This multiple case study of a contracting firm contributes to understanding the barriers that organizations face during the implementation of building information modeling(BIM)by providing insights into the impact of these barriers across different organizational levels(i.e.,from top management to project teams)and by relating these barriers to different degrees of BIM maturity.First,we observe the dominance of barriers related to the motivation, competence, and time capacity of people across all levels of an organization.Second, the cluster of barriers at the middle-management level highlights the important role of this level in reducing these barriers.Third, only those cases with a low level of BIM maturity have struggled with lack of top management support, thereby highlighting the importance of such support in achieving BIM maturity growth.High BIM maturity situations are more prone to externally oriented barriers in attempting to further leverage the benefits of BIM.Our study provides insights on where to focus BIM implementation measures and how to enhance organizational BIM maturity. 展开更多

Educational institutions implement school information system (IS) solutions for efficient academic processes and improve the student experience, and thus tend to upgrade to new school IS, ceasing the use of old school IS. Extant studies of information system discontinuance are in organizational in general. This study is solely a school organization setting, specifically a thorough understanding of contributing factors that facilitate the intention of school information system (IS) discontinuance. Organizational level IS discontinuance intention OLIDI model was used as a lens and anchored by grounded theory. Semi-Structured interviews were used to collect data from school administrators and users of information system (IS) of Surigao State College of Technology. A qualitative statistics approach and coding of words are used to analyze the intention of IS discontinuance and provide model for school setting IS discontinuance. The findings show that system shortcomings, organizational initiative, environmental change, system investment, and institutional pressures were the critical determinants of increased intentions to replace the existing school information system (IS). The study findings are useful to school administrators to identify long term flexibility required for policies to overcome the capability of shortcomings that emerge over the system life span and underline risk associated with continued use of unsupported systems. 展开更多

Government-leading,multi-agent participation and coordinated co-governance are the original intentions of River Chief System governance policy design, the purpose is to really improve governance benefits of the River Chief System.Regrettably, the current research is still in its infancy, mainly based on theoretical analysis and case analysis.Whether government-leading,multi-agent participation and coordinated co-govemance can really improve the effectiveness of governance still lacks empirical testing. For this reason, based on the 241 questionnaires of the governance benefits of the River Chief System in Guangdong Province, this paper deeply analyzed the influence of the organizational level of the River Chief System on the governance benefits, and further studied the regulatory role of multi-agent participation. The results showed that there was an inverted“U”relationship between the organizational level of the River Chief System and the governance benefit, and multi-agent participation had no positive influence on the relationship between the organization level and the governance benefit. This paper has important enlightening significance for expanding the theory of River Chief System research and guiding the practice of government-leading governance policy of River Chief System. On the other hand, this paper can provide reasonable suggestions on environmental governance for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s high-quality development. 展开更多
