The investigation confirmed that there is a superlarge por...Recently, a number of large molybdenum (-copper) deposits have been discovered successively in the Laba area, Shangri-La county, northwestern Yunnan province. The investigation confirmed that there is a superlarge porphyry-skarn hydrothermal vein type molybdenum-polymetallic- metallogenic system with the total prediction reservoir of more than 150 mt molybdenum. The porphyry intrusions contributed to the mineralization closely, the superficial little vein molybdenum (-copper, lead, silver) ore-bodies are usually located in faults and fractures, and the deep porphyry type ore-bodies occurred in the granodiorite porphyries, the skarn type ore-bodies occurred in the contact zone intrused into Triassic limestone or Permian basalts. Laba ore block is a new exploration area with great prospecting potential. In order to reduce the target area and guide the further exploration work, the magnetic method measurement about 3.3 square kilometres was carried out in the ore field. This paper presents an application of analyzing the horizontal and vertical derivative, using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) filter (FFT high-pass, low-pass, cosine roll-off, suscepbility), calculated spectra frequency energy to predict the depth and intensity of the apparent remanence magnetization of source (Hilbert). The calculated results and magnetic anomalous show that the remanence anomaly is caused by the intrusions into the Triassic limestone and Permian basalts with small anomalies, and the depth of located source is not great. We have identified a number of positions to the three drilled well, the drilled result specify interpretation with very high accuracy. The magnetic method is helpful to identify porphyry mineralization, and judge the shape and depth of the concealed ore-bearing intrusive bodies under the similar geological condition.展开更多

Yet high densities in some Mesozoic sedimentary rocks just above the basement may smear out the subtle gravity signatures of basement faults. At this study the gravity data processing tends to avoid ill-described “black-box” techniques. The study area is situated in the Palomas site, Cuatrociénegas region, Coahuila, NE Mexico. The San Marcos Fault is at least 300 km long and has WNW-ESE trend from the central part of Nuevo León State through Coahuila, and finally to the eastern part of Chihuahua State. Gravimetric data shows that the lowest values of free air and Bouguer anomalies are in the southern part of the area, and the highest values are in the western and central part of the area. Between these parts exists a zone of high horizontal gravity gradient. Configuration of linear elements of gravity field (gradient zones) delimited the San Marcos Fault in the San Marcos valley below thickness of recent sedimentary cover. Two density models were carried out, which showed that the Cretaceous rocks are in discordant contact with the Paleo- zoic rocks that can be related to the San Marcos Fault. The density was determinate using to Nettleton’s method, which results highlight the presence of the San Marcos Fault. Density models showed that the Quaternary sediments are in direct contact with the San Marcos Fault.展开更多
In crosswell observation of electromagnetic tomography, now there is no feasible way to calibrate the in situ radiation constant, while the effect of induced wave field always exists in observational data. Therefor...In crosswell observation of electromagnetic tomography, now there is no feasible way to calibrate the in situ radiation constant, while the effect of induced wave field always exists in observational data. Therefore the absorption coefficient obtained by a common used image reconstruction method is only a relative value. The consistency of tomograms in linked profiles inevitably is affected seriously. An improved equation involving the effect of induced wave field and an alternative tracing method to calculate the in situ radiation constant is proposed in the present paper. Based on the results from a series of parameter calibration performed in water and the experiments with rock samples, the standard meter readings of borehole electromagnetic systems, types EW—1 and JWQ—3, are accurately defined here. Additionally, frequency reduction and boundary smoothing of linked profiles are discussed. In research on groundwater prospecting in Tanggongta, Inner Mongolia, we used the above mentioned method and obtained the tomograms of linked profiles with good consistency. The absorption coefficient in the tomogram are not only reasonable and reliable, but also coincided with the result from rock parameter measurement. The depth, extension direction and water bearing structure of two aquifers were well detected. This result correctly guides hydrologic drilling there.展开更多
