More importantly, the system continuously (with short time intervals), checks for learner identity during the whole exam period to ensure that the learner who started the exam is the same one who continued until the end and prevent the possibility of cheating by looking at adjacent PC or reading from an external paper. The system will issue an early warning to the learners if suspicious behavior has been noticed by the system. The proposed system has been presented to eight e-learning instructors and experts in addition to 32 students to gather feedback and to study the impact and the benefit of such system in e-learning environment.展开更多

This study focuses on the effectiveness of detecting attempts of identity impersonation through face substitution during online exams, with the aim of ensuring the integrity of assessments. The goal is to develop facial recognition algorithms capable of precisely detecting these impersonations, training them on a tailored database rather than biased generic data. An original database of student faces has been created. An algorithm leveraging advanced deep learning techniques such as depthwise separable convolution has been developed and evaluated on this database. We achieved very high levels of precision, reaching an accuracy rate of 98% in face detection and recognition.展开更多

This paper provides an insight into different approaches in facing those challenges which includes conducting a fair online class for students. It is tough for an instructor to keep track of their students at the same time because it is difficult to screen if any of the understudies within the class are not present, mindful, or drowsing. This paper discusses a possible solution, something new that can offer support to instructors seeing things from a more significant point of view. The solution is a facial analysis computer program that can let instructors know which students are attentive and who is not. There’s a green and red square box for face detection, for which Instructors can watch by seeing a green box on those mindful students conjointly, a red box on those who are not mindful at all. This paper finds that the program can automatically give attendance by analyzing data from face detection. It has other features for which the teacher can also know if any student leaves the class early. In this paper, model design, performance analysis, and online class assistant aspects of the program have been discussed.
展开更多

In this study, the subjects are 116 freshmen, non- English majors in Nan Jing Institute of Industry and Technology. Selecting totally 60 students from them and dividing them into two groups according to their scores of College English En-trance Examination. The collected data from questionnaire were analyzed by statistical software SPSS16.0 version. The major findings from the analysis include the following:(i)In the EFL class, high- scored students have a stronger tendency to protect teachers'face than low- scored students while saving their own face.(ii)Positive politeness strategies, such as affirmation and encouragement from teachers, will better protect high- scored students'positive face. (iii)Both of the two groups prefer that their language errors should be corrected indirectly and euphemistically in the EFL class.展开更多

Although many effective methods have been proposed for surveillance re-id in recent years, re-id on robot platform is still a novel unsolved problem. Most existing methods adapt the supervised metric learning offline to improve the accuracy. However, these methods can not adapt to unknown scenes. To solve this problem, an online re-id framework is proposed. Considering that robotics can afford to use high-resolution RGB-D sensors and clear human face may be captured, face information is used to update the metric model. Firstly, the metric model is pre-trained offline using labeled data. Then during the online stage, we use face information to mine incorrect body matching pairs which are collected to update the metric model online. In addition, to make full use of both appearance and skeleton information provided by RGB-D sensors, a novel feature funnel model (FFM) is proposed. Comparison studies show our approach is more effective and adaptable to varying environments.展开更多
