Transformation of French Governance Model for Oceanian Overseas Territories

The governance of France's overseas territories in Oceania has undergone a significant model transformation since the end of World War Ⅱ. In recent years, it has further highlighted its determination to pursue strategic autonomy. Through strict governance and legal mechanisms, France has promoted local autonomy and economic transformation, and has shifted the governance of these territories from colonial control to political cooperation and from predatory development to localized sustainable development. France's overseas territories in Oceania have increasingly become the fulcrum of its foreign strategy, serving the overall interests of its country and its overseas security. In recent years, France's governance policies in the region have become increasingly diversified, such as promoting economic diversification, strengthening regional security cooperation, weakening its independence tendencies, and promoting changes in the regional situation and relevant national policies.

Preliminary Study on Overseas Applicability of Chinese Architectural Design Standards:Taking China-Aided Construction Projects in Asia Since the Belt and Road Initiative as Examples

This research takes China-aided construction projects in Asia since the Belt and Road Initiative as examples to explore the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards in other Asian countries.So far,the standards demonstrated the highest applicability in South Asia is the best followed by Southeast Asia.Chinese architectural design standards for educational buildings showed the highest applicability,followed by office,medical,and sports buildings.This study puts forward some strategies to improve the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards.These strategies include integrating regionalism and local cultural traditions,optimizing energy efficiency,and aligning designs with local usage habits.This study serves as a reference for similar projects in the future.

Research on Localized English Education for Transnational Left-behind Children in the Context of English Global Localization: A Case Study of Wenzhou Overseas Chinese Hometown

With the increasing development of English globalization,the trend of combining English with local cultures has become more evident.This research focuses on five schools in the Wenzhou overseas Chinese hometown to investigate the current status of English education from the perspectives of teachers,students,and textbooks.The aim was to propose bilingual education strategies for the education of transnational left-behind children(TLC).By examining the situation of English education in this specific context,this study sought to address the unique challenges faced by TLC and provide effective educational approaches.Interviews,observations,and document analysis were employed to gather data by means of questionnaire research methods.The findings of this study settled on the improvement of bilingual education for TLC and insights into enhancing English education in multicultural settings.

Data Scale, Data Scope and Platform Enterprise Performance: Insights from Digital Platform M&As

Data is a key asset for digital platforms,and mergers and acquisitions(M&As)are an important way for platform enterprises to acquire it.The types of data obtained from intra-industry and cross-sector M&As differ,as does the extent to which they interact within or between platforms.The impact of such data on corporate market performance is an important question to consider when selecting strategies for digital platform M&As.Based on our research on advertising-driven platforms,we developed a two-stage Hotelling game model for comparing the market performance effects of intra-industry M&As and cross-sector M&As for digital platforms.We carried out an empirical test using relevant data from advertising-driven digital platforms between 2009 and 2021,as well as a case study on Baidu’s M&A activities.Our research discovered that intra-industry M&As driven by“data economies of scale”and cross-sector M&As driven by“data economies of scope”are both beneficial to the market performance of platform enterprises.Intra-industry M&As have a more significant positive effect on the market performance of platform enterprises because the same types of data are easier to integrate and develop the“network effect of data scale”.From a data factor perspective,this paper reveals the inherent economic logic by which different types of M&As influence the market performance of digital platforms,as well as policymaking recommendations for all digital platforms to select M&A strategies based on data scale,data scope,and the network effect of data.

PBL结合Seminar模式在留学生心血管病见习中的应用

目的探索以问题为基础的教学法(problem-based learning,PBL)结合Seminar模式在留学生心血管疾病临床见习的应用效果。方法选取2020年9月—2021年9月在广州医科大学附属第二医院心血管内科见习的2016级及2017级留学生各60名为研究对象。2016级临床医学留学生作为对照组,2017级临床医学留学生作为试验组。对照组采用以教师教授为主的传统教学模式。试验组实行PBL结合Seminar模式完成心内科见习。对比学生出勤率和对课程满意度评价,教师见习评价,以及见习综合考核成绩。结果试验组学生对两种教学模式的见习出勤率、学生对课程满意度评分高于传统授课组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。试验组的教师见习评价指标,包括参与程度、分析推理能力、解决问题能力、文献查阅、归纳学习能力、创新思维、沟通表达能力、团队合作能力也均高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。试验组见习综合考核成绩[(89.75±3.60)分]高于对照组[(81.61±4.22)分],差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。结论临床医学留学生采用PBL结合Seminar模式更有助于提升临床见习的学习自主能动性,有助于临床思维的培养以及心血管见习重点知识的掌握,从而提高留学生心血管病学见习的教学质量。

The effect of overseas investors on local market efficiency:evidence from the Shanghai/Shenzhen–Hong Kong Stock Connect

Using a recent stock market liberalization reform policy in China—the Stock Connect—as a quasi-natural experiment,this study examines the effect of stock market liberalization on market efficiency.Employing a dataset of 17,086 Chinese listed firms covering 2009 to 2018,we find that stock market liberalization improves the market efficiency of the Chinese mainland stock market.We further explore the potential channels through which the Stock Connect can enhance the efficiency of the A-share(A-shares refer to shares issued by Chinese companies incorporated in China's Mainland,traded in the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.They are denominated in Chinese RMB(the local currency).A-shares were restricted to local Chinese investors before 2003,are open to foreign investors via the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor,RMB Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor,or the Stock Connect programs.)market.The findings show that liberalizing capital markets could benefit local market efficiency by increasing stock price informational efficiency and improving corporate governance quality.The additional analysis shows that stock market liberalization has a significant and positive impact on local market efficiency,enhancing firm value and reducing stock crash risk.We conduct various robustness checks to corroborate our findings.This study provides important policy implications for emerging countries liberalizing capital markets for foreign investors.

China's Game Industry Sees Business Opportunities Overseas

According to the recently issued 2022 China Game Industry Report,the actual sales revenue of China’s game market in 2022 reached RMB 265.884billion,down by 10.33% year on year.The number of game users was 664 million,down by 0.33% year on year.After the evident slowdown of market growth in2021,the year 2022 witnessed the first decline in the past eight years,and the game industry has entered the phase of focusing on stock market.As the blue ocean of the market shrinks and the market competition becomes increasingly fierce,the significance of "going overseas" will be more and more important for the game industry.

RMB Exchange Rate,Overseas Education,and High-Quality Economic Growth

China is transitioning its industrial structure from labor-and resource-intensive industries that previously contributed significantly to the country’s GDP growth to technology-intensive industries emphasizing a highly-skilled workforce and sustainability to achieve high-quality economic growth.This paper examines the impact of the RMB exchange rate on high-quality economic growth through theoretical modeling and empirical analysis and discusses the variable of overseas education to explore the mechanism of how the RMB exchange rate and overseas education jointly impact high-quality economic growth.The research sample includes the National Bureau of Statistics data on education from 1995 to 2015,the Bank for International Settlements(BIS)data on the RMB exchange rate,and the added value of China’s high-quality economic growth estimated based on the national economy data.An empirical analysis of theoretical expectations was conducted,finding that RMB appreciation could make a positive contribution to China’s high-quality economic growth;RMB exchange rate fluctuations would impact the relative cost of overseas education and overseas returnees could have a positive impact on domestic resource utilization efficiency and domestic capacity to make sci-tech innovations,thereby injecting vitality to high-quality economic growth.This study focuses on both the RMB exchange rate and the population studying abroad,providing additional observation dimensions to existing research.

基于亚马逊平台热销中医专著Between Heaven and Earth:A Guide to Chinese Medicine (《天地之间:中医指南》),举例分析其巧用“取象比类”思维、借用现代医学术语、采用图示辅助理解、创新中医文化表达的4种译写策略,并借助调查问卷佐证这4种译写策略的有效性与可取性,希望通过借鉴学习“他塑”,完善中医国际形象的“自塑”。同时检查“他塑”出现的文化误读,反观“自塑”的不足,从而调整中医传播策略,促进中医药文化的海外传播。

我国上市公司海外并购绩效提升了吗——基于DEA-Malmquist的实证分析

通过运用DEA-Malmquist法对2015—2020年我国132家上市公司海外并购绩效进行测度。研究发现:海外并购促进了大多数上市公司的资源配置效率,这主要得益于技术效率的作用;海外并购缩小了上市公司间的效率差距;海外并购提高了较多上市公司的规模收益,但规模收益增长的公司占比仍不高;海外并购在短期内改善了上市公司的绩效,对长期的绩效改善不明显。在此基础上,从海外并购前后两个阶段,提出提升我国上市公司海外并购绩效的建议。

Learner Factors and Contextual Influences of an Overseas Short-term Training Program for Chinese University Teacher Educators

The participants of an overseas three-month program in this paper were divided into 3 levels according to their English language competences,and classroom observation,and interview were conducted during the learning process.Results show the English language competences,interpretation,learners’education and research background and motivation are determining factors affecting classroom behavioral performance and learning effectiveness.

海外工程施工BIM技术应用分析

BIM技术在国内以及东南亚地区已普遍应用,但在其他地区,如非洲、西亚等,应用相对滞后,且这些地方施工条件恶劣,施工困难各不相同。为提高BIM技术应用率以及避免华而不实的应用,通过针对不同地区、国别的因地制宜的BIM技术应用实践,总结了系列BIM技术应用方法及管理措施。通过这些方法及措施,能促进BIM技术在海外工程施工中落地应用,提质、降本、增效,提升企业项目综合管理能力。

数字化与对外直接投资新优势——基于我国A股上市工业企业的分析

随着数字技术与实体经济深度融合,数字化已成为企业发展的新优势。本文基于2009—2021年我国A股上市工业企业样本,并匹配具有代表性的对外直接投资(OFDI)数据,研究数字化优势对我国企业OFDI的影响及其作用机制。研究发现,数字化能够显著且稳健地提高我国企业OFDI的可能性、投资广度和投资深度,进而提升我国OFDI的活力和韧性,并且解释力度高达企业OFDI传统优势研发密度的48.3%~53.8%。全要素生产率提升和海外经营成本降低是数字化优势促进企业OFDI的两条潜在机制。异质性分析表明,数字化优势的OFDI促进效应在绿地投资、传统行业和高竞争性行业中表现更加突出。此外,我国OFDI“走进东道国”过程中,跨国公司数字化优势与东道国数字化优势间的竞争效应大于互补效应,因而数字化优势对我国企业OFDI的正向作用在高数字化水平东道国的样本中受到抑制。本文研究结论对新形势下我国如何利用数字化优势推动高水平对外开放,构建以国内大循环为主体、国内国际双循环相互促进的新发展格局具有启示意义。

Model of interval multi-attribute optimization for overseas oil-gas projects

Because of the incompleteness and uncertainty in the information on overseas oil-gas projects, project evaluation needs models able to deal with such problems. A new model is, therefore, presented in this paper based on interval multi-attribute decision-making theory. Analysis was made on the important attributes （index） and the re- lationships affecting the basic factors to the project eco- nomic results were described. The interval numbers are used to describe the information on overseas oil and gas projects. On these bases, an improved TOPSIS model is introduced for the evaluation and ranking of overseas oil and gas projects. The practical application of the new model was carried out for an oil company in selecting some promising blocks from 13 oil and gas blocks in eight dif- ferent countries in the Middle East. Based on these inno- vative studies, some conclusions are given from theoretical and application aspects. The practical application shows that the introduction of interval numbers into the evaluation and ranking of the overseas oil and gas projects can lead to more reasonable decisions. The users can do the project evaluation based on the comprehensive values as well as based on some preferred index in the project evaluation and ranking.
