Which Neighborhoods Have Easier Access to Online Home Delivery Services?A Spatiotemporal Accessibility Analysis in Nanjing,China

The rise in online home delivery services(OHDS)has had a significant impact on how urban services are supplied and used in recent years.Studies on the spatial accessibility of OHDS are emerging,but few is known about the temporal dimension of OHDS accessibility as well as the geographic and socioeconomic differences in the spatiotemporal accessibility of OHDS.This study measures the spatiotemporal accessibility of four types of OHDS,namely leisure,fresh and convenient,medical,and catering services.The geographic and socioeconomic disparities in the spatiotemporal accessibility of these four types of OHDS are then identified using spatial statistical methods and the Kruskal-Wallis test(K-W test).The case study in Nanjing,China,suggests that:1)spatiotemporal accessibility better reflects the temporal variation of OHDS accessibility and avoids overestimation of OHDS accessibility when only considering its spatial dimension.2)The spatiotemporal accessibility of OHDS varies geographically and socioeconomically.Neighborhoods located in the main city or neighborhoods with higher housing prices,higher population density,and higher point of interest(POI)mix have better OHDS spatiotemporal accessibility.Our study contributes to the understanding of OHDS accessibility from a spatiotemporal perspective,and the empirical insights can assist policymakers in creating intervention plans that take into account variations in OHDS spatiotemporal accessibility. 展开更多

The online car-hailing industry, which provides the right of use, has a certain impact on the traditional automobile market, but there is no unified theory on whether it has a positive impact or a negative impact. Based on 362 consumer questionnaire data, this study builds a structural equation model to discuss the driving factors of residents’ choice of online car-hailing and whether the development of online car-hailing will have a certain substitution impact on the sales of private cars. From the perspective of consumers’ purchase intention, the research results show that consumers’ price consciousness, convenience consciousness, environmental protection consciousness and possession tendency will affect their choice of travel mode, and the use of online car-hailing is positively correlated with consumers’ willingness to replace private car ownership with online car-hailing. 展开更多

At the same time, the online shopping could not be successfully completed without logistics service. Logistics service quality (LSQ) has significant impact on revenue and profitability. This paper presents the issue from the perspective of the customer, and explores the initial factors of LSQ based on the online shopping through in-depth interview and the Delphi method. The survey uses a standard 7-point Likert-type scale to measure the LSQ. Empirical research results are shown in detail to confirm seven LSQ dimensions with Chinese characteristics, including timeliness quality, personal contact quality, order quality, order discrepancy handling, order condition and convenience. Statistical analyses of the investigation were conducted to test the reliability and validity of the LSQ evaluation model. 展开更多

Understanding the characteristics and predicting the popularity of the newly published online videos can provide direct implications in various contexts such as service design, advertisement planning, network management and etc. In this paper, we collect a real-world large-scale dataset from a leading online video service provider in China, namely Youku. We first analyze the dynamics of content publication and content popularity for the online video service. Then, we propose a rich set of features and exploit various effective classification methods to estimate the future popularity level of an individual video in various scenarios. We show that the future popularity level of a video can be predicted even before the video's release, and by introducing the historical popularity information the prediction performance can be improved dramatically. In addition, we investigate the importance of each feature group and each feature in the popularity prediction, and further reveal the factors that may impact the video popularity. We also discuss how the early monitoring period influences the popularity level prediction. Our work provides an insight into the popularity of the newly published online videos, and demonstrates promising practical applications for content publishers,service providers, online advisers and network operators. 展开更多

City networks have been a critical topic in the fields of urban geography and regional economics. Numerous studies have explored city networks, focusing mainly on infrastructure and industrial networks. Unlike traditional urban network of which the major measuring indexes are population sizes and entity industries, online commodity service networks could reflect well the influencing of emerging economies, especially the Internet economy, on city networks. This study analyzes and reveals structural features of China's city networks through online commodity services, providing the internet economic approach on city networks. Results indicate that the core cities of online commodity service networks are mainly concentrated in eastern coastal areas. In addition, spatial polarization and layer structure of network connections are obvious, descending from the centers in eastern China to peripheral cities in central and western China. Online commodity services of different cities show apparent differences and uncertainties in terms of specialization rates of international connection, which presents a tendency toward diversification. Online commodity service networks are not only associated with goods production, supply, and consumption in physical space but also reflect virtual information, capital, and technology flows, thus providing a new empirical approach for understanding city networks in information and internet economic age. 展开更多

The goal is to minimize the makespan. For non-preemptive version, we propose an optimal online al-gorithm with competitive ratio 5/3. In traditional encounters, the research spectrum of service failure and recovery strategies is very much developed from a customer service approach and the responsibility of recovery has been traditionally assumed to be something that is assigned to the marketer. Studies pay little or no attention to the multidimensional nature of service failures contingent to recovery strategies in developing countries. To date, empirical studies have focused on service failures and recovery strategies in developed countries. The purpose of this study was to examine the online service expectations of fans of professional sport. Participants were asked about their online experience and the impact it had on a number of variables, including satisfaction and service quality. Three dimensions regarding the online experience were identified. First, the core product represents the set of items influencing fans' perceptions of the quality of the game; second, the ancillary products characterizing the derivative products related to the game; and finally, the efficiency of support services used to access the core and ancillary products online. The study found that although respondents reported higher expectations of the core product than of the ancillary products, their expectations of support services efficiency were also very high. Understanding fans' specific expectations enables sport organizations to identify and fulfill fans' expectations of their online experience. The study's results are reviewed in the context of previous research and practice to suggest a future research protocol to aid managers' understanding of online fans' expectations and satisfaction with service provided. 展开更多

The online service hall is also a hot spot of information construction in universities in recent years. Taking China University of Geosciences (Beijing) for example, this paper probes into the problems and causes of the current difficulties of teachers and students in complicated school’s business process and puts forward the construction goal and ideas of the online service hall. A four-layer architecture which includes data layer, business service support layer, business service layer and presentation layer for service e-hall is designed and the organization and implementation steps of the online service hall are expounded. In addition, the extended applications such as integrated self-service printing terminal and electronic signature are considered. Effectiveness of online HIV treatment services in the context of the COVID‐19 pandemic

Background:The COVID‐19 pandemic has created challenges with respect to HIV care services.Remote online services might provide an effective method for health service delivery to people living with HIV(PLHIV).Few studies have focused on the efficacy of telemedical services for PLHIV and the effect of antiretroviral treatment via online services in China.Methods:We developed a platform called the“No.8 Health”for online antiretroviral drug collection and delivery services in Beijing from January 21 to June 30,2022.We evaluated the online treatment service according to viral load suppression rates and compared differences in social characteristics between PLHIV who received antiretroviral drugs through online or offline treatment services.Results:By June 2022,9528 PLHIV had received outpatient treatment services,among which 44.6%(4031/9528)used the online treatment and drug delivery services for a total of 5590 person‐times.The satisfaction rate was 100%.Rates of viral load suppression among PLHIV who initiated antiretroviral therapy(ART)in 2020 and 2021 were 96.4%and 93.1%,respectively.Results showed that the viral load suppression rate was 97.9%.Regarding HIV rapid self‐testing,4513 men who have sex with men used the online HIV rapid testing service.The number of users was approximately the same as in 2021,but both were slightly lower than those in 2020.Conclusion:This study was the first to evaluate the effect of online drug collection and delivery services and virologic outcomes among PLHIV in China.The online service helped with maintenance of ART services,but the COVID‐19 pandemic still had some impacts on viral load suppression. 展开更多

This paper analyzes 1,662 travelogues about the Wulong tourism destination from the Mafengwo platform using literature research and network text analysis.The goal is to identify the driving factors affecting Wulong’s tourism service experience and suggest improvements.By extracting high-frequency words and analyzing emotions from the travelogues,tourists’conceptions and perceptions were identified and the factors affecting the tourism service experience in Wulong were summarized into six categories:tourism resource attractions,tourism transportation,tourism facilities and digital services,cultural charms,special cuisines,and environmental ambiance.Tourists’emotional perceptions of Wulong are primarily positive,with negative perceptions mainly related to unsatisfactory tourism facilities and digital services in the Wulong scenic area.This study helps the Wulong tourist destination understand the issues and deficiencies in tourists’service experiences,providing significant guidance for improving service quality and offering data support for service marketing and optimization. 展开更多
