was also confirmed that such a modification strategy could be also extended to ones with different supports, iron precursors, and NC precursors.

文摘The outstanding mechanical properties of nanocarbon materials, especially carbon nanotube(CNT), make them one of the most promising reinforcing nanofillers for the high-performance lightweight structural material. The present work gives out an easy solution to the preparation of a high-performance nanocomposite as a potential lightweight structure material.

文摘The design and synthesis of high‐performance and low‐cost electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),a key half‐reaction in water electrolysis, are essential.Owing to their modest hydrogen adsorption energy, ruthenium(Ru)‐based nanomaterials are considered outstanding candidates to replace the expensive platinum(Pt)‐based HER electrocatalysts. In this study,we developed an adsorption‐pyrolysis method to construct nitrogen(N)‐doped graphene aerogel(N‐GA)‐supported ultrafine Ru nanocrystal(Ru‐NC)nanocomposites(Ru‐NCs/N‐GA).The particle size of the Ru‐NCs and the conductivity of the N‐GA substrate can be controlled by varying the pyrolysis temperature.Optimal experiments reveal revealed that 10 wt%Ru‐NCs/N‐GA nanocomposites require overpotentials of only 52 and 36 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) in 1 mol/L HClO4 and 1 mol/L KOH electrolytes for HER,respectively, which is comparable to 20 wt%Pt/C electrocatalyst.Benefiting from the ultrafine size and uniform dispersion of the Ru‐NCs,the synergy between Ru and the highly conductive substrate, and the anchoring effect of the N atom, the Ru‐NCs/N‐GA nanocomposites exhibit excellent activity and durability in the pH‐universal HER,thereby opening a new avenue for the production of commercial HER electrocatalysts.
