According to the difference between common buildings and cable cars, problems of height non-uniformity of equivalent section caused by inclination of the cable car and diversity of lightning activity regularity caused by the large area were resolved, and expected annual average frequency of lightning strike was calculated using three dimensional graphic approach and regional lightning characteristic analysis. Based on different types of damage process and loss consequences, according to interception effect against lightning invasion of the lightning protection measures and the method of probability selection proposed in the standard, the probability of casu- alty caused by direct lightning strike in a cable car and a waiting area as well as probabilities of casualty caused by failure of electronic information systems were cal- culated.展开更多
Mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma(MANEC)is a malignant tumor with adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine components,with≥30%of each component required.MANEC of the ampulla is rare.To the best of our knowledge,only 15 ca...Mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma(MANEC)is a malignant tumor with adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine components,with≥30%of each component required.MANEC of the ampulla is rare.To the best of our knowledge,only 15 cases of MANEC of the ampulla have been reported in the English-language literature.Here,we report two cases of MANEC of the ampulla in two womenaged 43 and 60 years,which was confirmed by histology after pancreaticoduodenectomy.These tumors contained neuroendocrine and adenocarcinoma components.The neuroendocrine components were positive for chromogranin A(Cg A),synaptophysin(Syn)and CD56 by immunostaining.The adenocarcinoma components were negative for Cg A,Syn and CD56.Both cases were T3N0M0(StageⅢA).They survived for 15 and 20 mo after surgery,respectively.A brief discussion about the histopathological features,clinical behavior and treatment of MANEC of ampulla,and review of the relevant literature are presented.展开更多

Finally, numerical simulations are carried out for the stability of a high speed passenger car operating on straight and large radius curved tracks. The unsteady aerodynamic pressure on body surfaces is proved to be the key effect factor of car interio...How to simulate interior aerodynamic noise accurately is an important question of a car interior noise reduction. The unsteady aerodynamic pressure on body surfaces is proved to be the key effect factor of car interior aerodynamic noise control in high frequency on high speed. In this paper, a detail statistical energy analysis (SEA) model is built. And the vibra-acoustic power inputs are loaded on the model for the valid result of car interior noise analysis. The model is the solid foundation for further optimization on car interior noise control. After the most sensitive subsystems for the power contribution to car interior noise are pointed by SEA comprehensive analysis, the sound pressure level of car interior aerodynamic noise can be reduced by improving their sound and damping characteristics. The further vehicle testing results show that it is available to improve the interior acoustic performance by using detailed SEA model, which comprised by more than 80 subsystems, with the unsteady aerodynamic pressure calculation on body surfaces and the materials improvement of sound/damping properties. It is able to acquire more than 2 dB reduction on the central frequency in the spectrum over 800 Hz. The proposed optimization method can be looked as a reference of car interior aerodynamic noise control by the detail SEA model integrated unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and sensitivity analysis of acoustic contribution.展开更多
Canopy air curtain (CAC) technology has been developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for use on continuous miners and subsequently roof bolting machines in underground coal m...Canopy air curtain (CAC) technology has been developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for use on continuous miners and subsequently roof bolting machines in underground coal mines to protect operators of these machines from overexposure to respirable coal mine dust. The next logical progression is to develop a CAC for shuttle cars to protect operators from the same overexposures. NIOSH awarded a contract to Marshall University and J.H. Fletcher to develop the shuttle car CAC. NIOSH conducted laboratory testing to determine the dust control efficiency of the shuttle car CAC. Testing was conducted on two different cab configurations: a center drive similar to that on a Joy 10SC32AA cab model and an end drive similar to that on a Joy 10SC32AB cab model. Three different ventilation velocities were tested-0.61, 2.0, 4.3 rrds (120, 400, and 850 fpm). The lowest, 0.61 m/s (120 fpm), represented the ventilation velocity encountered during loading by the continuous miner, while the 4.3 m/s (850 fpm) velocity represented ventilation velocity airflow over the shuttle car while tramming against ventilation airflow. Test results showed an average of the dust control efficiencies ranging from 74 to 83% for 0.61 m/s (120 fpm), 39%-43% for 2.0 m/s (400 fpm), and 6%-16% for 4.3 m/s (850 fpm). Incorporating an airflow spoiler to the shuttle car CAC design and placing the CAC so that it is located 22.86 cm (9 in.) forward of the operator improved the dust control efficiency to 51%-55% for 4.3 m/s (850 fpm) with minimal impact on dust control efficiencies for lower ventilation velocities. These laboratory tests demonstrate that the newly developed shuttle car CAC has the potential to successfully protect shuttle car operators from coal mine respirable dust overexposures.展开更多
This paper proposes a novel collision post structure designed to improve the crashworthiness of subway cab cars.The structure provides two innovative features:1)a simpler connection between the post and the car roof,w...This paper proposes a novel collision post structure designed to improve the crashworthiness of subway cab cars.The structure provides two innovative features:1)a simpler connection between the post and the car roof,which gives a more reasonable load transfer path to reduce the stress concentration at the joint;and 2)a stiffness induction design that provides an ideal deformation model to protect the safe space of the cab cars.The novel collision post structure was evaluated with finite element analysis,and a prototype cab car was mechanically tested.The results demonstrate that the deformation response was stable and agreed well with the expected ideal mode.The maximum load was 874.17 kN and the responses remained well above the elastic design load of 334 kN as required by the design specification.In addition,there was no significant tearing failure during the whole test process.Therefore,the novel collision post structure proposed has met the requirements specified in new standard to improve the crashworthiness of subway cab cars.Finally,the energy absorption efficiency and light weight design highlights were also summarized and discussed.展开更多

By using the historical traffic data collected from the detectors in Beijing expressways, a specically designed database was developed via the processes including data filtering, wavelet analysis and clustering. The relativity based weighted Euclidean distance was used as the distance metric to identify the K groups of nearest data series. Then, a K-NN nonparametric regression model was built to predict the average travel speeds up to 6 min into the future. Several randomly selected travel speed data series, collected from the floating car data (FCD) system, were used to validate the model. The results indicate that using the FCD, the model can predict average travel speeds with an accuracy of above 90%, and hence is feasible and effective.展开更多

In this study, the data collected by TRANSMIT readers, Bluetooth sensors, and INRIX are assessed by comparing each to the "ground truth" travel times collected by probe vehicles carrying GPS-based naviga- tion devices. Travel times of probe vehicles traveling on the study segment of 1-287 in New Jersey were collected in 2009. Statistical measures, such as standard deviation, average absolute speed error, and speed error bias, were used to make an in-depth analysis. The accuracy of each travel time estimation method is analyzed. The data collected by Bluetooth sensors and the TRANSMIT readers seem more consistent with the ground true data, and slightly outperform the data reported by 1NRIX. This study established a procedure for analyzing the accuracy of floating car data (FCD) collected by different technologies.展开更多

We first analyzed the spatial distributions o...Using data from the Economic Advisory Center of the State Information Center(SIC), we examined the spatial patterns of car sales in China at the prefectural level in 2012. We first analyzed the spatial distributions of car sales of different kinds of automakers(foreign automakers, Sino-foreign joint automakers, and Chinese automakers), and then identified spatial clusters using the local Moran's indexes. Location quotient analysis was applied to examine the relative advantage of each type of automaker in the local markets. To explain the variations of car sales across cities, we collected several socioeconomic variables and conducted regression analyses. Further, factor analysis was used to extract independent variables to avoid the problem of multicollinearity. By incorporating a spatial lag or spatial error in the models, we calibrated our spatial regression models to address the spatial dependence problem. The analytical results show that car sales varied significantly across cities in China, and most of the cities with higher car sales were the developed cities. Different automakers exhibit diverse spatial patterns in terms of car sales volume, spatial clusters, and location quotients. The scale and incomes factor were extracted and verified as the two most significant and positive factors that shape the spatial distributions of car sales, and together with the spatial effect, explained most of the variations of car sales across cities.展开更多
It is well recognized that one cause of chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is alcohol consumption.Research in Italy and the United States concludes that the most common cause of HCC(responsible for...It is well recognized that one cause of chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is alcohol consumption.Research in Italy and the United States concludes that the most common cause of HCC(responsible for 32%to 45%of HCC)is alcohol.It has recently been shown that a significant relationship between alcohol intake,metabolic changes,and hepatitis virus infection does exist.Alcohol may be a factor in the development of HCC via direct(genotoxic)and indirect mechanisms(cirrhosis).There is only one way of diagnosing HCC,which is early identification through surveillance,when curative treatments become possible.After stopping alcohol intake the risk of liver cancer decreases by 6%to 7%a year,and an estimated time period of 23 years is also needed.Therefore,surveillance is also important in former drinkers and,in our opinion,independently from the presence of compensated cirrhosis.In cases of very early stage(VES)and early stage with portal hypertension,liver transplantation is the optimal option;and in cases of associated disease,percutaneous ethanol injections,radiofrequency and microwave ablation are the ideal treatments.Despite the possibility of detecting microvascular invasion with HR,several studies and some randomized controlled trials revealed that overall survival and DSF rates in patients with VES HCC are much the same after ablation and HR.Therefore,ablation can be regarded as a firstline choice for patients with VES HCC.It is important to emphasize that the choice of treatment should be weighed carefully in the context of a multidisciplinary cancer team.展开更多
Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the fifth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Although the prognosis of patients with HCC is generally poor, the5-year survival rate is ...Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the fifth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Although the prognosis of patients with HCC is generally poor, the5-year survival rate is > 70% if patients are diagnosed at an early stage. However, early diagnosis of HCC is complicated by the coexistence of inflammation and cirrhosis. Thus, novel biomarkers for the early diagnosis of HCC are required. Currently, the diagnosis of HCC without pathological correlation is achieved by analyzing serum α.fetoprotein levels combined with imaging techniques. Advances in genomics and proteomics platforms and biomarker assay techniques over the last decade have resulted in the identification of numerous novel biomarkers and have improved the diagnosis of HCC. The most promising biomarkers,such as glypican-3, osteopontin, Golgi protein-73 and nucleic acids including microRNAs, are most likely to become clinically validated in the near future. These biomarkers are not only useful for early diagnosis of HCC, but also provide insight into the mechanisms driving oncogenesis. In addition, such molecular insight creates the basis for the development of potentially more effective treatment strategies. In this article,we provide an overview of the biomarkers that are currently used for the early diagnosis of HCC.展开更多

A 64-year-old man was originally found poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of right l...Lung cancer is a common malignancy in the world; however symptomatic colonic metastasis from primary lung cancer is rare. A 64-year-old man was originally found poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of right lung and received right lower lobectomy and lymph node dissection. Three years later, the patient presented to our emergency room with the symptom of upper abdominal pain and weight loss. Abdominal palpation and computed tomography scan of the abdomen revealed a large mass measuring 7.6 cm × 8.5 cm in the ascending colon. Colonoscopy and biopsy revealed poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma with similar morphological pattern to that of the previous lung cancer. Chemotherapy was given and the patient died 5 mo later. Lung cancer metastatic to the colon confers a poor prognosis: overall survival ranged from 5 wk to 1 year, with a median survival of 3 mo after the diagnosis of the colonic metastasis.展开更多

文摘It is well recognized that one cause of chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is alcohol consumption.Research in Italy and the United States concludes that the most common cause of HCC(responsible for 32%to 45%of HCC)is alcohol.It has recently been shown that a significant relationship between alcohol intake,metabolic changes,and hepatitis virus infection does exist.Alcohol may be a factor in the development of HCC via direct(genotoxic)and indirect mechanisms(cirrhosis).There is only one way of diagnosing HCC,which is early identification through surveillance,when curative treatments become possible.After stopping alcohol intake the risk of liver cancer decreases by 6%to 7%a year,and an estimated time period of 23 years is also needed.Therefore,surveillance is also important in former drinkers and,in our opinion,independently from the presence of compensated cirrhosis.In cases of very early stage(VES)and early stage with portal hypertension,liver transplantation is the optimal option;and in cases of associated disease,percutaneous ethanol injections,radiofrequency and microwave ablation are the ideal treatments.Despite the possibility of detecting microvascular invasion with HR,several studies and some randomized controlled trials revealed that overall survival and DSF rates in patients with VES HCC are much the same after ablation and HR.Therefore,ablation can be regarded as a firstline choice for patients with VES HCC.It is important to emphasize that the choice of treatment should be weighed carefully in the context of a multidisciplinary cancer team.
文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the fifth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Although the prognosis of patients with HCC is generally poor, the5-year survival rate is > 70% if patients are diagnosed at an early stage. However, early diagnosis of HCC is complicated by the coexistence of inflammation and cirrhosis. Thus, novel biomarkers for the early diagnosis of HCC are required. Currently, the diagnosis of HCC without pathological correlation is achieved by analyzing serum α.fetoprotein levels combined with imaging techniques. Advances in genomics and proteomics platforms and biomarker assay techniques over the last decade have resulted in the identification of numerous novel biomarkers and have improved the diagnosis of HCC. The most promising biomarkers,such as glypican-3, osteopontin, Golgi protein-73 and nucleic acids including microRNAs, are most likely to become clinically validated in the near future. These biomarkers are not only useful for early diagnosis of HCC, but also provide insight into the mechanisms driving oncogenesis. In addition, such molecular insight creates the basis for the development of potentially more effective treatment strategies. In this article,we provide an overview of the biomarkers that are currently used for the early diagnosis of HCC.

文摘Lung cancer is a common malignancy in the world; however symptomatic colonic metastasis from primary lung cancer is rare. A 64-year-old man was originally found poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of right lung and received right lower lobectomy and lymph node dissection. Three years later, the patient presented to our emergency room with the symptom of upper abdominal pain and weight loss. Abdominal palpation and computed tomography scan of the abdomen revealed a large mass measuring 7.6 cm × 8.5 cm in the ascending colon. Colonoscopy and biopsy revealed poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma with similar morphological pattern to that of the previous lung cancer. Chemotherapy was given and the patient died 5 mo later. Lung cancer metastatic to the colon confers a poor prognosis: overall survival ranged from 5 wk to 1 year, with a median survival of 3 mo after the diagnosis of the colonic metastasis.
