The control design, based on self-adaptive PID with genetic algorithms(GA) tuning on-line was investigated, for the temperature control of industrial microwave drying rotary device with the multi-layer(IMDRDWM) and with multivariable nonlinear interaction of microwave and materials. The conventional PID control strategy incorporated with optimization GA was put forward to maintain the optimum drying temperature in order to keep the moisture content below 1%, whose adaptation ability included the cost function of optimization GA according to the output change. Simulations on five different industrial process models and practical temperature process control system for selenium-enriched slag drying intensively by using IMDRDWM were carried out systematically, indicating the reliability and effectiveness of control design. The parameters of proposed control design are all on-line implemented without iterative predictive calculations, and the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed, which makes the developed scheme simpler in its synthesis and application, providing the practical guidelines for the control implementation and the parameter design. 展开更多

An integrated metallurgical model was developed to predict microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of low-carbon steel plates produced by TMCP. The metallurgical phenomena occurring during TMCP and mechanical properties were predicted for different process parameters. In the later passes full recrystallization becomes difficult to occur and higher residual strain remains in austenite after rolling. For the reasonable temperature and cooling schedule, yield strength of 30 mm plain carbon steel plate can reach 310 MPa. The first on-line application of prediction and control of microstructure and properties (PCMP) in the medium plate production was achieved. The predictions of the system are in good agreement with measurements. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To study and establish quality con-trol model of the Salvianolic Acid B by Near In-frared Spectroscopy (NIRS), and to realize on-line quality control of extracting and purifying proc-esses of industrial scale herbal product manu-facturing. METHOD: NIR chromatography was obtained from on-line NIR detection of extract-ing process and purifying process. HPLC analysis was carried out to determine the con-tents of salvianolic acid B. Partial Least Squares Regression (PLS) was used to establish the model between the information between NIRS and HPLC. RESULTS: For extracting model: the optimum Near Infrared (NIR) wavelength range was 9815- 5430cm-1, R=0.9784, RMSEC=0.258;for puri-fying model: the optimum NIR wavelength range was 9815-5430cm-1, R=0.9776, RMSEC=4.02. The average relative error was <5%. CONCLUSION: NIR technique is applicable for on-line quality control in production of salvianolic acid B. 展开更多

The detection system integrates control technology, network technology, video encoding and decoding, video transmiss-ion, multi-single chip microcomputer communication, dat-abase technology, computer software and robot technology. The robot can adaptively adjust its status according to diameter (from 400 mm to 650 mm) of pipeline. The maximum detection distance is up to 1 000 m. The method of video coding in the system is based on fractal transformation. The experiments show that the coding scheme is fast and good PSNR. The precision of on-line detection is up to 3% thickness of pipeline wall. The robot can also have a high precision of location up to 0.03 m. The control method is based on network and characterized by on-line and real-time. The experiment in real gas pipeline shows that the performance of the detection system is good. 展开更多

An optimal PID controller with incomplete derivation is proposed based on fuzzy inference and the geneticalgorithm, which is called the fuzzy-GA PID controller with incomplete derivation. It consists of the off-line part andthe on-line part. In the off-line part, by taking the overshoot, rise time, and settling time of system unit step re-sponse as the performance indexes and by using the genetic algorithm, a group of optimal PID parameters K*p , Ti* ,and Tj are obtained, which are used as the initial values for the on-line tuning of PID parameters. In the on-linepart, based on K; , Ti* , and T*d and according to the current system error e and its time derivative, a dedicatedprogram is written, which is used to optimize and adjust the PID parameters on line through a fuzzy inference mech-anism to ensure that the system response has optimal dynamic and steady-state performance. The controller has beenused to control the D. C. motor of the intelligent bionic artificial leg designed by the authors. The result of computersimulation shows that this kind of optimal PID controller has excellent control performance and robust performance. 展开更多

Product quality and operation cost control obtain increasing emphases in modern chemical system engineering. To improve the fault detection power of the partial least square (PLS) method for quality control, a new QRPV statistic is proposed in terms of the VP (variable importance in projection) indices of monitored process variables, which is significantly advanced over and different from the conventional Q statistic. QRPV is calculated only by the residuals of the remarkable process variables (RPVs). Therefore, it is the dominant relation between quality and RPV not all process variables (as in the case of the conventional PLS) that is monitored by this new VP-PLS (VPLS) method. The combination of QRPV and T2 statistics is applied to the quality and cost control of the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process, and weak faults can be detected as quickly as possible. Consequently, the product quality of TE process is guaranteed and operation costs are reduced. 展开更多

In this paper, the working princip le, overall structure and microcomputer real-time control and data processing s ystem of the system are discussed in detail, the method of double edges scanned large diameter dimension measurement and control is theoretically analyzed, its possibility has been verified by experiments of lathing large diameters machine parts by a vertical lathe. The system adopts the measuring scheme of double edge s laser-scanned combined with grating displacement measurement. The two edges c haracteristic information of the measured diameter is given by the double edges laser-scanned measuring system, the non-contact measurement of large diameter dimension is realized to combine with the grating displacement measuring systems . The main controller gives out feedback control signal by means of measured res ults, and controls advance and retreat of lathe tool by the servo-control syste m of a vertical lathe to realize on-line dynamic non-contact measurement and c ontrol in processing. 展开更多

A model predictive controller was designed in this study for a single supply chain unit.A demand model was described using an autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA) model,one that is identified on-line to forecast the future demand.Feedback was used to modify the demand prediction,and profit was chosen as the control objective.To imitate reality,the purchase price was assumed to be a piecewise linear form,whereby the control objective became a nonlinear problem.In addition,a genetic algorithm was introduced to solve the problem.Constraints were put on the predictive inventory to control the inventory fluctuation,that is,the bullwhip effect was controllable.The model predictive control(MPC) method was compared with the order-up-to-level(OUL) method in simulations.The results revealed that using the MPC method can result in more profit and make the bullwhip effect controllable. 展开更多

As a result, the controller performance is greatly enhanced. Besides the algorithm development, some important factors, such as the influence of reference signal on the controller convergent speed, are also discussed. Traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)possess a rich historical background,unique theoretical framework,remarkable therapeutic efficacy,and abundant resources.However,the modernization and internationalization of TCMs have faced significant obstacles due to their diverse ingredients and unknown mechanisms.To gain deeper insights into the phytochemicals and ensure the quality control of TCMs,there is an urgent need to enhance analytical techniques.Currently,two-dimensional(2D)chromatography,which incorporates two independent separation mechanisms,demonstrates superior separation capabilities compared to the traditional one-dimensional(1D)separation system when analyzing TCMs samples.Over the past decade,new techniques have been continuously developed to gain actionable insights from complex samples.This review presents the recent advancements in the application of multidimensional chromatography for the quality evaluation of TCMs,encompassing 2D-gas chromatography(GC),2D-liquid chromatography(LC),as well as emerging three-dimensional(3D)-GC,3D-LC,and their associated data-processing approaches.These studies highlight the promising potential of multidimensional chromatographic separation for future phytochemical analysis.Nevertheless,the increased separation capability has resulted in higher-order data sets and greater demands for data-processing tools.Considering that multidimensional chromatography is still a relatively nascent research field,further hardware enhancements and the implementation of chemometric methods are necessary to foster its robust development. 展开更多
