Survey and Countermeasures on Current Situation of Life Education for College Students in Local Normal Colleges and Universities

Life education is the precondition of all education.This paper explored the current situation of life education for college students in local normal colleges and universities through questionnaire survey,and traced the history of life education in the world and China.Combined with history and reality,it analyzed the current problems of life education for college students mainly in three aspects,namely,the lack of connectivity in the educational process,the excessive productization of education,and the fragmentation of life education.Finally,it came up with pertinent recommendations in line with these problems.

Teachers Are Key Factors of Universities Peking Female Higher Normal College 1917-1922

The successful experiences that cause Peking Female Higher Normal College （PKFHNC） to complete a relatively large scale of talents training task and become the birthplace of modern female intellectuals in early 20th century China in spite of disorder of social circumstance outside and regular educational system inside are as follows. First, with the endeavor of Chen Zhongfan, Dean of Chinese Department, PKFHNC gathered lots of leading scholars both from old school and new school during May Fourth Movement; second, these leading scholars＇ diversified academic thoughts, political ideas, and educational experiences encouraged students to think freely and critically; finally, their deep concerns about the future of China society, academic disciplines, and women＇s liberation and education caused all superficial changes and differences of PKFHNC to form an united spiritual power, which promoted this group of female students＇ development deeply.

The preliminary research on the administrative personnel assessment scheme of modern international demonstration college

Objective and fair annual performance evaluation is an important means to improve the work efficiency of university administrators. Compared with the annual performance evaluation of college full-time teachers, the annual performance appraisal methods of the administrators are lagging behind. Explore the evaluation system of university administrative staff annual performance effective, to stimulate their enthusiasm, to create a lean, efficient administrative staff, is conducive to the normal development of university teaching and research management, security management of student work and good operation. With the development of higher vocational education in a step by step, the higher vocational colleges have to change the assessment strategies in such a competitive situation, think in the same rise above the common herd in higher vocational colleges, establish a brand in the competition, to strengthen the image in the brand, to gain greater competitive advantage, higher vocational colleges must strengthen the university administrative performance appraisal management.

The Synergized Quality Improvement Program in Teacher Education:A Policy for Improving the Quality of China's Rural Teachers

Purpose This study elucidates the rationale,implementation,values,and challenges of the Synergized Quality Improvement Program in Teacher Education(SQIPTE)—the first policy specifically dedicated to the development of teaching staff since the founding of the People's Republic of China.Design/Approach/Methods After introducing the primary structure and rationale of the SQIPTE,this study reviews the existing data and research to explain why the program focuses on local normal colleges and determine how it could be implemented more effectively.Findings In establishing group-based assistance under the principle of“1+M+N”(M≥N),the SQIPTE seeks to make normal colleges the primary force in the education of rural teachers and explores a collaborative operating mechanism to this end.Evidence suggests that this innovative program will provide new practical experience for the collaborative development and quality improvement of teachers.Originality/Value This study reviews the SQIPTE as a new Chinese intervention to improve the quality of rural teachers.There is strong evidence to suggest that this innovative program will inspire the construction of collaborative operating mechanisms incorporating multiple resources for teacher education systems across different areas.

On the Genesis of Zhongshu Qian’s Fortress Besieged

Significant portions of Zhongshu Qian’s classic twentieth century novel,Fortress Besieged,are closely correlated with Hunan.This article explores the connections between the novel and Qian’s experiences in National Hunan Normal College(NHNC),later to become Hunan Normal University(HNNU).More than one third of Fortress Besieged describes the experiences of its main character,Hongjang Fang,at the fictional SanlüUniversity.This article argues that Qian’s time at NHNC had formative impact on Fortress Besieged,in which four pivotal chapters are fictionalized versions of his actual encounters in Hunan.Drawing on archival documents,this article analyzes the novel to determine the relative levels of historical veracity versus imaginative recreations.The ultimate goal is to demonstrate where depictions are realistic or fantastic,and the ways in which Fortress Besieged and NHNC become mutually constitutive reflections of each other.
