There are two anatomically and functionally distinct dopaminergic projections connecting the midbrain to striatum: nigrostriatal, whichcontrols movement, and mesolimbic, which regulates motivation. However, how these discrete dopaminergic synaptic connections are established is unknown. Through an unbiased search, we identify that two groups of antagonistic TGF-β family members, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)6/BMP2 and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β2, regulate dopaminergic synapse development of nigrostriatal and mesolimbic neurons, respectively. Projection-preferential expression of their receptors contributes to specific synapse development. Downstream, Smad1 and Smad2 are specifically activated and required for dopaminergic synapse development and function in nigrostriatal vs. mesolimbic projections. Remarkably, Smad1 mutant mice show motor defects, whereas Smad2 mutant mice show lack of motivation. These results uncover the molecular logic underlying the proper establishment of functionally segregated dopaminergic synapses and may provide strategies to treat relevant, projection-specific disease symptoms by targeting specific BMPs/TGF-β and/or Smads.展开更多

The glutathione peroxidase(GPX) activity, glutathione(GSH), superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity increased and malondialdehyde(MDA) levels decreased significantly(P〈0.05) in the intestine, hepatopancreas, plasma and muscles. The plasma complement-3(C3) and complement-4(C4) levels were significantly(P〈0.05) improved at 5.0 g · kg-1 level and decreased when over 7.5 g · kg-1. The plasma lysozyme(LSZ) activity increased significantly(P〈0.05) at 7.5, 10.0, or 15.0 g · kg-1 level. In summary, the results showed that Aln-Gln improved growth performance, development and function of the intestine, the activity of the antioxidant defense system and the plasma non-specific immunity of the carps. The optimal Aln-Gln level was 8.24 g · kg-1 diet for WGR based on broken-line regression model analysis.展开更多

Three size groups of shrimp, i.e., the small size group [Gs, with an average body length (BL) of (3.04 ± 0.36) cm and body weight (BW) (0.412± 0.35) g], the large group [GL, with a BL of (4.29±0.55) cm and BW of (1.098 ±0.42) g], and the ungraded group [Gm, with a BL of (3.47±0.81) cm and BW of (0.611 ±0.79) g], were reared under the same conditions for 8 wk. Growth performance and non- specific immunity factors were measured. The results showed that BW gain, biomass gain and the specific growth rate of body length (SGRL) were significantly influenced by size grading (one-way ANOVA, P 〈 0.05). The peroxidase (POD) and antibacterial (Ua) activities of GL were lower than those of G. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and lysozyme (U1) activities of Gm were lower than those of G. No significant difference (P = 0.121 〉 0.05) was found on phenoloxidase (PO) activity among the three size groups. Synthetically, size grading could enhance growth and rearing efficiency, and did not have a significant influence on the immunity of L. vannamei Boone. Therefore, graded fanning in L. vannamei Boone was feasible in the culture practice.展开更多

Cyrtomiumfortunei, prescription I and prescription II were orally given to 15 fishes for each experimental group once a day, with the concentration of 9,175 and 36 g/S0 kg body weight, respectively. The administration was lasted for 14 days. Meanwhile, distilled water was orally given as the control. After the experiment, some of the experimental fishes were stimulated with high temperature (30 ℃ ) for two hours. Sampling was performed from fishes treated at 22 ℃ and 30 ℃ for measuring the protein content in the serum, phagocytic activity of leucocytes and the activity of the lysozyme in six tissues. The results indicated that Cyrtomiumfortunei and prescription II could help to enhance the content of various proteins and the phagocytic activity of leucocytes. There was no significant change in the effects between these two additives at either the normal temperature or high temperature. Prescription I did not show an obvious effect on the immunity of fishes at the normal temperature, but it did in promo- ting high-efficiency response and improving immunoregulation of fish shocked by some stimuli.展开更多

In this work, we propose a convenient look-up-table-based (LUT-based) method to compensate for the non-linear error in captured fringe patterns. Without extra calibration, this LUT-based method completely utilizes the captured fringe pattern by recording the full-field differences. Then, a phase compensation map is established to revise the measured phase. Experimental results demonstrate that this method works effectively.展开更多

The activi- ty of T-AOC and total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD) of fish exposed to ammonia-N were initially decreasing then increasing ( P 〈 0.05 ). Activities of catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) were correlated with concentrations of ammonia-N. Fish exposed to lower concentrations (2.5 mg/L or 5 mg/L) showed decreased CAT activity within 24 h (P 〈 0.05 ), while those exposed to higher concentrations (10 mg/L or 20 mg/L) initially showed increased then decreased activity of CAT. Except for the highest concentration groups, fish exposed to ammonia-N showed inductive activity of GSH-Px ( P 〈 0.05 ). Under the ex- perimental conditions, non-specific immunity of tilapia was affected by ammonia-N stress, and the impact was increased with increased concentration and extension of time.展开更多

The balance equation between water vapor and airborne liquid water is derived. From the balance equation, a new formula of precipitate rate is got. The analysis shows that in the air stream with some upward vertical velocity ( ), the condensed liquid water can precipitate under the condition with (q is specific humidity) and? only, otherwise it is detained in the air and becomes airborne liquid water. Not only does precipitating liquid water contain condensed liquid water, but also contains converged and existing airborne liquid water. Following above discussion, improved dynamic equations on non-uniform saturated moist atmosphere are provided.展开更多

Beck, J. Metals, N. Y. 8, 265 (1959)] with Tc = 9K, are prepared by arc melting. The values of ac susceptibility and the low-temperature specific heat of these alloys are measured. It is found that there are two superconducting phases coexisting in the samples with Tc1 ≈ 9 K and Tc2 ≈ 7K, which are both non-centrosymmetric in structure as reported previously. By analysing the specific heat data measured in various magnetic fields down to a temperature of 1.8 K, we find that the absence of the inversion symmetry does not lead to an obvious deviation from an s-wave pairing symmetry in Re3W.展开更多

Vertical Ground Reaction Forces (VGRF) acquired from underneath the heel and toes of both feet are processed and analyzed for that endeavor. The subjects underwent three levels of tasks: 1) Single task: Walking at self-selected-speed (MS), 2) Dual task: Walking while performing a verbal fluency task (MF) and 3) Complex Dual task: Walking while counting backwards (MD).The ultimate objective of our research is fall prediction among the elderly by characterizing the variation of time-domain feature of Gait signals. For that, walking VGRF is analyzed and tested for the existence of indicators of the effect of dual task on subject falling susceptibility, whether parametric or pattern-wise analysis. As a result to our work, dual task in Fallers VGRF signals were recognized at 74% while at those non-fallers were recognized at 85%. Most importantly, subjects with history of fall have shown more potential to change the way they walk while performing mathematical cognitive task.展开更多

It is also an inherent part of patients’ self-administered pain treatment. This review aims to update the evidence for thermal therapy treatments in non-specific chronic low back pain patients and to rate the methodological quality of the corresponding clinical trials. Previous studies have reported contradictory evidence for the effectiveness of thermal therapy. An electronic search on MEDLINE (PubMed), PEDro, CENTRAL and CINHAL databases was conducted between May 2016 and February 2018. Clinical trials comparing local thermal therapy to conservative or no treatment were assessed for eligibility. Pain, physical function and global health were defined as outcome parameters. A total of n = 9 studies met the inclusion criteria. All of them applied an electrophysical agent as the thermal treatment: continuous ultrasound (n = 6), short-wave diathermy (n = 2), microwave diathermy (n = 1). Out of the n = 6 studies on ultrasound treatment, n = 2 reported significant within and between-group results for pain reduction after 4 to 6 weeks of treatment. Both short-wave diathermy studies demonstrated significant between-group results for pain reduction after 3 weeks of treatment. Contradictory results for all other observed outcome parameters were reported regardless of the intervention. Moreover, significant within-group results for the control groups questioned the effectiveness of the intervention treatments. Therefore, the effect of thermal therapy, (electrophysical agents), is not superior to any control treatment except for ultrasound treatment on short-term pain reduction.展开更多

A numberstudies using mouse models have addressed how PTPN22 predisposes to T1D. PTPN22 downmodulation, overexpression or expression of the variant gene in genetically manipulated mice has generated controversial results. These discrepancies probably derive from the fact that PTPN22 has differential effects on innate and adaptive immune responses. Moreover, the effects of PTPN22 are dependent on other genetic variables. Here we discuss these findings and try to explain the discrepancies. Exploring the mechanism by which PTPN22 contributes to islet-specific autoimmunity could help us understand its role in T1D pathogenesis and exploit it as a potential therapeutic target to prevent the disease.展开更多

Based on Lyapunov stability theory, several nonlinear controllers are applied to achieve the projective synchronisation between the drive-response dynamical networks; simultaneously the topological structure of the drive dynamical complex networks can be exactly identified. Moreover, numerical examples are presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the theorems.展开更多

The origin of such rotation is the balance of the angular momenta of stars and that of positive and negative charged e-trino pairs, within a 3D ⊗1D?void of the stellar object, the existence of which is based on conservation/parity laws in physics if one starts with homogeneous 5D universe. While the in-phase e-trino pairs are proposed to be responsible for the generation of angular momentum, the anti-phase but oppositely charge pairs necessarily produce currents. In the 5D to 4D projection, one space variable in the 5D manifold was compacted to zero in most other 5D theories (including theories of Kaluza-Klein and Einstein [3] [4]). We have demonstrated, using the Fermat’s Last Theorem [5], that for validity of gauge invariance at the 4D-5D boundary, the 4th space variable in the 5D manifold is mapped into two current rings at both magnetic poles as required by Perelman entropy mapping;these loops are the origin of the dipolar magnetic field. One conclusion we draw is that there is no gravitational singularity, and hence no black holes in the universe, a result strongly supported by the recent discovery of many stars with masses well greater than 100 solar mass [6] [7] [8], without trace of phenomena observed (such as strong gamma and X ray emissions), which are supposed to be associated with black holes. We analyze the properties of such loop currents on the 4D-5D boundary, where Maxwell equations are valid. We derive explicit expressions for the dipolar fields over the whole temperature range. We then compare our prediction with measured surface magnetic fields of many stars. Since there is coupling in distribution between the in-phase and anti-phase pairs of e-trinos, the generated mag-netic field is directly related to the angular momentum, leading to the result that the magnetic field can be expressible in terms of only the mechanical variables (mass M, radius R, rotation period P)of a star, as if Maxwell equations are “hidden”. An explanation for the occurrence of this “un-expected result” is provided in Section (7.6). Therefore we provide satisfactory answers to a number of “mysteries” of magnetism in astrophysics such as the “Magnetic Bode’s Relation/Law” [9] and the experimental finding that B-P graph in the log-log plot is linear. Moreover, we have developed a new method for studying the relations among the data (M, R, P) during stellar evolution. Ten groups of stellar objects, effectively over 2000 samples are used in various parts of the analysis. We also explain the emergence of huge magnetic field in very old stars like White Dwarfs in terms of formation of 2D Semion state on stellar surface and release of magnetic flux as magnetic storms upon changing the 2D state back to 3D structure. Moreover, we provide an explanation, on the ground of the 5D theory, for the detection of extremely weak fields in Venus and Mars and the asymmetric distribution of magnetic field on the Martian surface. We predict the equatorial fields B of the newly discovered Trappist-1 star and the 6 nearest planets. The log B?−?log P graph for the 6 planets is linear and they satisfy the Magnetic Bode’s relation. Based on the above analysis, we have discovered several new laws of stellar magnetism, which are summarized in Section (7.6).展开更多

文摘The study aims to determine the effects of graded farming on growth performance and non-specific immunity factors of shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei Boone. Therefore, graded fanning in L. vannamei Boone was feasible in the culture practice.

文摘This study was to investigate the effects of aqueous decotion from three Chinese medicinal herb additives ( Cyrtomium fortunei, prescription I and prescription II) on non-specific immunity of 1 + age old Amur sturgeon (Acipenser schrencki Brandt) by oral perfusion. Prescription I did not show an obvious effect on the immunity of fishes at the normal temperature, but it did in promo- ting high-efficiency response and improving immunoregulation of fish shocked by some stimuli.

文摘Although the structured light system that uses digital fringe projection has been widely implemented in three-dimensional surface profile measurement, the measurement system is susceptible to non-linear error. Experimental results demonstrate that this method works effectively.

文摘The juveniles of hybrid tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus x Oreochromis areus) were exposed to ananonia-nitrogen (N) (0, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 mg/L) for 0, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h to evaluate the effect of ammonia-N stress on their non-specific immunity. Results show that the activity of serum lysozyme decreased signifi- candy with extension of stress time (P 〈 0.05). The total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and activity of antioxidase in liver were significantly affected. Under the ex- perimental conditions, non-specific immunity of tilapia was affected by ammonia-N stress, and the impact was increased with increased concentration and extension of time.
文摘To eliminate the irrational supposition that condensed liquid water always falls immediately, specific water m?and maximum airborne specific water mm are introduced into the dynamic framework on non-uniform saturated moist atmosphere (m?is the ratio of the airborne liquid water mass to the moist air mass in unit cubage moist air, mm is its maximum value with , , and are airborne coefficient, vertical velocity and saturated specific humidity respectively). Following above discussion, improved dynamic equations on non-uniform saturated moist atmosphere are provided.

文摘The alloys of non-centrosymmetric superconductor, Re3W, which were reported to have an ^-Mn structure [P. Greenfield and P. A. Beck, J. Metals, N. By analysing the specific heat data measured in various magnetic fields down to a temperature of 1.8 K, we find that the absence of the inversion symmetry does not lead to an obvious deviation from an s-wave pairing symmetry in Re3W.
文摘In this paper, a comparative analysis of walking patterns during different cognitive states is conducted, followed by the classification of our database into Fallers and Non-fallers;by Fallers we describe subjects with repeated falling history. Most importantly, subjects with history of fall have shown more potential to change the way they walk while performing mathematical cognitive task.
文摘Thermal therapy is frequently used as an adjunct to treatment in patients suffering from chronic low back pain. Therefore, the effect of thermal therapy, (electrophysical agents), is not superior to any control treatment except for ultrasound treatment on short-term pain reduction.
文摘An allelic variant of the protein tyrosin phosphatase non-receptor 22(PTPN22) gene, PTPN22 R620 W, constitutes the strongest non-HLA genetic risk factor for the development of type 1 diabetes(T1D). Exploring the mechanism by which PTPN22 contributes to islet-specific autoimmunity could help us understand its role in T1D pathogenesis and exploit it as a potential therapeutic target to prevent the disease.

文摘A projected subgradient method for solving a class of set-valued mixed variational inequalities (SMVIs) is proposed when the mapping is not necessarily Lipschitz. Under some suitable conditions, it can be proven that the sequence generated by the method can strongly converge to the unique solution to the problem in the Hilbert spaces.

文摘This paper first investigates the projective synchronisation problem with non-delayed and delayed coupling between drive-response dynamical networks consisting of identical nodes and different nodes. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, several nonlinear controllers are applied to achieve the projective synchronisation between the drive-response dynamical networks; simultaneously the topological structure of the drive dynamical complex networks can be exactly identified. Moreover, numerical examples are presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the theorems.

文摘Beginning with a 5D homogeneous universe [1], we have provided a plausible explanation of the self-rotation phenomenon of stellar objects previously with illustration of large number of star samples [2], via a 5D-4D projection. Based on the above analysis, we have discovered several new laws of stellar magnetism, which are summarized in Section (7.6).
