Chinese Overseas Students’Perceptions of the Effectiveness of Their Undergraduate Intercultural Education:A Phenomenological Study

Intercultural language education has attracted much attention in the field of foreign language teaching in China during the past decades,due to the increasing number of intercultural encounters across the world as a result of globalization.However,little is known about the effectiveness of intercultural education at Chinese universities.Adopting a phenomenological research design,this paper serves as a pilot study and sets out to explore the forms of intercultural education at universities and investigate the effectiveness of undergraduate intercultural education from the perspectives of 12 Chinese students.

Student’s Health Exercise Recognition Tool for E-Learning Education

Due to the recently increased requirements of e-learning systems,multiple educational institutes such as kindergarten have transformed their learning towards virtual education.Automated student health exercise is a difficult task but an important one due to the physical education needs especially in young learners.The proposed system focuses on the necessary implementation of student health exercise recognition(SHER)using a modified Quaternion-basedfilter for inertial data refining and data fusion as the pre-processing steps.Further,cleansed data has been segmented using an overlapping windowing approach followed by patterns identification in the form of static and kinematic signal patterns.Furthermore,these patterns have been utilized to extract cues for both patterned signals,which are further optimized using Fisher’s linear discriminant analysis(FLDA)technique.Finally,the physical exercise activities have been categorized using extended Kalmanfilter(EKF)-based neural networks.This system can be implemented in multiple educational establishments including intelligent training systems,virtual mentors,smart simulations,and interactive learning management methods.

Analysis on Patriotism Education of College Students Born after 2000 Years

In September 2018,the post-00s have entered the university as an official group.Due to its typical group characteristics and the emergence of new patriotism,which brings both opportunities and challenges to the patriotic education of post-00s college students,this paper puts forward the requirements of patriotism in the new era through the connotation of patriotism education in the new era.Through the study of the theory course of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,we can educate students to learn rational patriotism,strengthen the education of patriotism on the Internet,and cultivate the spirit of international patriotism.

Quality of Nursing Courses as Perceived by Students: Relationship with Their Academic Achievement in Palestine College of Nursing

The purpose of this study was to determine the Bachelor Science of Nursing (BSN), student’s perceptions of the quality of nursing courses taught at Palestine College of Nursing (PCN), which were fundamentals of nursing course, adult nursing course, pediatric nursing course, maternity nursing course, community nursing course, mental health and psychiatric nursing course and nursing management and leadership course, and its relationship with their academic achievement. The Palestine College of Nursing is governmental and Ministry of Health (MOH) affiliated. The sample included 467 nursing students registered in the college who studied the previously mentioned nursing courses. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire developed by the researcher, and guided by literature. That was to assess the included nine quality dimensions of the nursing courses as perceived by the students. Content validity and reliability tests were done for the tool. The study revealed that the total students’ perceptions of the quality of all nurses courses were within average quality level (80.42%). The nursing management course and community health nursing course were of the first two ranks of high quality level (84.54%, and 84.48%, respectively), where mental health and psychiatric nursing course, fundamentals of nursing course, adult health nursing course, pediatric nursing course and maternity health nursing course were the next ranks of average quality level. The study revealed that students’ perceptions of seven dimensions from nine were with average quality level (80.50%). The first rank was the “teacher/instructor characteristics and attributes”, dimension of high quality level (84.44%), while the last rank was “teaching methodology” dimension of average quality level (77.54%). There was a positive relationship between students’ achievement and the courses’ quality dimensions, pertaining objectives of the course, contents of the course, teacher/instructor competencies, teacher characteristics, teaching methodology, students/teacher interaction and course evaluation. The study recommended improving the quality of nursing courses for better level and to improve the quality of some dimensions like using different teaching strategies, the quality of clinical settings, and improve the quality of nursing instructors in some clinical areas. Finally the researcher recommend for further studies about concerning quality in nursing education.

Chinese Students in the United States:A study of Anxiety/Uncertainty Managing Behaviors

With The Anxiety/Uncertainty Management(AUM) Theory as framework,the paper had demonstrated an in-depth examination on Chinese students' anxiety/uncertainty managing behaviors and strategies when they are exposed to the new environment in the US.One-on-one interview was employed to analyze both the internal and external factors during their adaptation to new cultures.Further recommendations would be given for developing intercultural communication studies in Chinese students' oversea education or related other topics.

Analysis of the necessity of implementing the “dual specialty” training model from the perspective of nursing master students

Objective:The objective is to understand the current situation of clinical practice training for nursing master’s degree postgraduates,and discuss the necessity of implementing the“dual specialty”training mode for nursing master’s degree postgraduates in China.Methods:Phenomenological research method was used to conduct semi‑structured in‑depth interviews with 10 nursing master’s degree graduates,and the data were analyzed by Colaizzi 7‑step analysis method.Results:Four topics were extracted:The objective of clinical practice training for nursing master degree postgraduates was not specific;the cultivation direction is not refined;the ability of clinical practice is weak;the research direction is not consistent with the required position.Conclusion:Implementing special double training mode can solve nursing professional master degree postgraduate education lacking the ability to service the needs of society,graduate students and the existing problems of specialist nurse training and the cultivation of“heavy science,light clinical practice”status quo and the effective way of guiding graduate students career planning,so the implementation of special“double”training mode is necessary.

Analysis of the Increasing Interest of Foreign Students to Study in China

该文运用图表等形式对近些年来华留学人员的情况进行了总结,发现其数量、地区分布等呈现逐年递增的趋势。通过分析得出,这一状况与我国学术氛围的增强、高等教育的发展进步,以及政府的大力支持有关。同时,通过数据的比较发现,在国际范围内,存在对我国高等教育发展的认识不均衡的现象,这对高校等相关部门提出了新的要求。

基于C/S模式的高校体育教学体能监测方法

为了提升体能监测方法的并行加速比,设计了基于C/S模式的高校体育教学体能监测平台。利用物联网技术设计了平台的硬件框架和数据库;采用C/S模式设计平台的软件框架,通过数据分析与处理、实时采集、设备及用户信息管理和三维场景实现平台软件的功能,在软件设计中利用专家访谈法和特尔斐法构建体育教学体能监测指标,采用模糊综合评价法实现户外体育教学的学生体能监测。实验结果表明,所提方法的收敛性能好、并行加速比高、吞吐量高。

侨校境外生班钢结构基本原理课程思政建设与探讨

近年来,将思想政治教育融入专业课程教学成为各大高校的共识。教师在传授专业知识的同时也要加强对学生思想品德的培养。华侨大学作为一所传统侨校,更要注重在专业课堂教学中做好境外生的思想政治工作,不仅要让学生更好地适应专业学习和独立生活,而且要让学生正确地认识中国的文化背景与发展现状。以钢结构基本原理课程为例,多维度分析课程定位、课堂教学以及毕业要求,明晰课程思政育人目标。钢结构基本原理课程与工程实践联系紧密,在课程思政设计时,应注重搜集钢结构相关工程项目、行业翘楚与中国传统文化等案例,从中挖掘具有思政内涵的教学元素,深度融合教学设计与思政育人。此外,从课前预习辅导、课中理论教学和课后实践教学三个环节,探析课程思政融入专业基础课程教学的路径,落实课程思政目标,增强学生的文化认同感和民族自豪感。

中医思维培养在针灸对外教育中的重要性

文章讨论了针灸对外教育中面临的主要问题,涉及教材的选定、课程的设置、对外教育师资的建设、临床实习的安排等方面,强调了中医思维培养与这些问题之间的相关性,并且指出了中医思维培养是较高层次的要求,也是保障针灸对外教育质量的根本。要想解决上述问题,就要真正从根本上重视培养海外学生的中医思维能力这一教学目标,而也只有以此为长远目标,才能提高其针灸临床诊疗水平,推动针灸对外教育的发展,提高国内院校和相关机构的教学口碑。

Evaluation of Technical Education by Using a Modern Structured MOODLE Laboratory Course, in Relation to Recent Data

E-learning platforms support education systems worldwide, transferring theoretical knowledge as well as soft skills. In the present study high-school pupils’, and adult students’ opinions were evaluated through a modern structured MOODLE interactive course, designed for the needs of the laboratory course “Automotive Systems”. The study concerns Greek secondary vocational education pupils aged 18 and vocational training adult students aged 20 to 50 years. The multistage, equal size simple random cluster sample was used as a sampling method. Pupils and adult students of each cluster completed structured 10-question questionnaires both before and after attending the course. A total of 120 questionnaires were collected. In general, our findings disclosed that the majority of pupils and adult students had significantly improved their knowledge and skills from using MOODLE. They reported strengthening conventional teaching, using the new MOODLE technology. The satisfaction indices improved quite, with the differences in their mean values being statistically significant.

MBBS项目留学生教育满意度及其影响因素分析——以广东省某高校为例

目的:考察来华留学本科临床医学专业(英文授课)留学生教育满意度的影响因素,为建立满足留学生需求的管理体系提供建议。方法:采用自编问卷对来华留学本科临床医学专业留学生进行调查,运用SPSS 18.0进行统计分析结果。结果:预测来华留学本科临床医学专业(英文授课)留学生教育总体满意度的因素为教学管理、汉语水平、中国朋友、教学设施、师资与管理人员水平、宿舍环境与生活设施、学校的规章制度、课程设置等8个。结论:同中有异,完善留学生教学管理;搭建跨文化交际平台,提高留学生汉语水平;加大投入,完善办学条件;加强培训,提高教师和管理人员的业务水平;建立健全留学生教育管理制度;明确培养目标,合理设置课程。

“U-G-S”师范生协同培养机制及其实践探索

师范生培养在整个国民教育中具有非常重要的作用,其培养机制是教育供给侧改革的重要部分,是教师教育改革的重要环节。当前,师范生培养机制中仍存在人才培养方案设计不完善,地方政府督导力度不够,中小学实践科学性不足等问题。"U-G-S"协同培养机制的建立对改革高校人才培养范式、提升地方政府的教育调控力度、增强中小学教师人才储备、塑造师范生职业认同感以及促进高校与中小学资源共享具有重要作用,将有利于各主体参与协同,解决传统师范生培养模式中的弊端。"U-G-S"师范生协同培养机制可采取优化培养方案、加强教育教学实践基地建设、增强各方主体合作制度保障等措施。

民族地区小学生科技创新教育“G-U-S”协同育人模式的探索实践

当前民族地区小学生科技创新教育存在参与主体单一、人才队伍短缺、教学资源缺乏的问题。河池学院依托高校优质教育教学资源,深度推进校地、校校、校企合作,通过实现师资共培、平台共建、载体共创、文化共育,探索构建了“政府主导-高校引领-小学主体”的小学生科技创新教育“G-U-S”协同育人模式,促进了“校-政-校”之间的资源共享、优势互补、协同育人,有效提升了民族地区小学生科技创新教育水平,对民族地区的小学科技创新教育具有一定借鉴作用。

“U-S”共同体下小学语文教学法实践教学改革初探

针对高校小学教育专业师范生教学实践能力薄弱的问题,在小学语文教学法教学中需建构"US"共同体(大学与小学合作),进行"实践取向"的课堂教学、教育见习与教师角色体验、模拟教学实践、实习支教前技能强化训练、教育实习与教育情境研究等多样化实践教学的探索,有效地促进了师范生培养自我职业生涯规划意识与训练小学语文教学技能,还促进师范生去研习小学语文新课程教学改革,为培养合格的小学语文教师发挥了积极作用。

学生德育自我评价的内省传统与日记因应

学生德育日记自我评价是基于我国近40年来德育评价领域出现的学生道德自我失语问题而提出的改革之钥。溯源儒家心性修养论所倡导的自我内省法,主张在“反省内求”所意指的自我修养中提升德性,以“为仁由己”助推学生“育己立德”的德育自主评价目标导向。学生德育日记评价通过学生对道德事件的价值判断唤醒道德自我知觉和道德提升感,实现道德认知能力的发展;帮助学生在日记叙事的自我反思中完成对道德情感的自我倾诉,发挥道德自豪对道德行为品质的强化功用,寻得道德内疚的疏解路向;适应学生道德动态发展特点,以合其志功的评价导向引导学生关注自身道德纵向发展。日记评价实践路向聚焦于日记自评与语文写作的融合、增值评价与过程评价的联合、自我隐私与坦诚沟通的和合,为学生道德自我评价提供适切的载体。

基于Spring的高校成人教育学籍管理平台的研究和设计

为了提高普通高校成人教育的教学质量和管理效率,通过对传统教育信息系统平台和新的IT技术Spring的研究和分析,提出了一种新的基于Spring框架的网络成人教育学籍管理平台的设计方案。通过介绍普通高校成人教育发展的现状和当前成人教育学籍管理平台的缺陷,针对成人教育学籍管理的具体情况提出基于Spring的系统实现平台,对成人教育学生的基本信息、历年成绩、毕业情况等多方面信息进行规范化和科学化的管理,为推动和发展新时期的成人教育积累实际经验。

依托记忆之场培育中华民族共同体意识的意义及路径——以“中国文化之旅”为例

中华民族以各类有形、无形的记忆之场为载体建构着中华民族的集体记忆。“中国文化之旅”是主要面向港澳台侨大学生的、以参观访问中华民族记忆之场为主要形式的爱国主义教育实践活动。该活动不仅有助于学习者在“我”的层面建构中华民族共同体知识体系、传承中华民族价值信念、生成为中国梦共同奋斗的行为意愿,而且以互动交流方式促进学习者在“我们”的层面对中华民族集体记忆的共建共享,增强“我们都是中华民族共同体中的一员”的身份认同。为了提升中华民族共同体意识培育的效能,我们需要借助国家文化工程推进记忆之场的建设,高校亦需用好国家文化工程建设成果。

美国普通州立大学海外学生教育管理实践研究——以塞勒姆州立大学(SSU)为例

美国普通州立大学在海外学生管理方面经验丰富。以塞勒姆州立大学为例,该校在争取生源、海外项目拓展方式,特别是留学生教育管理方面有许多实践特色。通过多元渠道拓展海外项目、利用社区力量参与留学生教育、文化适应教育和语言课程的设置等许多方面都体现了美国海外留学生教育管理的特色,这些为我国留学生教育提供了可资借鉴的有益经验。
