The purpose of this study is to examine how daylight exposure affects the health and well-being of office workers.Sleep actigraphy and health and well-being related survey data were the main dependent variables in thi...The purpose of this study is to examine how daylight exposure affects the health and well-being of office workers.Sleep actigraphy and health and well-being related survey data were the main dependent variables in this study.Research samples were composed of participants from the United States and South Korea,each set of workers divided into those having daylight at their workplaces and those without.Fifty participants in total wore for two weeks actiwatches equipped with light sensors to measure sleep quality and exposure to ambient light levels.Additional health and well-being measurements were taken using well established survey instruments such as the SF-36 for general and mental health,and the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)for sleep.In order to estimate the levels of daylight participants were exposed to,computer simulation was used to generate the total annual daylight levels in each participant’s office.Our results seem to indicate that working in daylit office spaces would lead to higher sleep quality and higher scores of the health and well-being scales compared to those who do not work under daylight conditions.Our findings indicate that it is important to provide and maintain significant daylight levels at the workplace.Consequently,in terms of architectural design,building orientation,building dimensions,and the size and height of windows should be taken into consideration to optimize or maximize daylight exposure.展开更多

BACKGROUND The working environment of submarine crews is also very special.They are in a closed,high-temperature,high-noise,high-vibration and narrow working and living space for a long time,and they suffer from physi...BACKGROUND The working environment of submarine crews is also very special.They are in a closed,high-temperature,high-noise,high-vibration and narrow working and living space for a long time,and they suffer from physical discomfort caused by seasickness,which will affect the mental health of officers and soldiers.American psychologists have achieved positive results in psychological resilience training for officers and soldiers from the perspective of positive psychology.At present,there are few reports on the correlation between psychological resilience in the field of domestic research on submarine crew psychology,and it is necessary to conduct further research.METHODS A total of 121 soldiers working in a confined space of a large ship were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group.The 50 soldiers in the experimental group were given a training course intervention,while the 71 soldiers in the control group did not receive any intervention measures.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index,Psychological Resilience Scale,military Psycho-logical Stress Self-Assessment Questionnaire,and General Self-Efficacy Scale scores were compared before and 6 months after the intervention.RESULTS Under the positive psychological control intervention,except for sleep efficiency(P=0.05),the difference between the remaining dimensions of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores and the total scores of the experimental group compared with the control group was statistically significant(P<0.05);the assessment of the psychological condition showed that,in addition to the Psychological Stress Self-assessment Questionnaire for Military Personnel scores(P=0.05),the scores of the Mental Toughness Scale(Dispositional Resilience Scale Resilience II)in the experimental group,General Self-Efficacy Scale scores were statistically significant(P<0.05)compared to pre-intervention.CONCLUSION Positive psychological intervention and control can improve the sleep state and psychological state of officers and soldiers working in confined space at sea.展开更多

The method assists managers in formulating efficient strategies for implementing management measures and enhancing the effectiveness of production, sales, financial, and people organization structure management. This ultimately leads to a more evidence-based approach to corporate management. This technique expands the utilization of Web services from a strategy focused on integrating services to a comprehensive framework for Service-Oriented Computing (SOC). The primary focus is implementing WS-session to manage sessions in general Web services applications, defining a bidirectional entire duplex interface for communication in Web services, and developing the Web Services Initiation Protocol, presenting WIP, a thorough multimedia and voice communication framework constructed using Web services and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). The office automation management system, created utilizing ASP.net and SQL Server technology, encompasses the evaluation of viability, analysis of needs, and system design. Office automation refers to using equipment with computing capabilities to carry out various office tasks and utilize associated tools and applications. Office automation uses computer-based systems to collect, organize, and modify visual and auditory information to enhance business energy efficiency and time management. Office automation refers to auto-mating essential tasks employees perform, including identification, automatic appointment reminders, and automatic power management for personal computers.
